Those UFC fighters are a LOT bigger in person!
GQ_jumper replied to GQ_jumper's topic in The Bonfire
I chatted with Sobral for a few minutes tonight while I was at the club and I have to admit I was surprised at how big he is. You see him in all his fights and he looks like a little guy, I figured I'd have a few inches on him, but when he stood up to introduce himself he had at least 2.5" on me. Friendly as hell though, my tattoo artist introduced me to him, and his girlfriend seemed to have an obsession with my tats, they were both a couple of really nice people. So that was my night History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower -
And that's all there is to say about that!! I haven't done any flying in te last few months besides a few for work, I'm so happy ps, it's ok if you're jealous History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower

Yeah........America is so bad in Iraq......
GQ_jumper replied to freeflir29's topic in Speakers Corner
If only a few more like this guy would sign up for the IRAQI army. Quote Actually the Iraqi army has countless people like this, there are quite a few great and dedicated soldiers in the Iraqi army, especially up north where the majority of them are former Peshmerga, I'll roll with those guys any day. The majority of Kurds seem to have a similar attitude, they want to do their part to help make a difference, I love the Kurds History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. The dive pool for the rookie class only consists of the random formations, there are 16 of them. the random formations are simply individual formations, the sequences for each jump in the rookie class are 3 formations long. The A class introduces some of the easier blocks, there are 8 of them(2,4,6,7,8,9,19,21), the blocks are a series of two formations with a defined movement(inter) in between, the A class sequences are 3-4 points. If you are just getting into 4 way I would recomment looking for a rookie team for your first year, it's a great way to learn, if you can afford it get yourself into one of the Airspeed basic tunnel camps, there's a good chance you will come out of one of those camps with the skill to fly all the A class blocks. Whatever you choose don't forget to have fun, 4 way is addicting and get lots of coaching, also get your hands on some 4 way videos if you can, the nsl website has tons of them, watching videos and calling off the formations as you see them is a great way to help you learn them. good luck Dive Pool NSL Website History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Randy"The Natural" Cotoure coming out of retirement to fight Sylvia
GQ_jumper replied to GQ_jumper's topic in The Bonfire
I can't wait to start seeing PRIDE fighters in the UFCQuote Well we now have Cro Cop, Silva, and Jackson here in the UFC, so we're getting all the best, throw in Sakuraba and we got ourselves a monopoly on talent!! Randy"The Natural" Cotoure coming out of retirement to fight Sylvia
GQ_jumper replied to GQ_jumper's topic in The Bonfire
Ken was a burnout, Randy is far from that, most guys just kind of mentally tap out at 40 whether they like it or not, but there are those few who can continue to push it and I think Randy is one of them. It's a trait very common in wrestlers, they train like no other, Matt Hughes, Tito, and Randy all probably have some of the hardest training regimine's in the game History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Randy"The Natural" Cotoure coming out of retirement to fight Sylvia
GQ_jumper replied to GQ_jumper's topic in The Bonfire
He announced it last night, Randy has gone back up to the heavyweight class and is now coming back out of retirement to get the belt out of Sylvia's hands. As much as I think someone should stay in retirement after a career like he had this is exactly what the heavyweight division needs. Sylvia might have fought hard to get the belt but since he got it his fights have left a lot to be desired, he doesn't fight to win anymore, he fights not to lose. I hope Randy crushes him. Could you post a link that shows what the Israeli system is, I'm kind of interested into what they are talking about. Also, RPG's aren't all that hard to defeat, people up high are just choosing the technically advanced expensive answer over the perfectly effective cheap one that looks really ugly but works. Putting pressure on Muqtada Al Sadr and forcing him into a purely political stance would make little difference, he is nothing more than a face man for a much bigger power. The militia that carries his name however is responsible for a good portion of the violence goin on in Baghdad and they have been hiding behind the political screen for a while. Last time I was there we weren't allowed to touch them unless we took direct fire from them, we always found them doing all kinds of things but were always turned back by higher. Al Sadr is just playing the game to keep us off his back, it strikes me as funny though that someone who is only trying to act in a political sense would bring top insurgent cell leaders into his mosques to have meetings, or was the stack of weapons I pulled off his cell leaders when I rolled into one of their prayer time meetings actually political tools disguised as weapons? The guy I regularly fly with owns a farm in southern Illinois. He receives a sizeable annual payment from the feds on condition that he grows NOTHING. Nice to think that some of my tax dollars go to make him even wealthier than he already is. Quote I agree that there are flaws in the system, but it seems a few people on here are pointing to everyone who gets paid for this as being rich landowners making a hefty living off the government. My father gets paid to not grow certain crops, I saw the amount of his payments, it's a mere fraction of what he would make if he really were growing those crops, the only good that money does him is give him a bit more to help work the cattle he raises. Subsidies are not completely wasted on the rich, take a drive around my home county sometime, you'll see plenty of ranchers that are barely scraping by and they are all in the system. Apparently everyone missed the part where I said that comparing a blizzard to Katrina wasn't exactly an even trade-off. I didn't fall for some "right-wing email hoax". it was the basic context of the letter I was pointing out, when the blizzards hit CO and a state of emergency was declared by the state government nobody expected anything from the state, everyone got up and did something about it themselves and nobody expected a thing in return. I'm sure it's out there but have never personally seen it in a civilian round, the only round I have ever seen it in was anti-tank rounds. I guess a few people on here have found it based on their posts, so can we find out what it's for? History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower

I found this on myspace, I know comparing our recent blizzards to Katrina isn't exactly an even playing field, but the basic context should open a few eyes. History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower

Shit, I've only been in the Army shy of three years, and already my ERB is incomplete, there's a whole medical packet that's missing (the one they built while I was being MEDEVACed from Iraq to the US) and I couldn't tell you if I've been charged for leave I've taken. Quote According to my ERB I'm some babies daddy!!! no BS!! It says I have a dependant, I'm wondering how long it's going to be before they start deducting part of my paycheck to pay for my invisible kid History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. In SF there's really only one thing that matters, and that's team time, a lot of the CSM's I know never did their instructor time. I wouldn't mind doing it, I just don't want to end up trudging around the woods 29 days a month teachin knuckleheads. If I'm going to be forced to step away from a team I want a real break. Shit Dude talk to SKYMONKEYONE! Quote I try not to associate myself with midget fluffers come on chuck I know you're out there Actually Chuck has given me tons of info on where to find jobs over there, I just need to make a few calls. The big thing, my Group CSM came up to me the other day and asked what my plans were, he said I should pick where I want to go now instead of leaving it to chance and going where the Army sends me(I've been lucky to have been on a team for this long without getting snagged to go elsewhere, i'm really pushing my luck right now being the SR weapons guy in the comapny in terms of time on station), so if I figure it out and let him know he promised to make the calls to get me the assignment I wanted. I was going to ask for a staff position so I could work on a project I'm starting up in NC without being interrupted but I know him well enough that he wouldn't be too happy hearing me say I want to go sham. He did however say he thought I would make a great instructor, really he just wants to see me do something that will allow me to still contribute to the force until I come back to a team, that's why I'm looking at the weapons committe. It's not that bad. Raeford is right around the corner. Quote That's half the reson I'm headin out there, right now I'm in the process of finding an assignment out there.
