  6. however you are the one who decided to baby sit on New Years Quote Actually I was trying to partake in the festivites as well, i just can't stand seeing people try to pick fights with my buddies, and I hate watching my friends argue over stupid crap because they are drunk. It's a crappy gig but at least everyone made it home safe. that's all that really matters History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  7. Yes, it's a gift, oh BTW if you consider your whiny post about being THE GUY who saved all his mates and their girl firends a positive post...you'd be mistaken Quote I was merely trying to remind everyne that it would be nice to thank their designated driver, History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. 9. I don't understand this. Why would a woman's infantry unit be less effective than a men's infantry unit? Quote IMO Bill, even if they were trained to the level of any other infantry unit sometimes an excessive amount of testosterone in the ranks is what you need, honestly. One of our teams rolled up an insurgent who was formerly an Iraqi national wrestling champ, he was unarmed but got froggy and the guy that got tied up with him had a bit of trouble handling him, and he's a pretty good size operator. I also did a hit in Sadr city and I honestly believe the only reason I'm alive is because of how much I stunned this guys bodyguards when I came in the room slammed a guy into the wall as he was making a break for the door and started grabbing guys one handed and tossing them into the ground while they were reaching for weapons, the room was so small, not to mention my teammates were on the other side of the wall I would have been shooting towards, if I had shot instead of using brute force to dominate the room a lot of people would have died, myself included. Tossing guys over walls when you're trying to get into a house without being heard also takes quite a bit of strength, especially with all the gear on, Ijust don't think you would be able to find enough women out there to outfit an entire unit, like I said before there are those select few out there who are probably stronger than a lot of guys out there, but they are few and far between. When you are up close and personal there is a lot of intimidation factor involved with clearing buildings, and big barrel chested freedom fighters just have a little bit more of that. 13. When I worked at a night club a few months back it surprised me that they didn't always have a car or two out front, they did sometimes. The majority of the trouble did however happen about two streets over at a different club, and we also had a reputation for not allowing situations in our club to escalate to the point where the cops needed to be involved. When the did however have cars out front they would wait for the ones that would go screeching off swerving everywhere or hit another car in the parking lot, they overlooked quite a few tipsy people and I feel did a good job of picking the really bad ones to go after. Either way though, breaking the law is breaking the law, and if they don't see anyone swerving everywhere and they happen to see someone who is only slightly over the limit, hey, they broke the law. 14. To die protecting your brothers and sisters without regret is the highest act of bravery regardless if it is in war,*** That's all I was trying to say too, I'm sorry I misunderstood what you were trying to get across to me. I do however still disagree that someone getting killed in an IED blast isn't dying for something, the way I see it is that you are doing your job, and if you get killed doing it then it's honorable. What I see as a pointless death is when a rocket lands in the Green Zone and all the officers who spend their entire tour working in the embassy and never once leave the gate run over to the impact site to get pictures so they can show them off and look like a badass cause they were in a rocket attack and then a few seconds later another one comes in and takes them out. 15. You fight to stay alive. The initial reason means very little when someone is trying to kill you. Especialy when the reason was a bold face lie. Quote Like I said before, NO SOLDIER DIES FOR NOTHING, I don't give a fuck if you like the war or not, that is your choice and you have very right to feel the way you do about it. But whether you support the war or not, when someone is on the battlefield they are fighting to protect their teammates, they are fighting for the men and women next to them, and when you make the ultimate sacrifice you did so that those who stood next to you wouldn't have to, whether I agree with the reason I have spent a good deal of my life in combat or not I have something to fight for when I'm out there, I'm there for the guys I see every morning when I go into work, the ones that go home every night to a wife and kid, the ones that invite me over to their place to spend xmas with their family because I live alone, I fight for them and when this war finally catches up with me I didn't die for nothing, I gave it all for my friends. 17. the answer - Dont drink and act like a twat Quote ya know what though, I do it because I love the girls I'm friends with, with all my heart. I do it to take care of them, if I don't do it no one will, because their boyfriends choose to let their tongues slip when they argue with them, or they're too drunk to notice the guy trying to grab their lady. You're lucky to have friends that don't bring this shit on you, hang on to em History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  18. and you almost described my evenings to a TQuote and you never even got a thank you did you? sux doesn't it, taking 30 seconds of of their busy life to pick up the phone and say thanks for taking that punch after that guy slapped my girlfriend on the ass is too god damn much to ask Chivalry isn't dead, it's just ignored History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. 19. 3000 Americans have died for nothingQuote I'm not going to get into an argument about Iraq, I just wanted to comment on this part of your statement. Whether the action they are killed in is "the good war" or not, no soldier who dies in combat dies for nothing. Whether you support the cause or not, these men and women were still out there fighting for someone, their teammates, the guy standing next to them, the one who gets to go home to their family because one of their brothers in arms took the bullet for them. I don't care if we are fighting a popular war or one that everyone chooses to protest, when soldiers step onto the battlefield they fight for something. 20. I agree with everything you said, it's just when you are in a club like the one he was in, there usually aren't too many rational people, you are surrounded by people who feel the need to settle disputes with guns History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  21. You know I loved watching him play and this truly sux. But I am going to say that he most likely brought it on himself, after the shit I saw last night I have decided that no one that gets into a fight doesn't deserve what they get, they always instigate it because they are drunk and stupid, it just sucks that the guys he started shit with happened to be the ones who were carryin in their car, pretty fuckin cowardly if you ask me. Also, looking at the story, I know exactly which club they were leaving, and this doesn't surprise me that someone would do soemthing like this there. I've been in that club before and I spent the entire evening looking over my shoulder wondering who was going to shank me. UFC 66

I agree completely that it didn't NEED to be stopped, but look at it for a second from the ref's standpoint, Tito wasn't doing anything and all you could see was him getting hit in the head, I didn't see the shots weren't connecting with his face until later when we saw it in slow mo on the replay, I'll bet you thought the same thing when it was going full speed, that Tito was getting pounded, kind of like the second fight with Ken, yeah he stood up right away but while he was on the ground he wasn't doing anything he was just getting hit and laying there, the ref thought he was out and had to do it to save him. I remember the ref looking at Tito a few times and almost jumping in but stepping back when he saw tito's eyes. He only did his job. 23. How profound.... we couldn't get wrecked cos all the bars shut at 11pm. 24. How's about you call up your buddy who had a shitty night because he was too busy babysittin you and watchin your back and thank him. Don't forget, for every group of friends who has a great night at the the club, there is one guy in the back of the group who gets ignored that spends his night running around, pulling drunk assholes off your girlfriend, talking guys out of kicking YOUR ass so you don't have to deal with it, carrying you to his car because you can't drive, running your drunk ass to IHOP at 3AM because you want to keep the party going and then after he gets home leaves the house again to pick you up and take you to meet up with the girl you ran into last night. And the reason he has the spare time to save the world for you, because he's too busy covering your mistakes to have a life of his own. Just take a second to think about it, I'll bet every one who had a great night last night if they think really hard can remember who stayed sober in their group to babysit everyone, he's the guy that seemed a little stressed at the end of the night while everyone was falling over and slapping him saying, "lighten up dude" like he's just in a bad mood because he wants to be. give him a call and say thanks, a few simple words go a long way. Have a great year everyone History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  25. What I intended to challenge in the quote was the idea that it doesn't matter if women are better marksmen (markswomen, markspeople... heh), but the notion that it doesn't matter because they're more likely to "lose everything when they are under pressure." Quote No, looking back I can see how I could've stated that a bit better, it wasn't intended specifically towards women, that statement applies to bother sexes equally. It doesn't matter how good anyone is, if you don't take the extra second under fire to take a deep breath and settle yourself your shooting skills are crap take care History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D.
