    Up here they're charging $1 per ear, then they throw it in the trash when nobody buys it... That's for sweetcorn rather than feedcorn. I think $1/ear has been the going rate for a long time. Better off feeding it to the pigs...I can't believe people would pay that much! Oops! I got that wrong. It's in the range of $2 - $6 per dozen ears here. Anyway, I'd pay $1 for a cooked and buttered ear of Illinois sweet corn any day! ;) It's still a lot cheaper than one of those thongs shown in the OP's attachment :D (There ... now we're back on topic)

It's going to backfire when it's pointed out that most welfare recipients are just people like you and me who either can't work for health reasons, have no means of transportation to go to work because austerity measures are gutting their public transportation systems, or are unemployed due to the crash that was caused by the Masters of the Universe in 2008.

    This has to be the most ridiculous thing I've read so far today. This is the kind of tactic that makes for a very efficiently run police state. Once the authorities are given full discretion to stop, question, and abuse people for all kinds of minor offenses the stage is set for tyranny. Why not just let the police stop and question anyone at any time for whatever reason (pretty much the situation we have in America today)? Won't that lead to even more apprehensions of real criminals? Of course. And if the circumstances allow it, it becomes very easy to focus on any group in society and make their lives absolutely miserable in a perfectly legal way. "Your papers please!"

(See attached ) The next step would more likely be a ban on the schools celebration of Halloween given it's history of various religious implications...be careful what YOU wish for. Banning school sanctioned Halloween celebrations from public schools wouldn't bother me one bit as long as they don't ban books about Halloween from the school libraries.

That's the kind of POTUS he would be - not in charge of executive decisions. He'll have the right wing lunatics from dubya's administration, The US Chamber of Commerce, Donald Trump, the Koch Brothers, and Sheldon Addelson making all of the decisions instead. How's that going to work out?
