Certain right-wingers in here get real hard-ons pointing to some Democrat acting like an asshole, and then asking, "Why are the liberals silent about this? The silence is deafening!" Republicans who conscientiously care about their party should step up and call this kind of shit out for what it is, and what it does to the image, and the future, of their party. (Barry Goldwater, for example, certainly did, during the last years of his life.) And that includes calling-out the people who reveal their own closet racism by habitually bleating "Race card!" to those who do call it out. Not being from (or living in) Kansas, I am not all up to speed on the whole situation, but I think one could call the State Sen a "Racist" and not worry too much. So since the FB site is closed, where are these numerous pics so others can see them too? If you happened to be part of the "Training Team", what was your background? What area of expertise did you bring to the Team? Since you git bounced by the draft board, it wasn't any thing military related, so what was it? Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. The technique of using out of date numbers seems odd to me, even when done in jest. Matt 2006 Chicago has gun ban. Now Chicago doesn't have gun ban. Before:after comparison is perfectly legit. Sure, but the post stood alone, so you can understand the confusion. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

There is no Chicago gun ban. It's getting rather like Dallas. 2010: Dallas murder rate: 11.3 Chicago murder rate: 15.2 Dallas robbery rate: 343.4 Chicago robbery rate: 501.6 Dallas agg. assault rate: 307.7 Chicago agg. assault rate: 485.5 Yep, bad things happen when there's no effective restriction on felons and loonies getting guns. Funny how you dropped the attempt to compare to Dallas once the numbers were shown. Thanks for proving the point that the Chicago ban didn't do a thing to prevent crime. Doesn't "prove" any such thing. Funny how your tune changed once the numbers were shown. Try the 2005-2006 numbers HEADLINE FBI says Dallas most dangerous large city in 2005 The large city with the highest crime rate was Dallas, with about one crime reported for every 12 people. Los Angeles ranked eighth, with about one crime for every 26 people. The technique of using out of date numbers seems odd to me, even when done in jest. I see no issue with responsible gun ownership and registration. Those who scream it is against the Constitution to require a formal register format, i think need to step back and rethink their position. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. Warren Buffett calls for higher taxes for US super rich
matthewcline replied to dreamdancer's topic in Speakers Corner
The Author quotes six your old numbers. So the blame is on Millionaires, Small Business Owners, and 1099 Contractors (none W-2 holders), correct? Now what is the damage when you add the Sub Contractors who then file for unemployment as well? Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -

I almost spit my Jack Daniels and Coke (light on the coke) out! He is a SF Vet, 5th GRP, Viet Nam, A Team Leader. uhhhh... at the risk of sounding like someone else, what on earth makes you qualified to judge this? especially given your own vested interest in the matter? I should be the moderator and roast each speaker after their presentation. Hindsight as good as it gets! Can I get a full body armor suit and can we hot wire Blevins? I'll hold the buzzer. It's a community event and anyone can attend in the audience. Admission is free. Speaker and vendor selections are a different thing. Those are pre-assigned. If Marla or yourself wish to show up to watch, you are more than welcome. Speakers get either fifteen or thirty minute assigned slots, their choice. An official program is usually made available online, and print copies are handed out at the door. This system has been used for the past several years. Now that would be a hoot! Although, I suspect some here would pale miserably in public when speaking. Some would come across as complete idiots and possibly insane too. Others would receive a sympathy nod, but not be taken seriously. "Talking" symposiums are great, but usually fruitless. A Symposium where physical evidence must be presented to get a slot, that would be beneficial. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

"TPC will update the grid as candidates reveal more details about their tax plans." Since Cain is still technically a candidate (so he can still raise money) I expect that's why he's still there. That is another thing I hate, "Suspend" their failed run attempts so they can still raise money and "live" off of supporters donations. Either in or out, once out pay the bills, zero and close the account, and go to work for some one. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Would you ever through a student out without a altimiter
matthewcline replied to aarco's topic in Instructors
Likewise, back in the 60's and 70's at some DZ's in the states SL students were dispatched from 2800- 3000 feet out of cessnas without Altis. Oddly, I still know "older" jumpers who simply refuse to jump an alti because they still rely on their "primary alti": their eyes. They still hum it to 2000 feet (or thereabouts) on every jump as well. Hell, one of them doesn't wear goggles! Guess who that is.. Chuck D-12501 I know a guy like that! He started jumping back when they had to feed the pterodactyl's before jump ops so they would eat the students! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -

Shouldn't they have Paul and not Cain there? Debt by the R's is just gonna be a dollar less the the D's, that way they can claim a "reduction". Either way, what we have sucks, and what we will get sucks. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Balls indeed. I bet he even gives his real name and phone number in morning after situations. 377 Well, not for many years now, been married a while. I figured, I got nothing to hide, so, why hide? It would also make it easier on the fellow, he is a few years older than me and might move slow in this fad called the internet (I swear it won't last ) I will even post pics of my current and past jobs for him, here tough, since his repeated attempts to friend me on fb have been ignored. Actually I have seen that having balls in parachuting can cause interesting looks on the faces of those who have them and get a nut under upon opening Well, it does hurt! Thank you for another Einsteinian postulate. See attached. Captured in a negative time-warp of his own making, poor Matt blew his nose too hard or something. What is your problem? Are they not paying you enough? Ask for a raise. They can afford it. I'll write you a great scathing report. Crew member of the year award? NAW! You funny guy, though. Just not real good at it. You've had enough experience harassing me on various sites, none effectively. Very obvious. Keep trying, Dude. I'll give you advice if you wish..... You're being paranoid Bob. This is the only site I have ever interfaced with you on. I think your story about your role in the Dan Cooper case is false, your claims of the Draft Dodging False, and your over all demeanor proves your just making every thing up. You are attacking any one who doesn't believe your word only, and even admit your word is "suspect". Until you have proof of any claims you should probably follow your own advice and go be quiet some where. Here is my number you can get my Boss here as well (615)255-4000, go ahead and call and write your scathing report. I am not a comedian, been told I am funny, but no certification to that. All my certification is involving 21 years of Army Service (as a Paratrooper and Pathfinder, some say, that means I am a certified asshole, OK what ever), several certificates from the USPA, and a Safety Award from the FAA Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. Isn't that the kind of thing a guy in a bar says when challenged about his "Seal" training? Seriously, that's a simply ridiculous claim. If you're left standing alive to talk about it, there is always a paper trail. I don't care who you are. Bob, it's simply ridiculous to claim the government would have "exsponged" your records because of your "top secret" mission, yet you'd still somehow be able to talk about it. Simply ridiculous. I was never in the military, I left before the swearing-in. I was subsequently tried by Commander John Anderson and convicted of threatening my draftboard, Loraine K. Long, sentenced to four years at Fort Levinworth USDB, suspended. THAT is my military experience. I inquired under the Freedom of Information Act and verified that Mac purged everything just like he said. Even my draftboard files are spotless. No indication of my having been processed. Nothing. That is fact. Can't make up those kinds of facts. Search til you are blue in the face. I'd be happy to have you show me anything! It is simply NOT THERE! POOF! Sure you can, IMO, you just did. If you pinch your nose, stick one finger in your ear and hold your breath does a whistle start to blow in your head? NO RECORDS ANYWHERE! WIPED CLEAN. POOF! BLANKET PARDON. Go figure. So sorry. 100% BS. There would be a DD-214, redacted but present. Try again. Do you get any VA benefits? A retirement? Special letter from President Nixon stating to draw a check, no questions asked? OK, is that a joke? They do pay for it, millions. I think Dayton ended up spending a big chunk of the family's fortune by the time he bought his seat in MM - something along the tune of $40 million. I'm talking his money - in addition to what was raised. (Don't you wonder why someone would do that?) I'm guessing for most seats at the state level, and all seats at the national level; if you offerred the seat for $5 million they'd end up spending a lot less than on a campaign. But I digress, and I agreed with you - volunteers should have their licenses paid for (out of charges collected from calls). Probably made that $ back in less than a year, not from his salary of course, but his new investments and new friends etc. SO his 40 million spent was a investment too. I do not know if we have a good set of stats on this. In my courses I had about 80% pass (guessing off the top of my head) the whole course the first time through, only using the two eval jumps. The other 20% usually all passed with the repeat. I only had two ever not pass/finish a course. About 75% would opt to do a practice jump prior to the course. I would teach one of the evaluated dive flows to one candidate while the other watched. Then at the 20 minute call I became the student and we executed the jump just like a full blown student jump. On occasion though, I did a time out, to observe a hop and pop (I would teach during those too, bonus untested material so to speak). Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. Isn't "Surplus" a misnomer? We really never had a "surplus" did we? Wasn't it just a increase in debt at a slower rate/faster rate? This argument is like two kids who are playing baseball in the yard, and the batter puts one through the front window. The two of them had complicity in the event, yet the pitcher is blaming the batter for swinging, as the batter is blaming the pitcher for throwing the ball. Lets work on fixing the window.
