  1. Hi pi, You got it!! "Jungle rules!" pretain to everything! In getting or doing pie, "Anyone can pie or get pied for anything.. or nothing for that matter!" (See previous pie posts) There can also be side issues too. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  2. Hi ail, "Buying Beer" is not an "A" license thing nor is it an "AFF thing," it's an "ANY-THING!!!!!!!!!!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  3. Hi the, Sorry to hear that you are upset about your troops "missing out." Oh well. Check the archives for other pie threads... too much fun!! One thing about Pie Rules is that there are really NO RULES!!!! just "JUNGLE RULES!!" so beware!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  4. Hi jep, Think about it? You are doing things to your body Skydiving that momanature never intended! We are "ground bound bi-peds" that havn't been bi-peds that long-in the evolutionary sense. Our backs and ankles take a beating at this "Sport" I wonder why?? If your back hurts a little, have it checked out. Work out, go to the gym, be careful and don't break anything!! Be glad you didn't pound in under a beat up 28' C-9 7-TU!! Combat boots and good PLF's were NECESSARY!!" not optional back when!! 'Just love the nice slide my sneakers accross the turf under my Stiletto 190!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  5. Hi Tuna, "That Smell.. That keroscene smell.. it smells like...ALTITUUDE!!!!!!!!" The sound of Turbine engines starting..you bet and add the sound of those old "Big Round Engines" on those DC-3's and Beech 18's from daze gone by!! ...play on Gypsys, play on.... SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  6. Hi Xpert, Slaves to whom???? Dogs may have owners as the saying goes, but Cats have "Staff!!" Starting with Angel Food McSpade (Solid Black fe. 14 yrs), Lucky (Another solid Black fe. 9 yrs), Jethro (Orange tabby ma, 7 yrs) Chuckey Blue (Solid Grey Ma, 1 1/2 yr) and Pumkin (orange tabby fe, about 5 mos) In the house, outside, paw at the door and they like to come and go thru the window in the laundry room, it's convenient. Just took 'em all to the Vet for their shots updated... Don't ask what the bill was, and you think Skydiving gear is getting expensiive!!?? SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  7. Hi 377, I've seen many video's of C-130's and C'5's unloading a drop but an ICBM out of that thing!!!!!!! Think of the CG shift with the ICBM 1/2 way off the Tail ramp?? SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  8. Hi seeker!! Add a bunch of Roman Candles to the lower edge of the seat for added roll stability and more "bling-bling" at night!! 'Ya can set up a couple on the control lines at the end cells for added effect!! Also have a bunch of chemlites set up inside the navigator to leak all over the canopy on opening , now we're talkin UFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! News at 11!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  9. Hi seeker, SURE!!!!! Do you want to mount it in your car?? That would be fun!! Is your car a convertable, if not, you'll have to make a big hole in the roof. BTW, you'll have to make a failsafe-override so if you pull the yellow handle while going under an overpass on the hiway it won't go off!! (for obvious reasons!!!!) The fun trip is finding parts!! Oh don't worry, we can raid the auto parts store and junkyard and jury-rig them. The ordnance is probably shot so we'll have to use a bunch of Chinese bottle rockets to get you off the ground!! The rockets won't have the "push" the ordnance had so go on a diet and get real skinny!! If the canopy that's in it is still any good you can use that or just replace it with your main. Main? BTW what do you jump for a main, reserve?? Where do you jump (home DZ)?? Hmmmmmm?? BTW when you run it we'll have to set up video's at the end of the runway to document your flight and when you don't make it, we'll have info to submit to "The Darwin Award!!!!!" 10. Hi Pops, No I don't have a Tandem Video, They didn't have Tandems or Video (for that matter) in 1964 when I made my first jump!! Some people were around with "Kodak Brownie cameras" and did get some "Black and White!!" photos of my first jump along with my other(Southland Skydivers, Hammond La.) club buddy Doug Champagne.. Still have the photo album BTW.. 'Have several other photo albums, a shoe box full of Log Books, a beer case box of VHS video's of my skydives and other DZ shots, and 1/2 of my garage with other aviating and Skydiving stuff that my wife threatens to haul off to the dump if I don't "organize" it!! Rule #1 of being a Rigger..."Don't ever throw anything away that you think you may be able to use later!!"... So,.. it's hard to FAKE being somebody else when I'm just ME!! Dougie antied up "a case of Beer!!" I have a "Case of Video's" and maybe we can get together at the BAR sometime , drink the beer and laugh at the antics on some of these "Un edited" "The Big Eye Don't Lie!!" videos that some of which go back to the early 80's!!......"I'm Bill Deli and I approved this message!!!!" 11. Hi broke, Not hardly, the star would fall apart!! The French SCR is the French R/W achievement award. And so the story goes, some years ago at Old Elsinore a bunch of jumpers were trying to get Larry Yohn (lost his left leg in a motorcycle crash) his "French SCR." I was looking for a hop and got on the load. It seems that at the time in France if you had "any" body parts (arms, legs, even part of a finger!!) missing, the FPA (French Parachute Assoc.) would NOT let you jump there. So, to qualify for the "French SCR," 2 jumpers on the load had to have French SCR's in this case it was Bill Hallum and Sandy Callahan. The idea being that armed with the French SCR, Larry who was going back to France could "Prove" his ability in the air and they would let him jump there!! As I recall, Al (Capt. Hook!!) Krueger and his brother Bud were involved too. They were also trying out this new fangled air-to-ground video sys. (Kinda like the ones they used at the Seoul Olimpic Rings Dive) We had lots of fun and this was also the first(I know case of beer) time I docked on Al and picked up the "HOOK!!" Well, we got the SCR but Larry went low, (sorry about that) 'Twas a year or so later when the French 4-way girls team was at Perris to train. One of them was the secretary for the French SCR and either Al, Bill or Sandy approached them about our endeavour and she wrote up our apps. and we got the card and the French SCR patch. That's the deal. 'Ya don't hear much anymore about things like French SCR's WSCR's (women's SCR) And if it wasn't for Roger, everyone would think a "Freak Brother" was one of those furry cartoon characters from the 60's!! 'Dug out Log#7 Jump#863, 12JUN77, Elsinore, DC-3, Wonderhog/Stratostar, 11000', 55SD,7hr,37mn,39sec, 12-Round try French SCR, Me, Bill Hallum, Sandy Callahan, D-Ray, Larry Yohn, Al Krueger, Gary Young, Barry Stenger, Mike Klandorf,Randy Irson, Nicky Lewis, ??....Got 10 in Gary and Larry out, went out #4, went low, got back up and closed #10. Got a kiss pass with Sandy. Next jump same line up except my wife Chris was in for Mike, Star built to 7 with Barry Stenger on wrists at breakoff. So what else do you want to know??.... BTW, If you still think I'm a lying sack of s#$%t then check out the names that I posted some of whom you know who they are unless you are a total geek!! Give them a call and ask them!!! 12. Hi Dougie, Slam me upside the head with a great big whuffo pie why don't ya!!! If you really think I'm a whuf then I guess I've been living a great big lie all these years like all those other psychopathic liers! Only trouble is that all the people I've Skydived with over the years must be psychopathic liers too!!!! Now, lets see, these are licenses and wings that I "DON'T" have...Got that? B-4240, C-3114, D-6009, SCR-2034, SCS-680, AFF JM & I, GW-1367, DW-532, DDW-451, 12HR-757, 24HR-210, 36HR-147, 48HR-168, 60HR-230, POPS#3305 Freak Brother# 1495, French SCR 1024, WSCR-371, member in good standing with AIR TRASH, oh yes and USPA# "356"...My last parachute job before I "retired" in May was with SunPathContracting in Raeford where I was a final inspector for Military and Sport "Javelins" 'ya can ask Pat and Derick and I'm sure they'll say they never knew me!!,and before I worked for Irvin, I worked for Weber Aircraft in Burbank CA on the ACES II ejection seat program and Douglas Aircrafr Co in Long Beach, CA also on the ACES II ejection seat program and before that for Grumman Aerospace Bethpage NY on the F-14 IRAN program back in '76 in Iran. And if you've ever seen the twin tailed Tomcat insignia with the Tomcat sporting two tails and the gun belt to you I say the saying at the bottom,"ANYTIME BABY!!!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  13. Hi Nick, Thanks! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  14. Hi Red, You'll have a great time at Raeford!! Great bunch of troops. As "Mouth" said,"Beware of the Dragon!!" They'll check you out on that, it's the quirky winds that bend around the tree line. Just remember that your primary job is to make your instructors "Look Good!!" If you do that then you look better!!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  15. Hi porpoishead, Looks like you have found,"The Knife!!" I will check them out!!! Thanks! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  16. Hi bird, Not really particular, Case, Craftsman, Camillus, K-Bar, Buck, as John Rich says,"A Sharp one!!!!!" Doesn't matter who made it as long as it's good steel and can hold an edge for a while. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  17. Hi Andy, Always have since I was old enough to figure out how to open a jack knife without cutting my self with it!! My current favorite is a Camillus 3 blade stock knife with wood sides. I have a holder made out of a piece of folded T/VII webbing on my belt. 'Keeps from wearing a hole in my pocket. Got a bunch more, small to large. Two things a man can't have too many of, "Guns" and "Knives!!" BTW When I'm on my way to "NO-NO ZONES" eg airports, court houses etc, I leave it in my truck!!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  18. Hi WL7, Never mind the rethoric, the visuals were the message... like did you dig that flaming "Gitmo Orange" pantsuit!!! Dude, that was a statement!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  19. Hi Rasta-man!!!, Dig it dude, like there's this tune we used to sing when I was in the 4th grade,"My Father's name was Ferdinan and my Mother's name was Lizer.. so when I came into this world they caled me "Fertalizer" !!!!!!LOL"....The beat goes on!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  20. Hi 111, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been in your shoes more than once, got the T-shirt,.... GOT THAT!!!! They're everywhere!! It's too easy to just get involved, go thru the course, make some jumps and "Be a Skydiver!!" NOOOOO! Some of these people can't. Nuf said! I can still "Show Up!" at the DZ, hang over intact, get on the next load and Skydive!! Be content, they are not there because they are holed up in their own lie. "OH you were at the "OTHER" DZ?? What other DZ?? There isn't one within 1500 mi of here!! When I worked at Irvin Industries Inc back in CA at 3333 W. Warner in Santa Ana, CA back in the late 80's until the mid 90's as a "Parachute Rigger" , we would occassionally get a newbie in the plant that would start to "spout off!!" I didn't say much, just on monday after Skydiving all weekend at Elsinore and Perris, I'd bring my rig in at lunch time and pack it in the carpet area next to the rigging tables. 'Don't have to say a goddamn word!!! They shut up real quick!!!!!!!! PS, That's just one time frame, incidents like that happened all the time... even till now. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  21. Hi HW, Yup, R/C Skydiving!! Like Nick said it was in Scarachutist and some years ago in Model Aviation (have to look thru my archives to find the issue!). Check the website www.rcuniverse.co and in the discussion forums there's a column on R/C Skydiving!! (at the beginning of the discussion forums there's a heading for 'radios, batteries and the clubhouse', down a few forums is 'unusual R/C' and a sub topic is R/C Skydiving) I post on the site as "skybill" also. These guys really get into it!! Only with "Model Aviation" can I say,"There isn't a plane I've crashed that I havn't walked away from!!!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  22. Hi Doug, Major Divot I'm sure!! I usedta' work for ScurvyIrvin a few years ago and we had one program (Kisler) that had (6) ea., 156ft. dia recovery canopys for a 42,000 lb rocket booster!! Got as far as the 6-pack drop at yuma "IT WORKED!! GOT PHOTO'S & VIDEO!!" We had some similar problems leading up to the "Big Drop!!" Programer chute and the sled wanting to tip over and cut the main bridle. They'll figure it out. 116ft dia should be easy to pak!! The 156 ft dia's were actually quite easy, just heavy- 1 D-bag packed was just over 300 lb. After the big drop, Kisler ran out of $$ and the program flushed. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  23. Hi likes!! Photo looked like the camera was offset from the risers hence the "ground" shot, the fish eye?? Anyway, glad you had a spare!! That Pio K 22 really "Twisted!!" That "Tri-conical" profile was a bit rad!! Some people swore by em', some people swore at em!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  24. Hi likes, Most cool photo!! Good ground shot too. Mae West? A classic Mae West Mal is when you end up with a canopy resembling the Bra of the lady it was named after!! Yup, that's what the photo looks like!! One note or two.. notice how one vent is at the 2 o'clock position on the right side and the vent on the other side is about the 8 o'clock position!! The canopy is twisted in half in the middle thus the mal could also be called a "Bow tie!!" Who really cares as long as there is no altitude between your feet and the ground!!!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  25. Hi Barb, 'Got a "Craftsman" riding mower, inherited it from my late mother-in-law. Works fine, just need to resharpen and balance the blades. Get some ear muffs (sound supressors) and a wide brimmed straw hat too. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
