Thank you! My feelings exactly!

My cats love their water fountain and I don't really think its frivilous. Cats need a lot of water and tend to not drink from a water bowl if they can't "see" the water. I decided the fountain thing was a better option than leaving a tap running for them all day. I made that decision after I bought my house and had to start paying the water bill!

See ya then!

OK- subtext here but don't tell anyone ----- my lower body (legs, hips, bootay etc) is shaping up nicely but I still have more belly fat than I would like. That means pants that fit well around the waist tend to be baggy around the hips and butt. I always used to be pretty well proportioned (hourglass curves) whether I was in a "fat" or "less fat" phase but the older I get, the tougher it is to firm up and get rid of the extra weight around my waist!

OK, now I'm confused. I thought it was the "left wing nut jobs" that were anti-spanking and the "right wing nut jobs" that were all in favor of it! Politics and labelling gets so confusing, doesn't it? And I'm with Skymama- I think its lazy parenting and there are better options. The fact that most of us were spanked as children and turned out OK doesn't make it right. Many of our mothers also smoked and drank alcohol throughout their pregnancies, but we know now that isn't such a great idea, right?

I got the joke. It was pretty bad, but I got it! And for the "challenged" folks out there...... Bulemic ........... Keep it down ........... ????????

Quit whining about the braces and think about how nice your smile will be when they finally do come off!
-
I'm sure if Sunny gets really sick of the braces, she'll just take them off herself. This is the same person who removed her own cast, correct? If you just wait for her to remove them herself, you won't feel responsible every time you see that sweet crooked smile!

My new favorite jeans are Lucky brand which you can get at Costco for anywhere between $20.00 and $40.00. I've also found since I've lost weight, my curves have "relocated". Low rise jeans tend to work better for me these days, BUT most low rise jeans with the stretch denim will start sliding down my hips within an hour or two of putting them on- my Lucky jeans don't do that! And anything with a high waist line tends to be really really baggy around the bootay area.

Electric Bicycles. Billvon Feel Free to Offer Your Advice...
tigra replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire
OK, two things off the top of my head- 1) get the bike that YOU like and is most comfortable for you- not an oversized men's bike. If you're looking into spending that kind of $$$ on a bike so you can get around town and save on gas and repair bills, won't you be pissed if it is trashed by one of the kids, stolen because someone left it unlocked or not available when you need it because someone else in the house grabbed it first? Your kids should have their own bikes and this one won't be a toy, right? And even though you are a mom, you deserve some things that are just yours. And 2nd- if this hill is so steep you really can't manage it with your own legs, are you sure you can trust a tiny motor on a WalMart bike? -
Maybe the hoof crack, but I was also reading some articles that said Big Brown wasn't the super horse people were making him out to be, and that the reason there hasn't been a triple crown winner in so long is because there just aren't any really great horses anymore. (a consequence of overbreeding?)

Kind of unrelated, but when I think if siphoning gas, I think of this old movie I saw when I was a little kid. (probably from around '73) I don't remember a whole lot about the movie- but the main characters (Walter Mathau and Carol Burnett?) had a neighbor who was obsessed with his gas mileage and they decided to mess with his head a little bit. First they ADDED gas to his tank at night so the guy thought he was getting great mileage, then they started siphoning.

How do you get a Sox fan off your porch? Pay him for the pizza! Hey, I've got nthing against the Sox, but Chicago loves the Cubs even when they lose! (Good thing too!)

Feeling Good, Fitness Updates June 6th - 12th! Post up!

Well, its more like 4 days to 3 since I almost never work out on Fridays! I did enough of an upper body workout last night to feel sore today, and I know tonight's workout will be another good one. BUT, some evil person decided to bring in a gigantic chocolate cake from ClaimJumpers. I had to have a small piece. I couldn't eat it all, but I think I did enough damage with the little bit that I had. -
Skydiving Under The Age of 18 in Illinois?
tigra replied to bigpapasmurf01's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
If your parents own a dropzone, I would try there first. The general concensus is that there are certain rights your parents cannot waive on your behalf which would make any waiver either you or they sign useless. Most places won't allow you to jump without a valid waiver which is something you cannot provide unti you are 18. -
Skydivers!!! You people act like it's wrong or something!!! This is not the "first baptist church of the hanger" you know! Hey, don't group me in that category! I was simply pointing out the age old discrepancy between how we judge men and women who both enjoy having a lot of sex. No offense to anyone, but I think the poll is ridiculous. Sounds like a bunch of catty women getting together to talk trash about someone they view as a threat. But I could be wrong. OK, as far as I know, a GUY started the thread and I really haven't seen evidence of catty women trash talking in this thread. Personally, I don't discriminate. Male or female, gay or straight, a Ho is a Ho and I'm not threatened by them. Amused sometimes, annoyed sometimes but never threatened.

That's a very good reason to stay out of the mens shower house! Thanks for reminding me!

So I spent the weekend at the dz, sweating, watching the wind blow, the clouds close in and the rain fall. No jumping, more beer drinking than I am used to these days, and lots of bad for me food, but all in all, a pretty good weekend! I started my day/ week with a 45 minute walk, picking up my car from a local mechanic. And I'm heading to the gym in about an hour for an upper body workout, plus cardio and abs. Legs tomorrow with the trainer, Zumba Wednesday night, then probably cardio and full body on my own Thursday. I do really well most weeks, Monday thru Thursday but weekends are my downfall, especially now that I'm trying to get my butt to the DZ more often-but why pay for a trailer I don't use, right? -
Yeah well, skydivers don't like to drink alone.
-
This thread is a few years old. The showers did indeed smell pretty bad a few years ago. Mostly sulfer, but people would dump bottles of bleach into the well to cover the sulfer- made for a very interesting combination! But, they re-dug the well and added a filter so the water doesn't smell bad anymore, at least not to me.
-
Unfortunately, sacrificing a useless canopy would not be sufficient to appease the gods of wind, rain and clouds. The correct sacrifice would be cracking open a beer at 11:00am so your fellow skydivers might have decent jumping weather while you stay on the ground drinking and watching.

The pond is for people, not dogs but the river is right there.

I would vote for not the best quality or freshest coffee made in a machine that needs cleaning, and possibly unfiltered tap water from a faucet that also needs cleaning. (maybe they used water from a drinking fountain?) I'm no expert but I do enjoy my coffee- made with fresh, freshly ground beans and filtered water. I put 1/2 and 1/2 in mine, but as long as the quality is good, I can drink it black too.
-
I hear ya! About all of it. As far as the $- I'm spending a lot on my trainer but I also feel like he's worth it- or more to the point, I'm worth it!

Thank you, Krisanne! What you said pretty much sums up exactly WHY I am so resistant to food tracking and calorie counting. Because it IS counter productive to having a normal healthy "relationship" with food. And its not like I've ever been diagnosed with any type of eating disorder - but I have struggled with my weight pretty much since puberty and I've done some really stupid things to lose weight only to gain it all back and more. I'm trying to break that cycle and "dieting" isn't the way, not for me!
