    Jump #250 at Skydive Palatka. Opening shock from hell which snapped 3 lines. Horizon spinning, went to grab toggles and they were not there to be grabbed. Tried to counter spin by pulling on opposite rear riser to no effect. Cutaway at 2000, got stable, pulled reserve and under canopy again at 1200. Landed in front of DZ and bought a case of beer. That mal occurred on the same day I received my D rating.

    I would like to say THANKYOU!!! to all of our armed forces and the veterans of past generations. Your sacrifices, regardless of politics, are what really keeps the heart of this great nation beating. Happy Memorial Day weekend.

    Sean, being angry at myself for making a mental error under flight of canopy that resulted in my being in a wheel chair for over two months does not mean that I don't understand or accept the inherent risks. I love to skydive and will be doing it again soon. Being a little angry once in a while because of bad performance is a common human reaction. Maybe when you are more experienced you won't be misunderstanding it.

    I like SKR's response. Some people have "went in" (bounced) and lived to tell about it, though very rare. I recently went in but it was a somewhat horizontal impact. I don't know if that qualifies for your question but at the time of impact I was going about 40 mph. I will be skydiving again but the rehab is a long and painful process. To answer your question, YES I am very angry. However, what doesn't kill you makes you wiser and stronger. Peace!!!
