  1. This nugget of wisdom is why your a MODERATOR Sir! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  2. That can happen and its probably a high percentage of Tandem Students who do this. But a few minutes of corrective training as they transition to AFF (or SL/IAD) can fix it. I think 1 is a good thing for any of the students who an Instructor thinks may be a bit over whelmed. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  3. He didn't say you WHERE a "fuck wit", just looked like one. Just sayen' But the point he had in there is valid, although a bit over shadowed by the "Fuck wit" thing. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  4. you are telling me that something i've witnessed and saw with me own eyes is a fabrication of truth and reality? hypotheticaly That would be like me telling you that you have a small john thomas without actually seeing it, only you would know the truth AH HA! Right to the "my dick is bigger than your dick!" argument! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  5. As well as on larger and smaller canopies. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  6. Well then your Profiles Experience is not matching your Real Experience, hence the responses your getting. I have seen Cat B and C students spiral with the Fronts. I have even seen a Cat A Flare the Rears, fronts, not flare at all. Point being, if you can think it up, a student can think up more and do it! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  7. i'm sure that would require manuevers that a student would most defenatly not do: crank the toggle to feet, front riser spirals(large amount of strengh would be required for that) etc etc Well... just for your information... you don't represent every dropzone buddy There are Students who have done those exact things, just "cause" or they had a conversation with some one at the Bon Fire , read it online etc, etc. There are very few Drop Zones that do not have at least a small assortment of student gear with different sized mains. In my experience I have not seen a DZ yet with only one size Student Main. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  8. Cool! Glad you enjoyed the DZ. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  9. I suppose it would since that's your home DZ. Come on already, can't you guys play nice and just debate the Business' and its Owners/Managers? An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  10. And there you have it. Now the Thread can be locked as some one asked earlier. Glad it worked and even "gladder" your having fun with it! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  11. Cool, should be a good crowd then! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  12. Did you contact them and make sure they are going to be running? What plane might they have this weekend? Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  13. Over all, it is a good idea, at face value. I can turnoff my alerts and ringers directly on my phone till the Alarm is to go off to wake me, so no issues with sleep or privacy in a meeting. Since it will be targeted on the location of the Cell in relation to towers it seems pretty good over all. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  14. I think so too. I do not agree with his dig on the Vietnam Veteran's. I understand his analogy of the Parent Teacher Conference. The only good I see out of this past election is a balance of power and I think history shows us that works out better in the long run. Although I think this will be a short two year run and only one year will be beneficial to us. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  15. Keep your eyes open, head low and be safe. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  16. I agree with Dave and had planed on writing the very same thing, go used, get experience and then buy the canopy you will keep for a longer while. That way the custom canopy is associated with GOOD piloting and landing skills and not the other kind. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  17. One of the comments at the bottom of the story alludes that this is not the first "odd" thing he has done. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  18. There are regular Nashville Area Jumpers there every weekend, so it should not be hard. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  19. Maybe it was the only gear with a larger canopy in it for the landings that was available to them. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  20. You a Cop? Took me 3.75 hours from Clarksville, so I guess your looking at 3 hours, from Nashville, with NO traffic issues. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  21. The 7800 is pretty heavy, I have only jumped it once. The 3500 is heavy as well. To be honest I never weighed them so I do not know the exact weights, but 80 lbs for the 7800 seems pretty close. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  22. So says the Pink Unicorn. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  23. Yes a 7800 square foot flag. http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/photo.php?fbid=1407748475293&set=t.1456020672&pid=1216313&id=1279861568 Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  24. The purpose built flags are actually same color and design arrangement but Banner scale. Technically not a flag. Some Teams (Fastrax being one) have Congressional Decrees or Proclamations stating that the banner-flag may touch the ground and be picked up quickly for safety reasons, a 7800' flag with appropriate weight is a bit tough to catch. When Dana Bowman Jumps his Banner-Flag his narration even has this explanation in it. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
  25. I believe it is 9. Just spent the weekend there. Nice group of people and nice facilities. Upstanding and honest folks, using a new PAC 750 XL, and the 182 is there for slow days, plus the 206 just got its door fitted and was finishing its certification this past weekend. New Sigma's for Tandems, new Student rigs for AFF and Rentals. With the PAC there they plan on Freelfy Camps (all levels and sizes), 4-way RW camps and possible 8-way RW (all levels). This DZ and West TN are THE DZ's for TN. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
