  1. I'm either at work, the DZ, or it's dark outside. So I'm not too fussed .
  2. Lucky boy. Your mom would've kicked your ass if it didn't . Congrats!
  3. I know it exists, but that's the sum of my knowledge. If you don't get the answers you seek here, subscribe here. Your membership will need to be approved, which can take a day or so, but it's the best way to get in touch with QLD jumpers.
  4. Toogoolawah. They run 7 days a week, have Cessna Caravans and a nice friendly attitude. Recommended. There may be others in the area, but I don't know them personally.
  5. Agreed, though it's worth noting that an on-off button may not be all that simple to implement.
  6. I'll start work on reinforcing the caravans at the DZ right away!
  7. Get in a team. It's the single fastest way to learn. Jumping with the same people all the time means that you can spend much more time working on your own skills rather than trying to fix fall-rates. The APF has 3-way Novice and 4-way Intermediate competitions. I've done both, and they're both great fun. If there's a 3-way Novice event in the upcoming Web League, I'd highly recommend entering that. If, however, you've already got a 4-way team together, go have fun in 4-way Inter. Just don't expect to win straight away! You've a much better chance of medals in 3-way. And medals are always a good motivator . If you plan on jumping all year and competing in the Nationals (next Jan), the dropzone covers the tutor's slot in 4-way Inter teams. Your experienced person will need to talk to Phil about that... oh, and get as much outside coaching as you can afford. You'll improve at a markedly better rate if you do. You'll have to budget for a camera person. Every single team jump must have a camera guy or gal, because what you think you're doing and what you're actually doing are often different. At Picton, the cost of camera is just covering the camera person's slot. There's also going to be a 4-way weekend in late March. Make sure you sign up for it. You get great coaching, learn loads, and have heaps of fun. Highly recommended. PM me if you've any questions specific to Picton or Australia I can answer... in the last two years I've medalled in 3-way Novice, and 4-way Inter (twice), so I can share my experiences with you. Or you can just grab me next weekend - I'll be at the DZ on Saturday & Sunday.
  8. Agreed. Below 2 grand I ain't got no friends.
  9. Newtown. Far too many backpackers at Coogee and Bondi. It'd feel like living at home, but with better weather.
  10. It's not winter just yet... Feb is probably the hottest month, and March is usually pretty toasty too. If you pop over to Sydney, we'll have a beer and a jump together. edit: or, if October sounds better, the Equinox boogie is on outside Brisbane. It'll rock.
  11. No we're not. 0:6:0 Quiet one, did some coached freefly jumps and a couple of rel jumps. Had fun. Spent Sunday arvo on the harbour on a racing yacht.
  12. - 150-200 freefly jumps - a bunch of low-time jumper coaching - maybe another 4-way team late in the year? - get half-way decent at flying my canopy - stay safe.
  13. Best joke I've heard: he was a "big shot lawyer"
  14. I really think you need to chill out just a little. Your posts are aggressive and strewn with invective to a frankly worrying degree.
  15. I'm not lowering my standards on safety. I'm saying that stalling your canopy in controlled conditions gives you the tools you need to avoid doing it unexpectedly. At, for example, 20ft.
  16. Archive.org has kept a copy.
  17. A card signed by all five ex-wives.
  18. What kinda bribing do I need to do? Oh, and I need a team, don't I? Damn.
  19. What to inspect on and how to hook up a new main.
  20. Above 12k it's not usually a big deal as to how high you are...
  21. Fermo, Skydive Marche, the new home of http://www.atmonauti.com I second that. Very nice place Wow. There's something nice about Ancona?! I thought all it had going for it was the ferry to Split .
