The pentagon is a building. I suspect the political and personal range of the individuals on staff at the Pentagon is as diverse as any other organization with thousands of people. I was just stating something that has been true in all wars throughout the history of the world. The commanders at the top have no time to worry about someones kid when the mission at hand is winning the conflict. If not for the media, the names and faces would for the most part never be known to most. I am glad that the media does show those faces of those who have gave the most as it puts a face on war. I did a demo last 4th of july at a large airshow. Winds 15 to 20. No problem as we followed our jump plan and set up and landed according to plan. It only seems to me that his mistake was setting up for landing, given limited information. As I understand he landed in the spectator seats then fell to the ground. Right on. The more I read, the more I believe that he has a right to sue, regardless to his actions during and after the jump. As this was a military related jump would he had had the choice to not jump? Was this an order to jump? I do see that his decision on setting up his landing had everything to do with this case. Jumping in 20 to 25 mph winds is common and I do not see why winds had anything to do with it. Had they been gusting above 25 mph might but if wind condition is known then one should set up for landing accordingly in an area clear of obstruction.That aside, being an OTJ accident he should recieve compensation. When the judge ordered me to pay the punk, the guy thought he would get all $700. at once. I sent $1.00 on some months, other months $10.00. One time I sent a check for 50 cents.
