I think that you should always get a second opinion on something big like that. I've had an arthroscopic procedure done on my knee, but it was in conjunction with open knee surgery on the other side of that knee so I can't tell you about healing time. Hmm.. Reminds me of the time that someone stole my car with my cellphone and lots of skydiving gear in it. Vigil has had too many problems that have taken them too long to address (or they have completely failed to address), thus comprising the safety of all users of the Vigil. I'm not even talking about misfires - although that is a HUGE issue! I'm talking about the cutter doing damage to reserve closing loops and increasing the users chance of having a premature because their closing loop was worn out by the cracked plastic inside the cutter. I feel bad for her watching that! I think it was a stage fright thing. I've had plenty of experience with stage fright turning my brain to mush. When I used to work as a cashier in retail I would get so nervous having people watch me do basic math when making change. I always wanted to tell them, listen, I'm great at math, I have aced every math class in my entire life and I can do this stuff no problem--- as long as an impatient stranger isn't watching me! :10:4 I had an awesome weekend!! I finished summer school on Thursday, went fly fishing that evening and caught my first fish! Then did some tandem video (always excellent fun) with some nice landings. This morning I got up at the crack of dawn (5:00!) with my boyfriend to go fly fishing. I caught 3 more fish for a total of 4 just this week! Wooo! This evening we found a nice house to rent out next year and just got the call that we got the place - major stress reliever. Right now I am practicing tying flies. Kick ass weekend all around!

Our dog Jonah has had a couple of bouts with pancreatitis. Before that happened, I didn't know how dangerous it is to feed human food to dogs. We're not sure that is what caused his pancreatitis, and we weren't terrible about feeding him scraps, but it is definitely a behavior that we have eliminated now. Anyways.. Jonah had pancreatitis for the first time about 2 years ago, now he is 13. The recovery was substantial and we had to really baby him and feed him liquids through a turkey baster at some points. He looked absolutely miserable to us, but sure enough, he recovered really well! Now the only thing that slows him down is his arthritis, but that is to be expected for a dog his size and age. He has lost about 15 pounds since the first time he had pancreatitis and is now in pretty good shape. You may have seen him roaming around the bar at lost prairie, or swimming at the rope swing, he was the big, black, lab-husky mix. Anyways, just wanted to let you know that our dog had pancreatitis and is now doing fine. Good luck with Dixie. I hope she comes out of it just like Jonah did. Follow your vet's directions to a t! It would depend on a number of factors as to whether I rode the plane down or not. I would consider the wind direction and whether it was going to produce a lot of turbulence in the landing area, whether it was indicative of a storm (and worse wind) that was coming, how many outs I would have on the downwind side of the landing area in case winds increased and the spot was off. If I didn't expect turbulence in the landing area to be bad and the winds seemed stable, I would jump in that. That is still within my comfort zone - if it were for a demo or something like that though, at a new, tight landing area, I might decide not to jump. That wasn't a picture from the wedding jump. For my gift to Heather at her Bridal Shower I offered to take some pictures of them that they would be able to frame, so we did a three way together for that. (Well, 2 way with video.) I actually think that someone deleted my pictures from the wedding jump, so it's a really good think that Joe was there to video that. I only made it back to the Brewery because I took the center on the first break-off; 5,500. I didn't make a single turn and landed right next to the far end of the runway!
