  1. i guess that's true if you have electric heat, but electric heat is very inefficient compared to other methods. You got numbers? I'd like to see them
  2. Bad news, Sunny. The lantern is more expensive than electricity.
  3. In the winter time in Maryland you're not saving a single milliWatt-microsecond of energy by using one of those bulbs. You do heat your house don't you? Whatever energy any electrical device puts out in your home is only contributing to heating your home, which you have to do anyway. Especially in winter, just use the brightest friggin incandescent bulbs that you want. Whatever heat they put out is just that much less heat that your central heating system has to put in.
  4. It's been my experience that the students have no clue or concern about the safety issues involved with the camera flyer. Just as a side note, I have to say that, if the vidiot rating is implemented it might also be very beneficial to the students if certified vidiots were required to demonstrate somehow that they at least posses some basic knowledge of photography and editing so that they might receive a better value in the end product Alrighty, then.
  5. OK ... so how about a USPA Coach rating + at least 200 jumps?
  6. That's an unenforceable tandem manufacturer's "guideline." That's because it's not enforceable.
  7. No it's not a BSR. You may be thinking of a recommendation in the IRM relating to AFF. Edit: Section 4-2: 4.b.(2) of the IRM states that only camera flyers who hold an AFF rating may interact with students ...
  8. The SIM , section 6-8, contains recommendations. The tandem instructor is in charge of the jump though. Although, I agree that 60 jumps seems an insanely low number, I don't think that jump number is the only significant parameter that the TI needs to consider. I'm curious as to how many documented cases there actually are relating to camera flyers being responsible for a problem as well as documenting the experience level and other characteristics of the camera flyers involved. It may just be that this is not as serious a problem as we are led to believe from our own instincts and anecdotes. I don't think at this point that additional BSR's are necessary. A camera rating? That's an interesting concept. What would be the requirements for such a thing?
  9. Hmmm...he's a man of many titles. I don't think I'd better answer that question ...
  10. Would it be a PA if I called you a lying sack of shit or would I be just keeping it real? Walt Whatever. Now I've done my part. All I can hope for, is for one of you sick [titty] fuckers out there to step up to the park bench and throw a t-shirt over her face and put us all out of our misery!
  11. Actually ... if you really want to know ... being the gentleman that I really am, I would take off my shorts and cover her up.
  12. Smileys aren't necessary in your case. Your job here is to be facetious, isn't it?
  13. Think she'd notice? Walt Definitely! If she feel asleep sitting up ... well, that would be a whole different scenario.
  14. That would be awkward in this particular situation, I think.
  15. I'd think, "definitely real!" and keep on walkin'
  16. No shit! That's why I resized my desktop image so that blowing it up yields no details Not that I have anything to hide ...
  17. I'm not about to go poking around his pants looking for proof...someone else can have that job. Hrm...wonder if Mike Rowe would consider that for one his "Dirty Jobs" episodes. If Mike turns it down, perhaps MythBusters would consider ... ?
  18. Here's the order of priority from worst to least bad: 1. Animals, domestic or not, but especially domestic. 2. Old people. Maybe it's because I'm closer to being really old than really young, but even if they're mean and not all there I feel for 'em. 3. Kids. There's always someone willing to take care of the kids, but not always someone there for the animals or the elderly. 4. non-Old adults with problems not of their own making. Most have friends or family. Some do not. 5. Dumbasses who got themselves in a bad spot by being stupid. Walt 6. People who do that to animals.
  19. You should have gone there ... if you're referring to the DZ at Playa del Carmen ... it's right next to the bar! :-D Last time I was there, I think the DZ entrance was in front of the bar exit
  20. I had to cut down drastically a long time ago, when I became a runner. But I never turn it down the first time it comes around Edit: Wow! Did you ever notice just how cool that Edit link is? Damn ... Kewl! Awesome... BRB ... I'm hungry.
  21. I can ban you on the first try. Wanna see? Ha! You could have and you didn't! Q.E.D.
