I perfectly understand that statement!! My job can get a bit tense at times and just having the release of jumping has helped greatly. There's just something relaxing about letting go of the strut and not thinking about work AT ALL for those few seconds. Some people just can't understand that skydiving is relaxing. Karen

Depends on who they are, what they did and if it truly caused pain or problems or just made them look like a fool.... If they typically are clueless, cocky and arrogant.... probably laugh. (I'm not going to help them change anyway) If they are normal people, just doing something stupid.... probably try to help them fix whatever went wrong with their plan. Dagny, How horrible to not be able to feel safe and comfortable in your home! Especially at a time when you will need an escape from the stress of work/school. I think it would be a great idea.... being biased of course. I can understand the arguments against. But that's still kind of the "elective" inbreeding - whether it's their choice or their parents. The entire population, as a whole, is large enough, but the sub-culture wants to stay within their specific unit, which gives the smaller genetic base. (it's cool to study those populations, but kinda un-cool to see some of those recessive diseases that shouldn't be so common) But even so, females still shouldn't be considered more "valuable" then the males in the groups. (except in regards to OB/GYN practices ... then from a finance point, the women win, cuz you just don't make a lot of money on pap smears for men)

Seriously, I think that life is "valuable" irregardless of whether it's male or female. I do not think that one sex is better than the other. I think the "value" of a person has more to do with his/her character, compassion and ability to help/learn than the fact that they might have an XX or XY. Even the "as a species" arguement is outdated.... We have a large enough poplulaiton base, no concerns with the Hardy-Weinberg priniples and we are in no danger of non-elective inbreeding (except maybe in the deep south - but that's more the elective choice). Should there be "gentlman" and "ladies" etiquette? I think some girls favor those acts and thus the guy might score higher if he's looking to impress her. But does it help society? probably not. You should hold the door for whomever might be there or give up your seat to anyone that needs it more.... not based on sex. I think that a lot of the defensive posturing about this concept has more to do with beliefs that some might have about a SPECIFIC member of the opposite sex. When talking about someone you love, then you do want them protected and cherished.... but that's because of who they are, not just the fact that he/she is a male or female. Anyway, just my thoughts (and possibley influenced by the cold medicines)
