Pack it with C4 and a mercury tilt-switch.

Sounds sensible. Have fun and let us know how it goes

Yeah, but you'll be stopping in Dubai/Singapore/Bangkok/KL/HK for a while... it won't be too bad. Just stay off the booxe and you'll be all right. For the record, some of the longer flights I've done: SYD->LAX LHR->SIN LHR->BKK->SYD LAX->PHL->SNN LHR->NRT IRT->ICN->SYD None under twelve hours.

No, but jumpers with more experience might reasonably be assumed to be able to make the decision for themselves. Novice jumpers don't know what they don't know.

BASE in US National Parks: Got a minute to give us a hand?

A large percentage of the world disagrees vehemently with that point of view.

Betcha it's in your ex's place.

It's easy for them; they only play for 20secs at a time!

Is there a written training syllabus available for Freeflying?
bob.dino replied to freakfly24's topic in Freeflying
The APF has a Freefly for Beginners manual. -
How about Sidebody-Donut? Or Murphy Flake?

Because those countries don't trust people with bugger-all jumps to be able to manage risk and keep themselves alive?

I've not landed in water, but there's been a few incidents and such reported here over the years. A search on water landing throws up a few nuggets of useful info amongst all the "water training for B licence" posts. Or, if you want to restrict your search to the Incidents forum, there's 400 and change posts, some with very useful info. I'm sure others will chime in with first-hand info.

You didn't read the instructions properly, didya? I filled it in with my Aussie details without problems -
Extreme begins with an e . Otherwise, I like the design, but I think the blues used are just a tad too subdued. If you're aiming at the tandem video market (which I assume the X-TREEM DUUUDE! implies), then brighter blues & maybe a little red will get your audience in the mood you're aiming for. I'm not sure if I've explained that correctly, as I don't really have the vocabulary of a graphic designer, but hopefully you can figure out what I mean...

Given what you're wearing, I think it's pretty safe to say you don't spend too much time looking in the mirror .

Really? Why? Not a US jumper, so I'm curious as to what obstacles prevent you taking a more active role in reforming a system that doesn't appear to meet your needs.

Wingsuit proximity to other canopies
bob.dino replied to okalb's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
A catchier way of saying it: "Don't involve me in your skydive without asking first." -
No, not really. Sangiro's got the market cornered for the user community. You could do web-design for the manufacturers, but without a portfolio, who's going to employ you? Working for Larsen & Brusgaard or Alti-2 would require embedded systems design expertise. Which I've never seen taught in sufficient depth in a BSC in ICT. For the record: on average it seems to take about 18 months to turn a graduate into a useful employee.

No. They're putting me at risk without my consent. I don't know or trust them to be sufficiently capable pilots to avoid killing me. Buzzing me without prior arrangement shows a very disturbing lack of judgement. If I know and trust them and we talk about it beforehand, I don't see why not - then both of us are accepting of the additional risk. -
...because (s)he could finally afford the new BMW?

Macintosh users.....codecs for MP4 videos.....where to get.
bob.dino replied to Vectracide's topic in The Bonfire
The general answer to your question is VLC. Open-source, cross-platform, plays pretty much anything. Dunno how closely the OSX version adheres to the Apple UI guidelines though, so it may look ugly. Still, always handy to have around for those hard-to-play files.
