I think the OP is asking the wrong crowd this question. Most of us skychicks are probably "lower maintenance" than non skydivers as far as stuff like that goes. My nails don't really grow well and I tend to bite them. For a while, I did the acrylic nails but I kept them at a reasonable length and I maintained them. Most people couldn't tell they were fake when I had them. (I don't think there's a whole lot uglier than broken and chipped acrylic nails, or ones that are way overdue for a "fill"!) One thing I will say is that the polish tends to stay on acrylic nails a lot longer than it does on "real" ones, at least for me. I enjoyed having pretty "girly" hands and nails but the process is terrible for your nails, not to mention expensive and time consuming so I eventually gave that up. I do try to get occasional pedicures and keep my toes polished during the summer months.

What's wrong with Old Spice??? I thought only dads used Old Spice because that's what their kids get them for Christmas and Fathers' day every year. Not using it would hurt the kids feelings. I had no idea anyone without young kids used the stuff.

The canopy tour is awesome and it isn't an all day thing. You could probably do the cathedral in the morning and the canopy tour in the afternoon.
-
You should do the zipline canopy tour- worth every penny and way better than patronizing a dolphin prison. Seriously, do a little research on how the dolphins are captured and treated in those places. You'll probably see a ton of dolphins and some whales on your fishing trip- out in the ocean where they belong.

Sorry, I had to ask.............. I agree, as long as you don't stink, they can kiss your bulking up ass!
-
Old Spice?????? Seriously?
-
OK, are they giving you a hard time because you stink or because you 'fessed up to not showering after your workout? I rarely workout at lunchtime, but if I do, its generally a light workout that won't require a shower afterwards and no one backs away from me or gives me a hard time about it when I am back at the office.

I was thinking the same thing! He's right though- don't eat anything heavy right before running or working out. -

Well, I usually go to the gym straight from work and don't get home until 9:00ish most nights. I try to eat something small beforehand like a bowl of cereal and I eat dinner when I get home even though its late. If I don't eat something before the workout its a) less productive and b) I'm that much more famished and likely to eat junk when I am finished. So, I vote both. -

Kung Fu classes sound fun. I personally have a very hard time working out at home- the couch really is very inviting and I don't have a lot of room which makes the couch look even better. I think the main thing that has kept me going to the gym this past year has been my commute. There's a club near my office and stopping there for an hour or so after work is better than sitting in rush hour traffic. That's how it started anyway. Now I enjoy it most of the time plus the training sessions and classes help keep me motivated and on track. Of course, I also don't have little ones at home unless you count the kitties and they don't seem to mind if I'm gone 12 hours a day. -

OK, I am sure you know this but its really difficult to stick to a workout program that leaves you feeling BAD! You should feel GOOD after a workout, tired but good! And my Monday progress- I am still trying to stay off the scale for a while, but yesterday I was at Target and picked up a pair of work out pants and a pair of shorts off the clearance rack. Grabbed the mediums without trying them on, thinking smalls would be pushing my luck. I got home and they were too freaking big, not just fitting loose but literally too big! Even with over indulging and not working out as much as I should have been over the past couple of weeks, everything I have been doing is still paying off. -

I blame the squats and lunges plus getting your heart rate up that high. I know lunges take a lot out of me, anyway. That feeling like you're totally spent and gonna puke? That's about where I was when I cut my training session about 10 minutes short the week before last. I pushed too hard trying to work off all the holiday sloth and glutteny AND wasn't feeling 100% when I started. (partly because of all the sloth and glutteny.......) Keep an eye on your heart rate too. 171 seems really high- high enough to send me home from the gym with a migraine, anyway. Could be a good excuse to get that fancy monitor early .... -
I do my cardio at the gym watchiong bad TV, reading the closed captioning and listening to music. But my choices are limited to whatever stations they choose to put on ........ Wife Swap always seems to be a favorite there!

I think its cool you went and cool of the step son to ask. I went to me ex's wedding. I figured if he had the nerve to ask, it would have been wrong not to go. I did ask a friend/ co-worker to be my "date". He was a really cool guy, made a great impression and we actually had fun. The only thing was we weren't dating and my friends who were at the same wedding asked about him for months afterwards!

The plastic ring from a bottle of milk, or even better, the crinkly plastic "seal" I take off my contact lens solution.

eeneR, don't get sucked in! That's what THEY want! That's the ONLY reason she's on the show. Step away from the TV!

Sorry about not defining Zumba! I'd heard about it and its something I've been wanting to try for a while. I like to mix in the dance oriented group classes with the strength training and cardio. Keeps things more fun and interesting, plus if I know I have a class, its harder to talk myself out of a trip to the gym. -

I'm going to try and stay off the scale until next week and just focus on the workouts and paying more attention to what and how I am eating. I do want to lose about 20 more pounds, but more important- I want to lose my belly and tone up/ strengthen all my muscles. At least I seem to be back on track with the workouts - I took a Zumba class last night. Seems kind of fun, but its not something that is offered regularly at my gym. -

No age restriction! I got a USB turntable for Christmas- pretty soon all my old albums and 45s will be on my iPod! -

Well, I've got "Ch****a Tu Madre" by Molotov- I turn that one down depending on where I am and who is around. I think its hilarious, but of course, its totally vulgar and offensive and more than a little wrong for a blond blue eyed gringa to be blasting out her car windows. -
I personally think you should feel free to participate or sit out as you see fit and no one should say a thing about it either way. Face it, its kind of a dumb and meaningless tradition anyway! I was at one wedding where all of us "single" girls stood in a circle and no one made a move to catch the bouquet. It landed on the floor in the middle and we all just stared at it and backed away a little like it was contagious or something. No one even wanted to touch it!

I'm a straight female and I LOVE early Melissa Ethridge. Her newer stuff- not so much. I can't comment on Celine Dion but that's part of the beauty of MP3 players. I'm sure people would raise their eyebrows at some of the stuff on mine- ranges from heavy metal to Latin pop and just about everything in between.

I can't stand Omarosa but I have to give her credit for making the most of her "15 minutes"- reality TV sure beats working for a living, right? Not to mention, hating her and waiting for her to get fired is what hooked me the first season, which IMO was the only season worth watching. The show has consistently gone downhill since then. Although I don't plan on watching this season, bringing her back was a brilliant move. I think she'd be a riot on Survivor, or even better, how about as one of the wannabes on The Bachelor?

Fitness Babies...We Didn't Really Check in on Friday Did We?!

LOL- I AM in the mortgage business and a title company brought in the goodies. Personally, I'd be happy with better service and no treats. -
What about the integrity and honor of an insurance company that collects premiums for years and then uses a hidden "dangerous sports" exclusion clause to avoid paying a claim? Those of us with employer provided/ subsidized insurance don't have easy access to the fine print in our policies nor do we have much choice in the carriers we use.
