Allergies tend to drain me, so my guess is that its a combination of both and it will pass as your body gets used to the increased activity and new allergens in the air. Looks like you managed to get in a pretty good workout anyway. Good going!

Again, that's more of a "people" problem than a cat problem. The cats are just being cats. Just like dogs, they don't belong in the hangar or around gear. We've got a lot of cats at my dz and you'll never see one running loose in the hangar pissing on gear. If people want to allow cats to roam freely around skydiving gear, its their fault if the gear gets peed on, not the cats. For the record, I agree that feral cats are a nuisance but I can't help but feel sorry for the strays.

The cats around our DZ stay in the campground, pretty far from the hangar. Unfortunately, some people who live there full time have outdoor cats and don't bother to spay and neuter, which creates more cats. And dropzones tend to be popular spots for the locals to dump their unwanted animals. I don't blame the cats for their irresponsible owners.

There was a stray kitten by our trailer at the dz about 2 weeks ago. He would stay under the trailer and meow/cry/howl all night long. He's eat whatever we put out for him but would not let anyone close enough to grab him and during the day, he just wasn't around. Just as well because if he had crawled into my lap purring, I would have been stuck with another cat! Anyway, he's not around anymore so either someone managed to catch him and take him home or he became a part of the food chain. Good luck!

Zumba is a cardio dance class to Latin music- anything from classic Salsa to Reggaeton. They combine fitness moves like lunges and crunches with more traditional latin dance steps- salsa, mambo, cumbia, etc. Its a ton of fun!

I did about 45 mintues on the elliptical plus abs! I can always tell when my Zumba class is going to be extra tough if I see the instructor working out BEFORE the class. That gives her lots of energy which she is happy to share with the rest of us!

Its stuff like this that makes me really glad I don't live in Florida- land of hurricanes and giant bugs! Good luck!

Me not having an appetite is a rare thing indeed! (Especially without help from the friendly diet clinic I used to visit.........)

Awesome! Yeah for you! I am getting biceps and even triceps but there is still plenty of flab too. My young trainer says most of that goes with weight loss (same with the lower belly.......) and my diet just isn't the greatest right now! The poor kid- he tries so hard to get me to eat better and I talk about how if I burn so many extra calories in a workout, that's that much more I can eat! Over all, I am really happy with all the progress I've made so far. But I do need to lose more weight, and that's mostly going to have to happen through improving my diet.

Well, after not working out for a whole week (its been a while since I've done that......) I had another great lower body workout with my trainer.

I LOVE the Gypsy Kings version of Hotel California!

I haven't worked out since Tuesday because of Summerfest- sort of a lame excuse actually since there is a workout room on the DZ that I have yet to take advantage of ............. I had a fun long weekend, probably drank too much but I also rode my bike instead of a car or golfcart pretty much everywhere on and around the DZ. Anyway, I'm back on track starting tonight. I borrowed a better fitting jumpsuit from a friend- I don't want to get too comfortable flying a baggy suit and I'm not quite ready to buy a new one right now. I've never worn an intentionally "fast" tight fitting suit before- kind of interesting and I will get used to it! Oh yeah- last week Monday? No bug or anything, just dragging and a bit of PMS. The workout really helped but I did kind of have to force myself to go. I usually have a bit of an energy drain around that time....... (Sorry if that's an "overshare" for the guys!) -
i think some guy wrote a book comparing the shows on the food network to porn. I was looking for a station on the radio maybe 2 years ago and some talk station was interviewing him. He compared Tyler Florence to the "pizza guy"! I cannot stand Sandra Lee though! Sometimes I turn her show on at the very end for her cocktail recipes but other than that, yuck! She's annoying and her food doesn't even look like it tastes good!
-
Seriously??? So was I! Back at work today unfortunately- made for a very long commute but it was totally worth it! I'm heading back tonight for the rest of the weekend. Might even hit Ottawa's RiverFest for an evening!

I've never made one. My first couple of years in the sport, I was jonesing to do one and kept missing out on the opportunities. Clouds/ bad weather on the nights they were planned, etc. But you see and learn a lot of things after a few years in the sport and my interest in doing a night jumps is no longer as strong as my interest in avoiding painful injuries! And quite frankly, I don't think I have the eyesight for it anymore. My depth perception at dusk and beyond is just not what it used to be and even under a full moon with a great spot and a well lit landing area, I wouldn't trust myself to land my canopy properly! Still, I kind of wish I had done one or two when I was younger, dumber, braver, more current and less "blind"! More like you, really! They're cool - take the proper precautions, pay attention at the briefing, fly a conservative pattern and have fun.

"They" are not paying the stupid tax. They just walked away from a free house they had zero equity in. The rest of us- tax payers and people who actually pay their bills? We pay the "stupid tax" for them.

Habitat and other similar programs have procedures in place to educate homeowners and also prevent or make it extremely difficult for them to pull all the equity out. They usually involve credit counseling, forgivable mortgages on the property and owner occupancy provisions. The idea behind these programs is to re-invest within the community and encourage homeownership in econimically depressed areas. The homeowners/buyers don't get "free and clear" half a million dollar homes in neighborhoods full of $90,000.00 homes.

Well, two things come to mind. First off is that "initial getting into the groove thing" is really tough. And its really easy to come up with reasons NOT to go. If working out was easy and convenient, we'd be a nation of buff beauties, right? But, just speaking for myself, those days when I'm really dragging and the last thing I want to do is stop at the gym on my way home? If I actually make myself go, most of the time, I feel about 1000% better afterwards! Even after over a year of regular workouts, the lure of the couch and remote control still has some power over me! And honestly, if I stopped at home before going to the gym, I'd probably almost never go! 2nd- just from your posts, it sounds like you have a crazy schedule. Maybe you really are that tired and need the rest.

Girl, I've got to give you major credit! There are not too many chicas here who can tell a story about NOT exposing their breasts and still have it sound HOT!

Welcome back!

I did not work out all weekend, and I felt really tired today but I made myself go to the gym instead of straight home. I saw my trainer and he gave me enoug motivation to give myself a decent workout tonight. 30 minutes cardio, plus crunches and lower body weight training. Not bad ............. -
Some of them just create new user IDs and online personalities that have very little to do with the people they are in "real life". You might not even know they are back right away!

You're funny! I seriously doubt my little Mio watch is transmitting data to the big Life Cycle machine, but a lot of those machines are actually made to work with your "ferraris". I've actually gotten pretty good at "guessing" my heart rate when I am working out, on or off the machine, and with or without the Mio. I can feel when I'm in my target range and I can feel when my HR is getting too high and I need to slow it down, but the watch is a nice tool all the same. And for what I am using it for, it is plenty accurate. Call it the garden variety dytter of heart rate monitors as opposed to the protrack. It does what its supposed to do, and doesn't claim to do much more. Then again, you probably have never even seen a dytter! Kids!

Used Cars, Banks, Police and the Great Domino Effect. (Long)

Good luck dealing with this and getting it all straightened out. You tried to do something good for your daughter and you don't deserve all this insanity. I HOPE once it gets straightened out that the responsible parties step up and at the very least pay all the assorted over-draft fees, etc. -
Most of my "running" is done on the elliptical and I don't stop when I check. The elliptical has a built in HR monitor and generally the readings from it and the mio are the same. I'm sure there are better and more accurate products out there, but for the money, it does all that I need it to do with no chest strap.
