You???

Obviously, any kind of surgery is about risk vs. reward. The surgery and long recuperation would be painful, and chances are, at some point you would probably have to go through it all over again. BUT, you're still a young guy (relatively) you're living with chronic pain and and your physical activity is far more limited than it should be, right? I think I would do it now while you are still young enough to really enjoy the benefits, but that's just me.

Some people will do anything for a free T-shirt!

OK, first of all, good for you that the cardio is paying off and your heart rate isn't climbing into the 150s after two minutes of exercise! That IS a good thing, OK??? A really really good thing! That means you can safely step up the intensity! And 2nd- Rant forgiven- I think I would HATE to be a parent right now because every 5 minutes there is a new study and a new expert telling you exactly what you should have done a few years ago and who knows who is right and who is wrong? And when you've got special kids, that just has to be 1000 times worse. All this second guessing and doubt! I can't even imagine, so go ahead and rant if you need to and I'm sorry you had such a tough day on top of it. Here's something else to rant about- Jenny McCarthy wrote a book about living with her autistic child and what a joy he was and I swear she just released that like 6 months ago and did all those interviews and now she's telling everyone how she and Jim Carrey CURED him through diet and love alone! So, he was still autistic when you were trying to sell your book but now he's cured? Is my take on that assbackwards? Is it no longer "trendy" to have a special child or is she planning another book?

It wasn't meant as an attack. She asked a question and you do have a history here, including stuff you posted about your marriage and husband that had a lot of people here seriously concerned for YOU and your safety. I wish you lots of luck in getting on with your life.

I believe her former user name was just Freebird if you wanted some light reading.

iTunes is selling them- at their regular full price of .99 per song if I am not mistaken. Personally, I think its kind of ballsy to charge the same price for an amateur AI recording as you would for something by U2 or any other proven artist but people must be buying them.
-
No, Obviously, I really don't! It kind of kills me when Simon Cowell makes comments about choosing an "obscure" song or arrangement just because HE hasn't heard it. I think he said that to Bo Bice when he did Freebird! I mean, I know the dude's British, but FREEBIRD? Seriously?
-
Oh yeah- and the Over the Rainbow version? What's with you and Simon Cowell? How have you NOT heard that before? There is a lot of really good music out there that you will not hear on American top 40 radio. And that version of Over the Rainbow is one of them. I personally wasn't all that impressed with Dreadlock's rendition but I missed most of it channel surfing. Since they're only given what 60 seconds? to interprep a song, that can happen. I think the time limit and shortened arrangement really hurt Carly and Bad Hair dude as well. You can do that with a pop song, but its a lot harder with the songs they chose.

AHHHH I actually agree with you about the smiley kid. So NOT Sanjaya in so many ways. If you close your eyes when he sings, he's actually really good and I think he's got a big future ahead of him. I thought he was the best of the group last night for sure. Still, he looks like he's about 12 and if he was singing a love song, it would totally creep me out! (What he sang last night was actually perfect for him.) I have issues with kids on AI in general. I think they should change the age range to 18-30 instead of 16-28. With the younger kids, when they do material that's appropriate for their age, they get criticized for being too young, cute or immature- basically for being themselves. So, they take the criticism to heart and do something "older" the next week and get criticized for trying to be something they aren't. It happens every year!

What's funny is there have been plenty of times when I haven't felt all that great but made myself go to they gym and workout anyway. More often than not, the workout actually helps and makes me feel better. But last night I knew it wouldn't be the case! At the very least, the session wouldn't have been productive. Anyway, I feel a lot better today so I am going to they gym tonight. Hopefully, I'll be able to make it through the class! And yes, illness and aches and pains can derail your workout schedule and good intentions BUT ........ I've noticed something over the past year or so (since I've lost a little weight and have been exercising regularly.) I honestly think I'm so much healthier now in general that when I do get sick, it doesn't last as long or get as bad as it used to.
-
Nah- you're too harsh! But no worries about the VPLs- I do most of my singing alone in the car or in the shower. Seriously, though- I didn't notice the VPLs but whoever sold Carly those jeans ought to be taken out in front of a firing squad and shot! No one under 55 should be wearing those! Did someone tell that poor girl she's too fat?

Well, Brooke got a few props from me last night for doing something off Carol King's Tapestry even if she gave James Taylor credit for the song first. And, she did an adequate job with it, but even I can probably sing the hell out of anything off that album!

I missed my workout with my trainer last night because I just wasn't feeling well. But after two days with a funky tummy, I think I've lost about 4 pounds! Anyway, I feel much better today so its back to the gym tonight. Latin Cardio/ Zumba class plus I think upper body depending on how much time I have before the class starts. I'm usually too whipped at the end of the class to do much of anything.

I've got a standing appointment at the gym on Tuesday nights but last night I wasn't feeling well and cancelled. Soooo........ I watched pretty much the whole show (I had to turn off "Grandpa" butchering Dream On, though!) for the first time all season and I have to say, I pretty much agree with your review 100%! At least I know I'm not missing anything good on TV Tuesdays! One comment about need-a-cheeseburger girl ............. In addition to the sad basset hound eyes, WTF was she wearing? Looked like a brightly colored potato sack! Just as bad as Carly's granny jeans, IMO. If she was trying to cover up how painfully thin she is, all she really did was call attention to it. And Paula? WTF??? They were even talking about that on the news this morning!

Well, there used to be rumors of someone with a homemade bungee rig dropping people over a certain bridge along the Fox River, generally late at night. I can neither confirm nor deny said reports or if it is still going on ................ Besides- Bungee jumping? Looks CRAZY to me!

OK, first of all, those step classes ARE intense and its perfectly fine to work at your own pace, slow down when you need to, drink water and mop your face as need, etc. Just keep moving, and remember its all downhill after the halfway point, so if you make it that far, you can finish! (actually, I don't take the step classes because to me, compared to my cardio dance classes and the Capoeira, they look totally boring but its the same principle will all those classes.) Don't compare yourself to anyone else and don't assume anyone is looking at you or judging you. They all had to start somewhere and most of them know, it. The ones who pretend they don't? F..... em! They aren't worth your time! Take the dance class tonight, leave your inhibitions at the door, sweat and have a good time!

I took my sore tush to the gym last night for Boneco Capoeira class- that's a pretty intense lower body workout-cardio with lots of lunging, squatting and kicking. I haven't been this sore 2 days after training in awhile so I wasn't sure that class would be the best thing for me, but all the moving and stretching actually helped.

Life creates confusion in general, and there is no reason to assume this kid will be any more f'ed up than any other kid growing up in this world.

Honestly, if it IS strep then you would most likely also have a high fever, swollen glands, body aches and feel too miserable to work. Strep is a lot more than a sore throat and a lost voice. As far as I know, the only way to get rid of strep is with anti-biotics and rest. Aspirin or tylenol to reduce the fever and a warm salt water gargle might make you feel a little better temporarily, but that's about it.

I had a really intense leg/ lower body workout with my trainer Tuesday night. My a** is still sore- lots of lunges and squats. Every time I sit, stand or walk, I feel it! By the time he's done with me, I might just have the nicest bootie in the midwest! -
How funny- there was a time when I remembered this date every year, but today, I didn't even think about it until I saw the title of your post. My family was living in a new subdivision in Louisville, Kentucky at the time. Our neighborhood was spared, but not by much. The ones in Kentucky hit early in the afternoon. I was in grade school and I remember my mom meeting the school bus, rushing us into the house and straight to the basement. I also remember going outside right afterwards, the odd color of the sky and the erie calm. For several months afterwards, you couldn't drive anywhere around Louisville without seeing reminders of the devastation.
