I had typed a really long post.. but I decided to summarize everything I was trying to say in a much more succint manner. Get more sleep. Regular exercise will help you accomplish this. No studying between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am. Teach yourself the concepts by taking notes and then teaching other people. If you can teach someone else a concept, you most likely will have mastered it. Use office hours. While there, get your questions answered and stroke the teachers ego a bit. A properly flattered teacher will open up about what is on the tests. A 'B' is not the end of the world. On a consistently busy day working from about 10:30am to 9:30 pm I could make about 400-500. I took about 5 minutes to pack sport rigs and student rigs and under 10 to pack a tandem. It was pretty sweet those days when I worked hard enough to make rent in one day. But then I had to go and screw up my knee. I pop my boyfriend's zits!! When I was first granted this priveledge I took advantage of it and tried to pop every little bump on his face. He ended up with a bloody face. Now I am allowed to pop one zit a day. The rules are, I can't save them up and pop 7 all on one day, if I forget to pop one, that's it. Other rules, if I try to sneak two pops in one day, no pops the next day. Absolutely no scratching is allowed, just one chance to pop. If the zit doesn't pop on my one attempt, I have to wait until the next day. When I'm being a really good girlfriend I may get two pops. However, the doling out of extra pops is up to the discretion of my boyfriend. Is it weird that we have this system worked out? Just do skydiving. The kids in your class will be falling asleep for probably the majority of the presentations. No matter how well prepared you are, it completely sucks to give a speech and have to watch a bunch of lazy bastards nodding off right in front of you. You will get maximum audience retention if you talk about something "cool" like skydiving. I did when I had to take a speech class, and it was cool to actually be able to see some enthusiasm about the topic from other students in the class. It made the public speaking thing so much easier. But if you want to challenge yourself and watch a bunch of 19 year old brats falling asleep on you.. go for it. Edited to add: I'm feeling jaded about my classmates today. I tried out for America's Funniest Home Videos when I was ~10 when they came to the local mall. My special skill was playing 2 recorders out of my nose. (I even did harmony.) Frankly, I don't think a couple of extra college requirements are going to have an effect on the obesity epedimic. Besides, I do not think that is what college is for. I would be really irritated if my college required that. I go to school to learn in order to support my future career. A class in weight training or something would not assist me in my future career. Not to mention I already have a work out routine that I adhere to. College is not the place to try and fix the obesity epedimic. Not to mention the fact that an education is already so costly in this country, but people at that age are already fairly set in their ways. Habits need to be changed earlier on to have any sort of tangible effect. Cafeterias in elementary school need to have good, fresh, healthy options. PE classes in elementary school should not be sacrificed in order to spend more time studying for a standardized test. I need more coffee before I try to develop a better argument. I'm glad you said that. I realize that I have high expectations, but I feel like with some patience, diligence and research, that I can get what I want. My boyfriend is of the opinion that I have passed up several very good deals and am just being unrealistic. Frankly, I'm the one who has been checking the blue book values, reading consumer reports and doing all of the research, so I feel like yeah, I'm lowballing them, but one of those good deals might come through very favorably for me and the time and effort will have paid off. I picked the rav-4 and the CRV based on the reviews from consumer reports. I would rather get one of those with slightly higher miles on it than get something else. For 6,500-7000 what do you think are reasonable expectations that I could have for one of those two cars? Miles and year wise.
