    I am taking a homework break and looking through this book of questions that I have. I found one question that I thought might be fairly thought provoking... (and somewhat related to sex) so.. (and I modified it slightly) If you were to meet someone that you were very attracted to, physically, mentally, etc., that you respected and then you found out that they were in a relationship.. How would that affect your actions? Would you continue to pursue them? Would it matter to you if they were very satisfied in their relationship vs. not so satisfied? Now I'm not talking everyday attraction, but like, Wow! kind of stuff.     It was probably the stupid thing I did a few months ago. I was crouched down precariously in some weird position at the top of the stairs leading down to my house, balancing on tip toes, hugging my knees and talking on the phone and I just freaking fell backwards down all of the stairs (concrete) and scraped a big ol' chunk of skin off my leg. This reply has taken me so long to write..     My thousandth jump was pretty cool. I felt super special. But I think that my proudest moment was after my first AFF jump, doing everything perfectly, right after the parachute opened. That moment right there where I started flying my parachute for the first time. Awesome.     Thats part of the beauty of it. The real beauty of it is that one speech sound = 1 symbol. Instead of our current system, where to form the sound that the Fonz makes ("ay") it could be spelled: a, eigh, ay, ey... and probably other ways that I am forgetting. Time to go study more.     I think that we, as English speakers, should make a movement to adopt the International Phonetic Alphabet. No wonder we have trouble figuring out how to spell new words in English. It makes no sense most of the time. We've kept ancient spellings, but use modern pronunciations that should be reflected in our writing.     To the people who own guns, I am curious. Are you really that concerned with your safety? I mean... c'mon.. really.. how many people do you know who have actually HAD to use a gun in self-defense? I think a better protection of personal safety would be to invest in a home security system, live in an area with lower crime rates, carry pepper spray, use common sense, don't do hard-core drugs like meth, don't sleep around with married people.. and exercise common sense. If you have a gun to use for hunting, or recreation (at gun clubs and on private property and such) then go for it! Hooray! Go out and shoot things. But if you actually own a gun because you're so worried about your safety, there are probably other more effective steps you could take to make yourself more safe.
