  1. Now THAT's putting things into perspective!
  2. What, exactly, do you mean by "cheap" ... I for one, would really like to know that number!
  3. I'm an MCT and MCSE and I use XP Pro. What possible reasons do you have for wanting/needing to install VISTA?
  4. Folks, We really appreciate your continued good thoughts on having a WFFC 08. I spoke with Don just this morning to make sure that he has gotten all of the posts and emails that I have forwarded on to him regarding this years event. I know that he has a lot on his plate with his business, and the land grab situation in Boulder. Because he is so incredibly busy, he really enjoys having his vacation at the WFFC every year. I know that when everything else is kinda heavy on his shoulders the thoughts of the Convention really brighten his day. One of the things that he mentioned to me is that he wasn't sure if people REALLY want a WFFC. I assured him that I think they do. He said he is going to spend the next 10 days or so thinking about it, and making up his mind. He is hoping for a Valentines day answer to the question. So here is the deal, do you want another WFFC? Can you get people to post to this thread so that I can forward it on to him to let him know that we all REALLY REALLY want one? If we do, I know that as a member of the senior staff, I"M IN!! I CAN HARDLY WAIT! Please MAKE MY DAY! You know all of us here in Flatville want it!
  5. I feel your pain! That's expensive electricity
  6. Yeah this house is a energy waster like no other I've even lived in. It's a LOT of glass, 22 windows that are 6' X 4 ' and another 20 of a more 'standard size', we are in the woods and the views are spectacular...but it's all the old single pane non insulating type. It also has several 2.5 story cathedral ceilings that do nothing but trap heat way up high...not good in the summer OR winter. Sheesh! It's interesting to see how much people are paying for their total bills, but I guess I didn't pose my question clearly in the first place. I'd like to know what the costs are per unit of energy. To get an idea of what people are being charged per kWh of electricity, per gallon of propane, and/or per ccf of natural gas. It's all there on your power bills ... I guess most people skydivers just really only care about the total cost In my case, I use electricity instead of propane whenever I can because it's cheaper here. I save the propane for heating my 18 ft diameter pool to 102 °F twice a year for our Giant Hot Tub and Water Training Extravaganza
  7. So are you saying that you believe the FAA used to write and understand english when the original regs were written? If so, what makes you think so? I'm just a newbie, but it sure seems to me that if you presuppose that the above is the correct version, to be taken literally, it is giving explicit permission to Master riggers to do all that stuff to mains. It doesn't explicitly prohibit anyone else from working on them. If that was the FAA's intention, all they had to do was ad the word ONLY in the right places. Perhaps he and many others back then thought the regs were not written properly, and just chose to ignore this rather than getting the FAA all worked up into a rewriting frenzy? I don't know, I'm just saying.
  8. How would a USPA inspection program have prevented that particular type of situation? There is already a system in place to deal with this type of problem. Why didn't you call the FAA?

Totally cute! Great photo editing too!
  10. Rantoul 08! Rantoul 08! Rantoul 08!
  11. WOW! Glad the pooch is OK now.
  12. Wow! That natural gas is really cheap, about 3.5 cents per kWh by my reckoning.
  13. Use a 10.5 mm wide angle lens from about two feet away when you take the pic, OK?
  14. Can you give me something I can work with? $ per kWh ... $ per gallon??
  15. C'mon! you live next door to a hydroelectric plant? 10 cents per kWh??? I'll ship you my batteries for charging! Duh! ... disregard that Don't know what I was thinking on that one. 2.20 per gallon for propane is about 8.3 cents per kWh for the propane, about the same as me.
  16. Well, when I saw the ones that squirrel just posted, I called my wife over. She prides herself on being able to tell the fake ones from the real. She said, "oh yeah, those are real", without hesitation. "they did a great job", she said ... now THAT's a compliment, believe me
  17. Well, actually I'd like to see what other people are paying for both gas and electricity this month. I've been thinking about energy a lot lately and doing some calculations. I thought that I was paying about the same amount for propane vs. electric - about 5 cents per kWh. Well guess what? I just had my propane tank filled a few days ago and the price went up! My propane is currently costing me $2.33/gal, which according to my initial calculations works out to about 8.7 cents per kWh According to my electric bill for this month, electric energy is only costing me about 6.7 cents per kWh. WTF!!! To make matters worse, it's fucking cold here! It's a good think we have three dogs and they insist on sleeping with us What are YOU paying right now for your electricity, and/or propane/natural gas??? edit: In $ per kWh and/or $ per gallon please
  18. She should ditch that guy. She should post her current boobs right here ... I'd bet that she could find a fine man right here on DZ.COM
