  2. well first i'd like to say good luck to canuckinusa when he start flying his new canopy, i've heard you talking about it a lot in other posts, be safe and long swoops bro!! then my success story... like every young invincible badass such as myself i felt that i should take up swooping on my own without the beinifit of coaching around jump 50. so as every exceptional A license swooper does i started with some toggle whips thinking i had this recovery arc thing down!!!!! fortunately i went up to one of the instructors at my dz one day and asked him what to do next. he told me i needed to learn how the canopy reacts as it comes out of a dive before i start making big turns. so he had me start doing double fronts(and kept an extremely close eye on me the whole time). which is where i still am, i am incredibly consisten with this. and at the end of every day take a second to discuss what i saw and learned that day. he tells me what to look for what to focus on, and has explained to me what the next step is going to be and how i am going to make this happen. and as much as i'd like to start whipping out 180s or more i hold myself back and don't go beyond what he has taught me. he goes out of his way to do a lot to help me, in more than just swooping so i don't go against what he says. 8. no shit there i was trying to put myself the minimum safe distance from a breaching charge i had just placed to blow a gate, the charge had a less than 4 second delay, as i turned to take a few steps i tried to walk over the pile of gravel behind me and fell straight into it. only 4 feet from the charge, less than half of the minimum distance, i manage to roll myself over the pile of gravel, and being behind the gravel was enough to keep me from getting a faceful. the charge went off and we hit the house inside, and somwhere through that house i managed to smash me elbow good. didn't feel it for about another hour though. but it still hurts and my ears are still ringing cause this happened about 4 hours ago. and now its time for me to get some sleep cause i was up all night causing mayhem. 11. *** you forgot to say no shit there i was....every self respecting single person in this country has to have something like that happen at least once, or more than once in my case!! no shit there i was dropping off a girl i had picked up at the bar. she's giving me directions to her house when suddenly i realize i just drove onto fort benning. i knew she wasn't in the military so that could only mean one thing if she lived on post. she was married to someone that was. she made up some BS excuse i can't remember for why i had to drop her off a block away from her house. and as she climbed out of the car at 5am i noticed an angry looking man standing about a block away. i got back to the barracks with just enough time to get changed and make it to first formation, and as i was walking out the door my phone rigns, i answer and there is an angry man on the other end asking why there is a phone number for a guy named dan in his wifes pocket. my name was richard for the rest of the week. 12. one of the best nights of drinkin red bull and vodka i ever had was after i had spent the day in a hypobaric chamber depressurized to 38000 feet didn't have o2 for part of the time so i got incredibly hypoxic. after that, i had 0 tolerance for alcohol the rest of the day, so drinking that night was incredibly cheap. unfortunately it was the night that one of my friends was paying for all my drinks caus he lost a bet to me. so he got off easy on the tab. i was kinda pissed!! 18. *** well the deal with that hun is that i didn't exactly pay for the red bull that i'm stashing!!! it was bought with the money that we are given to buy food off the local economy. when i saw it come in i snagged the cases before anyone else saw them and hid them in my room. i was actually thinking ab out hiding them in a rocket launcher like a red bull pez dispenser, but they didn't fit!! They had been watching me the whole time because some neighbor had reported a loud party and they were checking it out. No shit there I was, asleep in bed in my barracks room with the girl I was dating, when in walks her husband, his commander, and my first sergeant.
