Hopefully I'll be joinin ya before too long. My shiny new Pilot 188 is in the UPS depot one damn mile from my house, but its not scheduled for delivery until MONDAY!!! Its gonna be a beautiful weekend and I have no main I'm trying to get them to let me pick it up from the depot and avoid waiting for delivery... But I dont ride it in conditions I am not experienced enough to handle You gave out some flak for people advising you to stay on the ground and reality is that staying on the ground it the best way to handle the situation you found yourself in. Based on your description of the location and circumstances and your jump numbers (if that number is accurate), it sounds to me like you should not have been jumping. Its not meant to be smart-ass. I've read on here somewhere that bugspray with DEET in it can damage a canopy. Be careful about getting bugspray on your gear

It would be nice if that were true. My life is complicated. Its my approach to life that is simple. I've been around for a while. I've been so deeply in love that it obscured all else. I've seen that overwhelming feeling vanish like it never existed. Then It came back but with another person. Then POOF! Gone again. Again and again. There is no destiny when it comes to love. Most people confuse lust and infatuation with love. I know thats what I was doing, too, but I was young and inexperienced so I believed that those amazing, all encompassing feelings were love. I got older and I learned. The relationships that last forever arent the ones that just happen by chance nor are they decreed by destiny. They are the ones we consciously choose to stay in in spite of the bumbs and bangs we receive along the way. I believe in love. I believe in people. I even believe in forever. I have a new main canopy arriving next week. I can do everything involved in installing it except for one thing. The loose brake line at the end is always fed inside of the brake line above the toggle so that it doesnt hang. How do you get it in there? If it requires a special tool, how much would a rigger change (ballpark) to tuck them in for me? __ My mighty steed

I have the same eye defects as you. I wear my everyday prescription glasses while jumping and I wear goggles that fit over them. they are made by Flex-Z and are quite comfortable. Ive tried various prescription goggles and they all have the same problem and that is that they mess up my depth perception which usually manifests in some not-so-good landings. I just stick with my over the glasses goggles and I see fine and land fine. the only downside is that you wont be one of the cool people with the most stylish gear __ My mighty steed

Cold Turkey. It was the best way for me. That doesnt mean its the best way for everyone. For me it was the only way. Smoked 2 packs (sometimes more) Marlboro Reds a day for almost 25 years Quit cold turkey just over 5 yeas ago and never looked back.
