What're slops?

It's 20:50 now. Gotta go do laundry too. It's been a medium day, at about 25C, and I've just gotten home after work/dinner/haircut/exercise.

Need a place to crash in London saturday night...
bob.dino replied to piisfish's topic in The Bonfire
Wish I could help, but I don't live in the UK anymore . -
On a large student canopy, if you hold the toggles you'll start to descend again, and your landing will probably be a little harder than planned. Prepare to PLF. If you let the toggles up quickly, the canopy will surge in front of you and you'll sure as hell land harder than planned. Your PLF better be damn good.

Yup, should've said that in my original post. Good work MikeT. -

The Tokina 17mm seems to be discontinued. Have you looked at their 12-24mm zoom?

So? Go now. They'll be able to tell you very quickly if it's not a brown recluse. Then you can come back in the morning when they're not busy.

WOW! Responses to BOD notes posting

Why? It's the Single Best Source for Skydiving Information ©, and a lot more people would see the info here than on the USPA site - a place they don't normally visit every other day. If they don't know about it, there won't be a groundswell of opinion. -
WOW! Responses to BOD notes posting
bob.dino replied to MikeTJumps's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It would be nice if prospective changes were posted to the relevant forum on dropzone.com a month or so before the BOD meeting to allow comment. /not a uspa-member, due to being on a different continent. -
How Do YOU Feel About The Possible Port Purchase and Why?
bob.dino replied to boinky's topic in Speakers Corner
Yep. Parts of the USA are owned by foreign companies. And parts of other countries are owned by US-based companies. It's part of how capitalism, free markets, and the unencumbered movement of capital work. Personally, you should stop complaining. Those markets are one of the things that's made the USA the preeminent world power of the last few decades. Things are pretty rosy for y'all. This is like complaining when you're winnning a basketball game 88-3. -
Standard new OS advice: Wait until the first point release (for Windows: SP1) has been released - usually 6 months to a year after the initial release - before installing it on a production system.

Just turn off display of signatures. Makes it much easier to read these forums.

What makes an experienced skydiver?
bob.dino replied to droquette's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
To put it in perspective: someone with 100 jumps is like a college Comp Sci graduate. They've got a good grounding, understand the principles, but with little real world experience will still need mentoring and advice to get useful work done. -
I was going to say "Note to Elisha", but I figured it needed to be more general, and Feeblemind proved me right.

Note to non-Aussies: this is unlikely to be about Bay Area Skydiving in California.

Nicely done. Welcome back to the light .

Alas, that's too true. In that case, can I invite 40 of my friends and put it all on video?

Airplanes are female, right? Can I have a threesome with a Skyvan and a Super Otter?
