  1. I don't think there's anything I could say about a bunch of half-naked American men and women prancing around in Afghanistan that wouldn't get this thread moved to SC .
  2. Canada is used for cold storage of the Paraguayan banana overstock, thereby allowing control of the price of banana futures on the Chicago Board of Trade.
  3. Nope. 'Fraid there's no time-zone 24 minutes off the coast of Canada that'd mean the day hadn't changed.
  4. Indeed. European-spec camcorders work nicely, with adaptors for the plugs.
  5. It's two-and-a-half years too late for that m'dear .
  6. I've no direct experience, having not owned an Apple since the ][c, but I've heard good things. That said, I've also heard good things about Safari... as a side note, support for IE for Mac will be discontinued as of December 31st.
  7. Slightly more helpful answer: In IE 6, click on Tools | Manage Add-ons. This will show a list of all the plug-ins installed. You can disable them as you see fit. If you're unsure as to whether you should keep a plugin or not, google its name. This, however, is treating the symptoms, not the cause. The correct long-term solution is to install Firefox.

  13. Oops. Wrong trailer . It's on the Soul Flyers DVD, and I've got a version of the trailer which has the wingsuit flight in it. Unfortunately, it's on my home machine, and I'm here at work. Use the Search Posts link above and see if you can find a working link to it...
  14. According to Brian on Skydive Radio #14, they do jump loads.

    Spectre

I did 350 jumps on my Spectre 190, loaded at about 1.05:1. The canopy is tolerant of less-than-optimal packing, will get you back from a long spot on rears, turns on a dime, and is tough enough for some recreational CRW. It's forgiving enough that I walked away from a couple of bad decisions with damage to only my ego. The Spectre has a short recovery arc so if your only goal in life is to learn to swoop, it might not be the best choice. Highly recommended.
  16. Well, compared to Fosters it's beer...
  17. The APF manual B-licence manual refers to it as an offset pin.
