  1. We got a ton at my house. They started up around 3:00 and I shut out my porch light at 8:00. We almost ran out of candy! Mostly small kids too, with their parents or older siblings! We did get a couple of teenagers who were really too old to be trick or treating- one of them was smoking! But, they were dressed up, so they got candy!
  2. I never brought anything except maybe newspaper which I put over MY head when people started squirting the water pistols. That WAS the first place I ever got patted down by security though! (which could explain why I never brought anything but newspaper!)
  3. As I recall, the toilet paper is shown every time Doctor Scott appears and the audience says "Great Scott!"
  4. I doubt I'd do him justice. He lost a toggle on landing in June of 1997 after videoing a tandem. He didn't make it. I *think* Pud went back to Texas, but I don't know if he made any more jumps.
  5. Thanks for posting that. The picture made me smile, but made me sad at the same time. I didn't know him well at all, but I remember him and Pud cruising around the dz on his scooter.
  6. That's hilarious! Remind me to stop at the store and pick up some Heinekens for tonight's game! I got the shirt yesterday, but I just KNEW something was missing!
  7. Shhhh- don't tell Bo! Especially if they got tickets he couldn't get! Lots of people are riding the wagon for now, but how many will stay on for next season?
  8. Don't be a hater! I've got my Jenks T-Shirt! The truth is, as excited as the city is right now for the Sox, if it were the Cubs, there would be sooooo much more happening! That's just how it is! For some reason, we love our Cubbies no matter what, but the Sox need to make it to the World Series just to get a little attention! Sure, its wrong, but that's the way it is!
  9. I'm a Cub fan and that doesn't bother me a bit. Just shows they can be gracious! I know you're a little bitter about the Sox being Chicago's number 2 baseball team regardless of performance, but that's just the way it is!
  10. $400.00 a DAY???? Sure beats working for a living!

    MLB sucks

I actually think its more about ratings and advertising dollars than anything else. BUT, I also think there shouldn't be any whining in the world series. Roof open or closed, I think its a dumb argument- neither team should want or need any unfair advantage, real or perceived. It just cheapens the game. And my own personal belief is that baseball and football are both sports that were meant to be played outdoors! (Maybe I'm just jealous because my city doesn't have any domed stadiums!) Enough arguing, the decision's already been made!
  12. I've only seen the movie once, but damn, what a novel! I don't actually think the movie does it justice.
  13. Its the Alzheimers- he simply forgot where he was!

    MLB sucks

OK, Devil's advocate here........... If closing the dome roof could give the Astros the appearance of an unfair advantage (one totally within their control) then weather permitting, why not leave it open? Do you Astros fans really believe they can't win without distracting the competition with excess noise? Was it that big of a factor during the playoffs and do they really need that edge to win? Sounds like a big deal over nothing either way. Sox fans/ players complaining about an unfair advantage or Houston complaining that their potentially unfair advantage was taken away? On the pathetic scale, I think Houston might be winning, but its close. I *think* the MLB is trying to avoid all of it because its just plain ugly! Why not let them play and win the old fashioned way? The team that wants it the most and plays the best should come out on top, right? And the weather argument simply doesn't apply. The Sox aren't any more used to playing in crappy weather than any other team. Its not like post season play is a regular event in Chicago!
  15. OK, I see that you want to cut him some slack for some reason. Bottom line, he extended his olive branch only to you, so why on earth should Squink accept it? If he was sincere, he would have attempted to apologize to the people he offended.
  16. Cora, He did NOT apologize to her. He made a half assed apology to YOU for offending her. (Probably because he's cyber flirting with you.) If he bothered to make a real apology, your question might be valid. Have you read the stuff he's posted? I'm not just talking about Squink's thread either. He's gone out of his way to be offensive at every turn. Suddenly, people who call him out on it are being called cliquish and small minded.
  17. I'm a grown up. I don't appreciate a lecture on how to deal with trolls, nor do I appreciate being accused of being part of some clique mentality.
  18. Maybe you should read his posts before you go passing judgement on the people who are sick of him. Just a thought........
  19. Virtually every post in every thread he contributes to is either obnoxious or offensive. He's a troll, nothing more. He must have a pretty pathetic life if this is how he gets his kicks.
  20. Don't try and give anyone the crap about newbies having to "tow the line" areound here. No one is picking on you because you're the new guy. You've gone out of your way to be rude, offensive at at time downright hurtful, for no reason other than your own amusement. Grow up or move along.
  21. Over the past 15 years or so, I've actually had two of my cats test positive and both times turned out to be false alarms. And Speedy, what's really funny about your landlady's cat and what was growing in your closet is that when my youngest cat tested positive last year, the vet made me wait a month before retesting and also told me she highly doubetd that the results would be any different. (Needless to say, she no longer treats ANY of my cats!) So, anyway, I started out all freaked out and depressed, then I just accepted that it might be true and started doing research on the disease and how to live with and care for an infected cat. Several people on various websites cited positive benefits from marijuana. Could be what you were growing in your closet cured your landlady's cat! lol Michele (the cat whisperer)'s post is as usual spot on accurate. You should get it checked out, but if its just sneezing and your cat is otherwise actingi normally, I doubt its anything serious!
  22. Well then do it and get off the internet! Who's the bigger loser? I'm at work stuck behind the computer so I might as well surf and post- what's your excuse?
  23. You made a nasty heartless post in response to someone greiving over the loss of a family pet. That pretty much says all I need to know about you. If you don't like being called an ass, don't act like one.
  24. I think that's a big part of it. There are plenty of people who just want to do it once, just to say they did it! SOme go in thinking that's what they're going to do, but they like it so much they keep going back. That was me! Even after I started AFP, I was still kidding myself into thinking I would just do it until I could do it alone. The first time someone suggested I ought to buy a trailer to keep at the DZ, I laughed! A year later, after spending an entire season tenting it every weekend, I had one!
