It must not be a big deal now, the news stopped talking about it even before the law was voted on and the opposition here stopped once the two parties plans happened to be compared, ans ow and behold, they looked pretty much identical. In the end, it addressed voter fraud, maybe statistically or in your opinion, it was not that big of a deal, some feel the same about seat belt laws, yet we all agree those laws are for the betterment of society. it is cyclic, the parties argue both sides, depending on which will benefit them at the time. Should UAVs be used to kill Mexican Narco Terrorists?

My apologies, I responded to you since you quoted "my line". Pending Unemployment and job hunting has me a bit on edge. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -
Yes, the OP sold us very well! Matt ?? In my shock I typed "No" but she does say in the beginning "almost no regulation". Important to remember that people often remember what they hear first and what they hear last. Yes, You clearly demonstrated that. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. There would be an equal amount of Liberal and Conservative individuals in Jail then. I am cool with that. (I think Manning is Guilty, but I do not have all the evidence either) The purge is supposed to happen periodically any way, yes? Wasn't the Governor blocked from doing this for a period of time and only succeeded in the law being enforced now? The TN law passed, the grand destruction of voter rights, didn't happen, I got my new card in the mail, the list of Photo ID's acceptable was with it, including the waiver system (for those who can show they can't legally get an ID) and a way to get your free Photo ID. Did Republicans deliberately crash the US economy?
matthewcline replied to kallend's topic in Speakers Corner
HLN is claiming a decrease in all economies, nationally and globally, as the reason for the Gas Prices that doubled over the last three year now falling. They claim the economy is stagnant and in many areas still falling. Local news is reporting daily another small business failing. Only large companies with international reaches seem to be "growing". "Almost" the thread title "CBS report states no regulations in skydiving", then the story speaks of the FAA and USPA and even has Ed on. She tried to make it a dramatic story, but then the reporter was far more factual and fair. She tried with her "spot light" and "almost No regulations" comment, but the report did not say "No regulation in skydiving" it said "almost". Since CBS is already getting complaints from "us" I hope they are being factual. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Wow, did not know I was looking for something .... Thank you, that's something I really needed to know in my life. All your snarkiness aside, that was the proper word. This -- doesn't soften the asshattery style tone, and factually incorrect "data" or "chain" in your posts. Matt And this is nothing I was asking for. Just in case you dislike my tone, just skip my posts and read next ones .... I tend too, they are better posts any way. This one just "called to me". Should UAVs be used to kill Mexican Narco Terrorists?
matthewcline replied to Skyrad's topic in Speakers Corner
Yes, and Yes. And others see no value in skydiving. Still others see no value in allowing you to own a firearm. Others see no value in domesticating horses for 'sport'. Just because YOU don't 'see it' does not mean that you are not stepping on others rights. I'm not stepping on anyone's rights. I have yet to see in our constitution or bill of rights, giving someone the right to get high. Just because you want it doesn't mean you're entitled or have the right to do so. Doing dope or booze is a choice not a right. Robbing a bank is not a right it's a choice. Chuck Many say it follows under the "Pursuit of Happiness", just like skydiving, hunting, working, owning a home, riding a horse etc etc. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. I do understand written words in several languages. You too? You, OTOH seem to fail in understanding a law of nature: Chain reaction. One-step-leads-to-the-next. Beeing drunken or on weeds, having a handy, nice little .44 cal in your belt, makes you feel like king of the world. You just pull it out and end the unpleasent discussion with a proper shot. (Of course, not *you*, just an imaginary *you*.) I understand the written word but, it seems you lack imagination (and that in a country where guns are around every corner, where news (papers) are talking about weapon incidents on a daily basis ..... Or you just think everybody around you is an idiot. Much more dangerous. Nice Stereotyping. But you seem to be using the "one in a million" example. FYI "Stoned" is the word you are looking for not "on weeds". Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -
Dropzones with 16 year old age limit
matthewcline replied to SoloDaNINJA's topic in Events & Places to Jump
He may not be referring to manufacturers that are "currently" building rigs. Eclipse comes to mind. I know of a few of those out there still, a few DZ's that use them as well, even one in California, if I am not mistaken that bought all the spares parts and patents so they could keep jumping, with out restrictions. Not sure how that "stirs the pot", but I almost get an implication in the post. Matt When Stunts Adventure Equipment was building the Eclipse tandem rigs, I'm pretty sure that they did have the standard/typical "18 or age of contract" thing in their user agreement. As I understand, the Eclipse Manual was re-typed from the Vector II manual. It included information on the Vector I (no drogue), so I would guess that it also included the age min. That said, the User Agreement, and Manual are two separate documents. I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time. Martin They are two separate documents, one controls the actions of the instructor if he is not also the owner, and the other controls the actions of the owner if he is not the instructor. When I talked to Shoobie in '99, he had the same mind set as Ted an Bill, the stricter rule applies if you're both owner and Instructor, bottom line 18 (or older like in Alabama) to make a tandem. Again we are only talking about US made rigs. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -

....whatever. Any excuse to "justify" stupid shit. Typical 'Merican goobermint. I can't believe all the war mongers in SC. Well, maybe I can. If it is a direct response, to a direct attack. Nothing more, for nothing less. War monger? I like you abore war, cause I like you have fought it. But I, like you, understand there is a time when it is inevitable, and I am not afraid to acknowledge that. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -

Hasn't stopped us before. I think the case could be made for it. I personally wouldn't say I am for it. I would rather defend our borders than "invade" another country's. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -
Mike, I know you think you're right, but the USPA BSRs say otherwise (which would be important if a drop zone is claiming to "follow all USPA & FAA Rules and Regulations."). Specifically, 2-1 D. It says; Source: http://www.uspa.org/SIM/Read/Section2/tabid/164/Default.aspx#21d That [FB] means it's waiverable, but only by the Full Board, not the individual drop zones themselves. Source: http://www.uspa.org/SIM/Read/Section2/tabid/164/Default.aspx#22b And that's not opinion, that's fact, chapter and verse. What that means is that 16 & 17 yo can jump without a waiver from the FB. If you what to jump under 16 yo then you need a FB waiver. to my knowledge - none. At one time circa 1960's the age restriction read 'age of legal majority'. (as published in Parachutist) . So, if USPA made Tandem Gear this would be 100% applicable. Since they do not and the US Rig makers want age of Majority, maybe USPA should realign them selves with the Makers and while they are at it put Altimeters back on the Students, unless the BOD is only diving for dollars now? If you don't get it, you must be a communist hippie sheeple. No other explanation. Finally the trifecta! You're the third person to call me a "Communist hippie", I can sleep easy now! Matt Did any of them mean it as much as I did? lol Probably not, I do not think Glenn Beck or Keith Olbermann mean any thing they say (unless it gets them more money). Dude, you're the one with your eyes closed. Your links don't support your claim. This is not an "Obama is a dictator" event. The Administration and DOJ are not the major players here (I read back thourgh the links and it would appear they asked for no more attention that President Bush, pretty even, and in some cases less ). It is the local municipalities. Open your eyes and read YOUR OWN links. If we are not as "smart" as you, it is because you're failing to educate us as to your point, if there is one other than hatred for the "Black-Muslim-Illegal Alien-Socialist-Dope Smoking-Golf Playing-Basketball Dunking-President". I rarely see much other than hateful "bait posting" from you, this is a prime example of it. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -
Galen has asked me to announce that he has received numerous phone calls from Jo, begging for answers to her questions, but that he does not respond to her calls. He feels this statement will help add some clarity to Jo's pronouncements here. Just what is the PURPOSE of that. I have NOT CALLED GALEN COOK in a long long time. I have NOT BEGGED him for anything. The only reason I have even called him in the last yr was to see HOW HIS book was going...but all I could do was leave a message. This is TYPICAL of COOK - PUPPET MASTER. Bruce he just USED you as his PUPPET! Over the YRS I have provide COOK information and now he has wind of a THREAT so he is COUNTERING! I know who the MOUSE was who fed COOK. What the hell was all that? Threats now? Come on. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

One would think, eventually, Vector Owners will have to join the 21 st Century. Didn't UPT stop making Vector specific parts a while back, maybe 5 to 6 years ago? Won't the parts on hand be down to nill by now, if the main is being done proper? Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
