How about setting yourself a slightly smaller challenge first? It seems like you are really fixated on skydiving and are hyping yourself up - perhaps putting a bit too much pressure on yourself and causing brain-lock. I got scared off skydiving in 1993 (went through lines on my 11th jump after dumping unstable). Anyway I was in Vegas in 1999 for a wedding. There is a bungi jump platform there (next to Circus Circus) - I told myself that if I could do two bungi jumps (sober) then I could try becoming a skydiver again. I was scared shitless but I did it. That then helped motivate me and gave me the confidence to do AFF. I will always be grateful to myself for making those two bungi jumps because now I can't imagine a life without skydiving. It has already given me more than it could possibly ever take away even if my next jump was my last (for whatever reason and without being morbid). Anyway, maybe bungi jumping isn't for you, but maybe some other challenging non-skydiving activity (eg rock climbing) could give you a confidence boost. I did a bit of searching and found the following on Tamara Koyn's site - the paragraph on exit orders is quite good. What would you experienced jumpers do if you found yourself in Dove's position? I knew Dwaine Weston was a shit-hot base jumper, but didn't know he was an experienced wingsuit flyer too - I think I read somewhere once that he reached 1000 base jumps without having NEARLY as many skydives. Different sport, different buzz I suppose.

Hi James Remi covered most of your options. Just a couple of points I'd like to bring to your attention : Members at Hinton get their coaching dives subsidized ALL the way up to FS1. If you want to try freeflying once you have your FS1 (and you know you do! ), then freefly coach jumps are also subsidized (total cost of £24 for both slots - inc. briefs and video). Pat, the rigger, is there every weeked, and the CCI (Dave Emerson) is also a rigger. Lastly, the fact that you have done AFF abroad will NOT be an issue at all. I am there most weekends, if you like I will be happy to introduce you to Pat and an instructor so you can get back in the air as quickly as possible. OK, I understand that when there are no uppers blowing it is good to put the freeflyers out first (vertical separation). And I understand that when the uppers are blowing it is advisable to put the belly flyers out first (horizontal separation). However when do you make this decision? I know it can't be exact, but roughly at what wind speed would you change the exit order? Any knowledgeable opinions welcome (although I know I'll get Clay's anyway... ) Will PS to keep it simple, for my question, assume the load consists only of freeflyers and belly flyers, all opening at the same altitude and the biggest RW formation is a 4-way.

I made 154 jumps in 2001, would've been more but I was out of a job for October and November and ended up living off my credit cards. I've made 2 jumps so far this year and hope to do at least 200.
