  1. It is amazing how many hits you get with a post like this. Jealousy is as old as the beginning of recorded time. Just ask all the animals that compete with eachother on the discovery channel.
  2. Sangiro You never did delete my post I requested. I had to ask another moderator from DeLand. 413. That is the number 413.
  3. BURNING MAN. SHOW UP AT BURNING MAN UNDER CANOPY. THAT IS MY GOAL.
  4. Hello Zennie We have'nt parted ways yet I hope. Drunk Dial Forum is UP!!!
  5. Actually the jumps required can be less than 500. However, at such an event you won't see that happen and rightfully so. You should be totally confident and comfortable in freefall long before you even attempt birdsuits in my opinion. Many a birdman have given me that caution.
  6. Thankyou, it was a good reply. I try to forget about the accident but whuffoo family and friends try to fry the incident into my brain. I am moving out of town.
  7. Professionalism: How well they TRAIN & treat you regardless of your experience level. Newcomers should adore you if you do it properly. "Properly" is in they will enjoy many years of skydiving and will always remember their first instructor who showed them the way. Blue Skies !!!
  8. This one is for the psychologists and experienced jumpers. Is it common to see injured and disoriented jumpers apologizing for their actions before the chopper or ambulance arrives? I think about my accident a lot and I was very sorry and apologetic at the time. I still try to figure out why I was apologizing. Maybe it was to myself.
  9. Are we allowed to tell dirty American Jokes ? They are always the best ones to post.
  10. I am glad I have not been in this kind of predicament. Women always have the final decision in matters like these and rightfully so. Birth control and condoms rule!!!
  11. Thanks everybody for the input. Hi Remster, best wishes for a full recovery to your wife. I managed to break both my feet back in March so I had to endure over two months in a wheel chair and it has been a bitch trying to walk on two bad feet. Took a lot of therapy. Hopefully I will fully heal but some mornings I get out of bed and my right foot is stiff as a board.
  12. I am whining for the masses. I do not have a problem taking a hair test. I know I will pass. However, I think hair testing is a bit excessive to become an industry employment standard.
  13. [Your company doesnt want their employees doing drugs. How's that invading your privacy?] It invades your privacy when bible thumping CEOs, BODs, Politicians, and the Federal Govt. start dictating which professionals are qualified to own nice homes, own nice toys and put food on the table based on biological resumes that can detect every nook and cranny from A to Z over the last five years of your life regardless of how much moderation you exercise. As I said, gone are the days of being naughty once in a blue moon. I guess when I visit my relatives in Holland, I will never be able to go to a coffee shop and indulge in legal substances with family on the way to a futbol game.
  14. The word is out. More companies are switching over to the hair test. Oh well, there goes the days of being a little naughty once in a blue moon, like during a vacation or a boogie!! Big Brother is finding more ways to invade your privacy, especially if you want to break into the middle or upper class work force.
  15. Yea, yea, yea. Tell that to my brother who is an officer in the SF for over 20 years now. He is Green beret, ODA, Ranger and spook.
  16. Oh my, I will probably catch hell for saying this but by looking at the assailants it would not surprise me if it was FUBU.
  17. I agree if you can get to it in time. A short barrel automatic 12 gauge is extremely effective in close quarter confrontations of this type.
  18. It never ceases to amaze, shock and outrage me. One man and 3 young men/youths barge into a house with aluminum bats and brutally murder 6 people to the extent that most of the victims could not be identified right away. The whole incident happened over an XBOX and some clothes.
  19. Good job! 13 out of 17 is not a bad start. Appreciate the advice but what I really meant is that landing a canopy is a constant learning process. Especially when you start downsizing and flying different canopies.
  20. Actually, that is a very good question. I have not read up on the revised SIM in a very long time. I am not a coach or instructor so I would not be qualified to answer your question. When I got off of level 8 and surpassed 20 jumps I stopped wearing a helmut. What is it now for a C License? 100 Jumps?? As I became more experienced I started to realize the added safety that comes from wearing a helmut. Helmuts also allow you to utilize all the neat gadgets like cameras and Pro Trackers/dytters, etc. Of course, having a camera on your head is more dangerous than no head gear at all.
  21. I feel like I am about ready to have my foot cut off. Has anybody had their talus shattered and if so what did you do about it medically speaking.
  22. Billy Weber wears a frappe hat and he has well over 10000 jumps. Headgear is optional. As you get more experienced you will decide for yourself what you are comfortable with. The sport is as risky as you make it. I only have a little over 400 jumps but I would suggest a hardhat and a AAD. You never know when you might become unconscious whether bumpity bump off the plane or bumpity bump off of some individual in freefall.
  23. I have over 400 jumps and I am still trying to figure out how to land a canopy. It is tricky business.
  24. Only if you practice, practice, practice. Jump, jump, jump. Wait till you switch over to the dark side. It gets even more difficult and dangerous. That is if you decide to freefly.
