  1. Appaerently they are all on FaceBook. I wouldn't know. I refuse to cave in and join! Any other facebook holdouts out there?
  2. The poll is flawed. There's nothing wrong with looking or appreciating an attractive man with a good body. That doesn't mean the "average joe" gets rejected. He didn't ask who we would date, he asked what we found "attractive" and the ladies answered honestly. Seriously- next time you are out to dinner or something, take a look around. I'll bet you see more attractive women with kind of average looking men than the opposite. That's kind of sad! +1 very true To the both of you and some others...... Glad you "would date" someone avg. like me..... just not what you find "attractive" Not like I give a shit...... But most of you would give a guy shit for saying some of the same things that you all are saying But hey who am I to call out double standards? Not a double standard at all. I would never give anyone crap about saying what physical type they found most attractive. Most of us are just "average" - not super models or hunks, but to that special person, we might be smoking hot. Anyway, if you don't like the results, blame the poll, not the people who voted. He asked about specific physical characteristics, not what we found attractive in general.
  3. No YouTube here. Why can't people just say the name of the song and the name of the band?

  5. Lots of people listen to most of the music listed here. Some of us learned that our musical tastes aren't quite as unique as we might have thought they were! And lots if us seem to have very eclectic taste in music, which is cool, IMO.
  6. Their next album is supposed to be released early next year, and they'll probably be back on tour as soon as the album is released. I assume they'll be touring then. I plan on seeing them whenever they are in town! They are awesome live- I saw them 2 years ago and I have a few of their concert DVDs. I highly recommend MTV Unplugged if you don't already have it. DVD and/or album.
  7. Marillion- Misplaced Childhood. One of my favorite albums, and definitely one of those albums that should be listened to in order from start to finish! I got turned on to that one when I spent the summer of 1985 in Europe. The Stranglers Aural Sculpture is another one from that summer. What a fabulous summer it was!
  8. Never here but there was a travel site I used to contribute to pretty regularly. The owner really didn't like the idea of a moderated forum and discussions could get out of hand fast. At one point, things got particularly ugly and I got caught in the crossfire. There were some really nasty posts directed at me and I had to contact him and ask him to remove them. (I like to think I have a pretty thick skin but this stuff was disgusting!) He did, then asked me to moderate the forum for him! I agreed to do it because I thought it was a really good site that gave out great information to people visiting that particular area, but a few knuckleheads were ruining it. He gave me magic "delete" powers and it was completely anonymous and at my discretion. (Drove a few people crazy to see their posts vanish but I tried not to go overboard with it.) I only did it for few months. The site started getting spammed pretty regularly and it was too much for me to keep up with on top of the idiots! He finally had to give in and require registration and log ons for everyone. Now the forum is more heavily moderated than ever! Every single entry is screened before it gets posted now, so the idiots have to play nice (or at least a little nicer) if they want to stay.
  9. Seriously? I love Glenn Miller. The whole big band era actually.
  10. Just to look at? Or to actually spend time with, have a conversation, etc? There's a difference.
  11. Manu Chao? Love him too! One of my buddies at the DZ turned me on to him.
  12. Its not that other people don't like the bands or music that I like. I like a lot of different music- I think my iPod pretty much runs the full spectrum. But, I listen to a lot of latin music- rock, more traditional stuff, and dance music like reggaeton. My favorite rock band is Mana and they only sing in Spanish. When people walk past my desk and hear Spanish rock or reggaeton, they tend to raise their eyebrows a bit.
  13. Out of curiousity- if you think people on this site will know you based on this post, will they also know her or her husband? If so, that's a pretty lousy way of letting her know how you feel. 2nd- is she happy? All you talk about is how YOU feel. If you really care about her, shouldn't you be happy for her if she's happy? Or worried for her if you feel like she's made a mistake?
  14. Yeah- my night vision would be good enough to do one and if I broke my leg, it would heal right away!
  15. What do you mean by "STILL" want to know you? j/k just don't bite me and we'll be fine .............
  16. All the vampire books I've read- if your hair is long when you are turned, it stays long. You can cut it but it grows back while you're sleeping in your coffin during the day. So, seems to me that the reverse would be true. Oh yeah, and if you've got moobies or a beer belly when you are turned, you've got them for eternity! But stuff like cancer and bad knees are all better. And you won't age anymore.
  17. I think it depends on which series of vampire books you read, also. I think your knees would get better, but you would still be old and bald!

    Guys and BJ's

Really? I thought I had pretty much already killed it. It would take more than that to kill a BJ thread in this forum!

    Eating clean....

You didn't come off that way at all. I just don't want Renee to feel like I'm dissing her plan. Its working for her, and its also grounded in common sense. It just wouldn't work for me long term. A few years ago, I tried Atkins. Like a lot of people, before I tried it, I had that idea that it was the "bacon diet" - I made fun of it and the people who thought they could lose weight eating bacon cheeseburgers without the bun. The truth is, when I stuck with it the way it was supposed to be used, I also ate "cleaner" and a much healthier more balanced diet than I ever had before. I felt great, never went hungry and the weight was melting off with very little effort. I still try to stick to a lot of those concepts most of the time. The problem is, when I get too "rigid" with myself for too long, it tends to backfire. I remember falling off the "carb wagon", not climbing back on and just how quickly I reverted to my old eating habits (and my old size....... )

Whatever works for YOU, right? I'm not knocking what Renee is doing at all. She's working hard and getting great results.

    Eating clean....

Truthfully, I know that's the way to go. High protein, low carb, avoid the processed foods. In the long run, I feel a lot better when I stick to that. But in practice, I generally eat what I want, and just try use a little common sense and moderation. I find when I really focus on "dieting" I end up feeling deprived and hungry. Life is too short to do that to myself on a long term basis- besides, when I start feeling that way, I am much more likely to crack and binge on the really bad stuff!
  22. I don't know if he's "the guy for you" if he can laugh at that, but if he leaves the room, he definitely ISN'T!
