  1. Nice horn. I have a nice Conn that belonged to my grandfather. I think he paid about $1500.00 for that baby and that was 30+ years ago Also a nice horn but the valves are all frozen now. I dont play a horn myself. I'm a guitar and piano guy. I grew up watching him play though. He had a cornet too. I kept them because they were such a huge part of his life I couldn't see them sold or disposed of as my mother had planned to do. Maybe I'll try to do a freefall piano recital :-) __ My mighty steed
  2. I read em through, and then shitcan em. I have too much crap lying around anyway... __ My mighty steed
  3. Isnt that a Cornet? Looks small for a trumpet. Sounds like you got some pretty serious chops
  4. Better than the vicious Chicken of Bristol __ My mighty steed
  5. Normally I find myself in accord with your opinions, but in this case not. You are saying its OK to do something like this because its not as bad as other things that are also done to dogs. Although I don't agree with all the other unchosen activities that animals are forced to participate in, the argument could be made that they at least may serve a greater purpose. Forcing a dog to jump off a building with a parachute serves only one (or several) persons amusement. Dog = toy The persons amusement is more important than the dogs life. Sorry, but I just don't see any moral or ethical right in that. __ My mighty steed
  6. Do you mean Star-bellied Sneetches? I buy all my gear from Sylvester McMonkey McBean, the fix-it-up chappie. __ My mighty steed
  7. Why? If the dog could be trained to do it and the owner wants to - Why Not? Are you serious? Because its a dog, thats why. A dog cant make an informed choice regarding the risk. If the "owner" would so cavalierly risk the dogs life, then the owner would be a total ass and deserved to be badly beaten. Fortunately its a fake. __ My mighty steed
  8. Nah. I married a grownup. She takes responsibility for herself and doesn't play dumb-ass games like withholding sex as punishment. She is grateful if I do something nice like that, but does not expect or require it. She is an adult and understands that its her responsibility and doesn't seek to punish other people for not bailing her out of her own poor planning. Matter of fact, she wouldn't even think of asking me something like that in the first place. As a direct result, I occasionally offer to run an inconvenient errand for her just to be a nice feller, and she appreciates it when I do. __ My mighty steed
  9. Married and whipped are two entirely different things BTW, had my 10 year anniversary over the weekend so I guess I'm not a total bastard
  10. I have no problem picking up pads, tampons or any other feminine hygiene product for my wife if I'm already going to the store for something else. Grocery shopping etc. I'm not gonna make a special trip for it though and I'm DEFINITELY not going to do anything like that at 11:00 at night while she is comfortable in bed. If she is sick or injured thats a different story. If its just her crappy planning, I'm not gonna take it on the chin. Every once in a while I might do it just to be a nice guy, but if she were to actually get angry at me for not making her poor planning into my late night problem, then she would be out of her mind and I'd tell her that flat out. If I forgot something I should have bought earlier, and realize the need at 11:00 PM, especially some personal item like that, I dont ask anyone else to to cover my ass. I go and get it myself. I guess that makes me an ass in some peoples eyes, but I just believe in taking responsibility for myself and think others should do the same. __ My mighty steed
  11. I found my first real delay was actually easier than the clear and pull. __ My mighty steed
  12. Thanks. I'm not actually in a dispute over it. Not yet anyway. I'm planning on raising the issue with him and he may very well agree to remove those charges. I just wanted to be certain I'm not tripping in the way I'm looking at the situation before I discuss it with him
  13. His CV represent a good 85% of the petition. Thats why he gets $5000.00 for an appearance Anyway, his expert report and CV have already been stipulated to. Its a non-issue. Just wondering whether or not other legal minded folk think the phone calls represent legitimate billing __ My mighty steed
  14. No. the EXPERT PERSON previously interviewed me and wrote a detailed report to attach to the petition along with his CV to establish his expertise. This service WAS discussed in advance and has already been paid for. His appearance would only have been to back up his report, already in evidence. The subject matter of the phone calls was limited to discussions about his possible appearance in person at the hearing. __ My mighty steed
  15. Hypothetical (not really) situation. Let's say I retain the services of an attorney to represent me in a specific, non-criminal matter. I pay a retainer, after which he tells me what steps need to be taken and approximately how many billable hours involved, making sure to state that that the hours is just a ballpark figure. I state up front that I have a limited budget ($5,000.00) based on his ballpark figure and that if it looks like we are going to go past that figure he will need to let me know before we go over so we can work something out Well, far into the case and only one week from hearing date, he says "We may need to have EXPERT PERSON appear at the hearing as well" The cost of having EXPERT PERSON appear literally doubles the overall cost (EXPERT PERSON requires $5000.00 for a day) so I tell him no. We cant have EXPERT PERSON appear because I simply do not have the money for that. He says OK. I receive an invoice for his services for December and on the list I see I am charged for 3 phone calls both to and from EXPERT PERSON on the matter of that person appearing at the hearing. $150.00 for calls to the guy that I said could not appear. These calls happened BEFORE I knew anything about EXPERT PERSON possibly appearing, and thus, prior to my telling him that EXPERT PERSON could not appear. Something that monstrously expensive that would put me 100% over the budget I stated at the outset should have been brought to my attention the outset when discussing steps and ballpark figures, at which time I would have said no, this is not possible. Having said no in the beginning, as I should have had the opportunity to do, these calls would never have happened. IF he was going to add something so expensive, he should have discussed with me BEFORE doing any billable work relating to it. Should I have to pay for those 3 calls? __ My mighty steed
  16. What if you are a straight guy, you liked her rendering of the famous Christmas carol "O Holy Night", but dont actually own a copy and dont really care for her own music? Would that be OK? __ My mighty steed
  17. Its good shit. I'm the hot sauce pusher in my office. I have 3 or 4 guys that keep coming back for more. I dont cheat like some folks do though. Some people add pure capsaicin extract to make super hot sauce. Thats lame. Mine is all natural. All the heat comes from fresh Habanero and Naga Morich peppers that I grew myself. Its not for the faint of heart though
  18. I do believe people can only tolerate the hot sauces for so long. You don't want to imbibe in it on a regular basis. Just once in a while. Or take a long break in your case and see if your stomach lining recovers. Capsaicin does NO physical damage. Prolonged exposure will not wear away the stomach lining. I make my own sauce from Caribbean Red Habaneros ( 25% hotter than regualr habaneros at around 450,000 scoville) and Naga Morich ( 1,000,000+ scoville) I use it on everything and it makes tobasco sauce look like cool aid. How much or how little you "should" use it is a personal preference. There are no health concerns unless you already have some underlying condition, ulcer, esophogeal erosion, etc. Capsaicin doesnt cause them, but it can sure irritate the hell out of existing ones. If anything, barring other previously mentioned conditions, your tolerance goes UP over time, not down. __ My mighty steed
  19. Speak for yourself, Bub. Just cuz you view it as a chore doesnt mean we all feel that way. I definitely enjoy it. Always have, always will. It gives us BOTH pleasure. I briefly dated a woman once that would not let me go down. WTF??!? __ My mighty steed
  20. Guys, I think all he is trying to say is that you tube is easy. You see a blurb about the vid, a screenshot, and you just click and play. Its easy to browse, and easy to watch. If he had a thousand jumps you tube would still be easier to use
  21. Define jump buddy. I dont know what that is supposed to mean. __ My mighty steed
  22. That wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. If a skydiver burns in do they count that in the annual traffic fatalities just because he had a driver license? __ My mighty steed
  23. If you have 300+ jumps on an F-111 canopy, why does your profile say you've been in the sport a year and have 70ish jumps? __ My mighty steed
