  1. Cuba has no concerns with regard to Dean other than maybe some strong surf on the southern coast, and so it is not in the news. I dont think its political. Dean just isn't a threat to Cuba. __ My mighty steed
  2. Probably, although I never asked Either way, she lives 3000 miles away and I like it that way I'm 42 years old now so I dont think living longer is gonna change anything
  3. If it makes you feel any better, I don't know Joe from a hole in the ground and unless he has some kinda weird mutant face, I wouldn't give him a second glance if I passed him on the street __ My mighty steed
  4. Wow. Man, if this was supposed to be funny, it failed miserably. If you actually believe this stuff then you should get some counciling. A lot of counciling. If you were just trying to stir up some shit, well then carry on I guess __ My mighty steed
  5. Screw anyone that says you should get a sportster because you are a woman. They arent "girl" bikes, and in point of fact I found them harder to ride than my FatBoy. Try out a bunch. Sit on them. Ride them Get the one you like and dont get pushed onto a Sportster cuz you are a woman. I know several women, small women, that ride full sized bikes with no problems at all. BTW, I ride a Harley and wont ride anything else, but thats because I LIKE MY BIKE. If your friends wont ride with you unless you are on a Harley then you need some new friends. People that dis Harley's or Harley riders out of some dumb ass bias are idiots. People that make generalizations about Harley quality definitely have no idea what they are talking about. Additionally, people that dis metric cruisers for similar reasons are also idiots and should also be ignored. Ride what you like and fuck anyone that has a problem with it. __ My mighty steed
  6. Yo Dude, We are about the same size. I'm 5' 11" and currently weigh 230 lbs. in my birthday suit. Its mostly muscle from lifting. Got a 35" (could be 34 if I tried harder) waist and a 48" chest. Big arms. All that rot. I jump a Vector 3 (V357). Fits great and very comfy. A Pilot 188 main. PD 218R Reserve. You shouldn't have any problem. When buying gear, make sure you get a nice, baggy poly-cotton jumpsuit. Maybe add swoop cords and booties. __ My mighty steed
  7. Yep. I've landed off there 4 times in 3 different directions away from the DZ. Its not a problem as long as you make your decision in a timely manner. If you open low and are far out, then it gets tricky. __ My mighty steed
  8. I wasn't disrespecting the kid and certainly wasnt laughing at him. Merely stating that he was dead. __ My mighty steed
  9. Nuthin. The spiders are gonna get you. Theres nothing you can do to stop it. __ My mighty steed
  10. That kid is stone dead. I'll bet theres nothing but flesh holding his head on. His spine is completely severed or I'm a Llama __ My mighty steed
  11. We recently added a new dog to our family. Our first troubled little boy is a 15 lb Jack Russel Terrier named Benson, and he is about as nerotic and high strung as you can possibly imagine. Puppy mill dog, and we just didnt know any better. Extreme seperation anxiety that turns into agression on occasion if you move for the door too quickly. Gotta take it slow :-) The poor little boy was broken from birth. He cant help it. We love him and give him a good home. You don't throw away family members because they are inconvenient or problematic. Anyway, he is 6 now and we have always been terribly afraid of getting any other dogs because of how he would react. He doesn't get along well with other dogs at all. My wife was absolutely dying to get a Chinese Crested Hairless, but we waited a long time. I didn't really think much of the idea of another small dog, especially one so notoriously funny looking, but I finally relented. We got a 12 week old female. I figured a girl would be better as it wouldn't trigger any male dominance issues with Benson and he would be far less likely to feel threatened by a baby than an adult. Still, I was afraid he would hurt her accidentally and he was acting so squirrelly the first few days that we had to keep him muzzled a lot of the time. I was afraid he would not be able to get used to her. My wife introduced them a little bit at a time over a period of about a week. The final result is really amazing. She is now about 8 months old, and she is absolutely best friends with Benson. He LOVES her, and she LOVES him. They play with each other constantly and lie together when resting. Benson's behavior in general has improved dramatically since she has been with us. He is far less fearful and panicky and generally more playful and happy. The difference is amazing. She has a magic touch. As for me, I fell in love with her too. Me. The big macho guy that wants big dogs and hates the little ones. I adore the little girl. She is a bird brain, and she looks ridiculous, but is so unbelievably sweet, calm, and affectionate that it melted my heart. __ My mighty steed
  12. Hopefully nobody ends up with their femur hanging out of their thigh that day __ My mighty steed
  13. I have the DCR-HC48 which I believe has the same physical dimensions as the HC38. Too wide for a side mount. People told me it would get a lot of riser slap and after I tried side mounting it and saw how far it stuck out I decided they were right and switched to a top mount. I ended up buying the Skydance top mount platform and it works great. I also built my own enclosure from plexiglass/acrylic to protect the camera. That cost me about 15 bucks worth of materials, weighs next to nothing, and its far stronger than any of the boxes you would pay a hell of a lot more $$ for. __ My mighty steed
  14. Then dont sell it. Skydiving may not be a possibility for you today for many reasons, but someday you may decide that you can jump again and then you will kick yourself for selling all your gear. That happened to me, and I had to buy all new gear. You think my wife was unhappy the first time I spent 6k on gear, you shoulda seen her the next time I spent 6k on gear
  15. I believe that particular misfortune is referred to as "Hunan Hand" in some circles
  16. Absolutely. However, the amount of capsaicin that will dominate is different from person to person. I make my own Habanero sauce that some folks think is extremely hot. I consider it to be nicely hot and a nice accent to many dishes. Habanero chiles actually have a wonderful, unique flavor and aroma but folks that cant take too much capsaicin cant actually taste it because the flavor is overpowered by the heat. Extreme chile heads (which I do not call myself) would find my sauce the be mild compared to some. I'm in the middle. __ My mighty steed
  17. You people are just a wee bit too attached to your mommies for comfort. Does the name "Oedipus Rex" mean anything to you guys? __ My mighty steed
  18. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that you don't go for the super hot stuff.
  19. they tack on an extra $30 for gear on the tandem jump???? sounds like the "big plane" fee at skyride DZs Thats just marketing bullshit. The tandem is 180 bucks which is right in there with most big DZ __ My mighty steed
  20. If your only symptom is a stuffy nose, then get some nasal spray decongestant. It will totally open up your nasal passages and sinuses. Far better than pills will. Don't keep using it though, or it can make the problem worse. Use it for the class. It will give you the better part of 12 hours of relief which should be more than enough for the class, and when it wears off go back to the pills. Of course if you have other cold-like symptoms, reschedule your class for another time. You will get more out of it if you are healthy, plus a day of jumps will likely aggravate your illness and you will suffer more.
  21. I was in the pool with a rig on and a canopy over my head. __ My mighty steed
  22. ?? By the time you have 25 jumps both S/L students and AFF students are on the same level.. I don't get your comment. I followed a static line progression and it took me about 29 jumps to get my A. This seems about average to me based on what I have heard from other people I have spoken to that followed the static line progression. AFF students seem to get there with a few less jumps on average but the per-jump cost is higher for AFF jumps. I assume that is due to the fact that we static line students dont get nearly as much freefall time as a student as AFF students do and require a little longer to pick up those skills as a result. Whats not to get? In my opinion, stating that at 25 jumps static line and AFF students are at the same level is not accurate. Here. I'll throw one of these in here, too: __ My mighty steed
  23. 25 jumps for $735 That's more then double the jumps I posted for less then half the price. Was that post correct? That averages 29.40 a jump compared to the 160 AFF cost here. Or is he talking about regular jumps? Apples and oranges. Wildfan is talking about a static line program at a cessna DZ in Minnisota. The program you are considering at Cross Keys (freefall adventures) is AFF, Turbine aircraft, and higher altitudes. AFF DOES cost you more, but generally (not always) gets you to your A license with fewer jumps. __ My mighty steed
  24. I figgered you spilled some on an unsuspecting clown. Hence the name
  25. sounds like an awful lot of money to me __ My mighty steed
