Whoa! So NO ENGLISH people are allowed at your DZ? t It's the year of the Pig.

I'm REALLY happy with Birdman Pantz, although in truth I seldom freefly in them. I use them for everything. There should be stock Pantz on the Birdman site, otherwise the wait is 6 - 8 weeks. Good luck. t It's the year of the Pig.

You are a master of understatement. t It's the year of the Pig.

That tells you how high you were one second ago - when conditions are perfect... t It's the year of the Pig.

"Long and thin, will it stay in? Short and fat is where it's at!" Regardless of how you fold your PC, a vertical non spandex pouch will never hold the PC as well as a horizontal spandex pouch. t It's the year of the Pig.

The length of the velcro on the suit is to accomodate those who use a small rig. Start mating the shrivel flap at the entrance to the BASE pouch. When it reaches your rig, mark that point, and ensure the hook velcro is covered by a seperate piece of pile velcro beyond that. There is always a bit of "slack" where the bridle makes the jump to your rig. Remember that the use of the shrivel flap reduces the effective length of your bridle considerably, so make sure it's long enough. The PC is VERY prone to coming out when you are walking. Keep a hand on it when you're moving around. It's VERY difficult to put back in yourself when it comes out - and there are few people familiar or even comfortable with the concept of a pilot chute not mounted on the rig. t It's the year of the Pig.

Ahh. That's sounding a lot more "real" now. Someone calculated the 161 MPH less the 40kt uppers as 114 MPH. Now with the 3D component added - the speed comes down closer to the 90 MPH that Birdman Inc believes the suit is capable of. Still nice to show people though... t It's the year of the Pig.
-
leoholanda is right about the 3D speed, I think. When I turn the unit on, and it's aquiring, it 1st says 2D plus the accuracy, then later 3D plus the accuracy. That may drop the true speed quite dramatically. I emptied the memory completely yesterday and wore it on one (pretty crappy as far as the numbers go) flight. I'll try and download that one - but not tonight... as it's Valentines day! t It's the year of the Pig.

Really? That does make me feel a little less dumb... I thought the only difference was the power source. Taya and I chose batteries over the rechargeble version due to our frequent trips to places that preclude a recharge every 14 hours.. A pocket full of tripple A's weighs very little.. It has the plug and the PC connectivity cable, and I've managed to upload waypoints, routes and tracks from our Garmin E-Trex Venture and Legend. I'm not sure what software version I'm running though. t It's the year of the Pig.

I don't seem to be able to download the track... It's kinda long, bits of the US, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia.. That's what happens when you leave things on Auto, I guess... I've attached a pic of the GPS taken with my phone showing Max speed. The reflection of the Birdman T shirt is completely coincidental. t It's the year of the Pig.

Before you start a thread in the Incidents Forum or reply to post please consider the guidelines below: The purpose of this forum is to report, discuss and learn from fatal and serious non-fatal incidents. Most, if not all, new threads here should start with the report of an actual incident. General safety issues or small and potential incidents should be posted to the Safety and Training forum. Incidents include: malfunctions, cutaways, wraps, collisions, crash landings etc. I trust everyone will use their good judgment before starting a thread or disposing of advice. In case of a fatality please post your condolences to the Talkback forum and keep this forum for discussion. It's the year of the Pig.

Hell yeah... Just put the bag down and back away slowly, birdbabe... t It's the year of the Pig.

Yes. The US used them as soon as they got them. I think other countries may too. Technology is a strange thing. What the average Marine carries around would have made him a near GOD on the battlefeild 500 years ago. Technology moves. The only hurdle now is finance, and we all know as skydivers that people can afford to do things they can't really afford to do. When you take a life time dictator - like Robert Mugabe, who's 80 years old and has proven for decades that he doesn't give a shit about his country.. what does he have to lose when his back is to the wall? Saddam is a sadder case. He was put there by the US. The WMD's he used to gas his own people was given to him by the US. Then he got nailed by the US. I think he would have negotiated if he had nukes. He would have enjoyed the power more than the use. t It's the year of the Pig.

Whoa! That things BROKEN! ROSANNE BARR? SMALL AND LIGHT? t It's the year of the Pig.

He sounds like a lucky devil who prefers not to be in the limelight. Why do they call it limelight? Is that made from Lemons? t It's the year of the Pig.

Lost main, Need advice about canopy for replace...

Look. You've already made up your mind what you're going to do. What you want us to do is tell you it's a good idea - but I don't think it is. Go and buy your Robo-Z. It's cheap and will fit in your container. There. Happy now? t It's the year of the Pig. -
"Know when to act" and "Always evaluate" are worlds apart. Dicking around for 15 min evaluating whether to bash a proffesor in the teeth is a lifetime. That kind of dithering is unacceptable. t It's the year of the Pig.

Looking at the recent behavior of the US, I doubt many small countries are truely paranoid. The US could go in, on a whim, false or misleading intel, without UN consent, and turn their countries into the bloodbath that Iraq has become. Having nukes precludes all that. Having nukes makes negotiation a nessesity. Nukes are to the 21st century country what the Colt "Peacemaker" was to the 19th century forntiersman. The big equaliser. The way I see people in the gun threads insisting how they NEED assault rifles to defend themselves in their homes, so we'll see small countries wanting nukes. For "home defense" against a "with us or against us" foe. I think we'll see MASSIVE proliferation of nuclear weapons in the next 20 - 50 years, in a world many times more volitile than it was in the cold war days. t It's the year of the Pig.

Me! Me! We'll see a "Learning my lesson" thread in incidents which may or may not have a happy ending. Loading at 1.4 with sub 100 jumps and no coaching is simple lunacy, in my opinion. t It's the year of the Pig. -
So.... what took him so long? t It's the year of the Pig.

Yeah, That - and the fact that I think that bashing it around is a very bad idea. Prevention is better than cure. Everyone knows that! t It's the year of the Pig.

What's your skydiving goal this year?
Tonto replied to tetra316's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
This year? It was to become a BMI... but I already did that in January. -
No such thing as a good looking child molester. Are people saying good things about Michael Jackson because he's talented, rich and famous? Or are they saying he alegedly abused his position of trust when dealing with minors? It's a crime. Put her away for 100 years. I wasn't ready for sex at 13. I'm glad I waited as long as I did. t It's the year of the Pig.

Me and my SO. Been happy together for... a lot longer than this thread's been going!

Hey! Looks Like I'll owe you beer if I ever do that! Is your flock migrating North? What did Mrs Courteney think of the rodeo? t It's the year of the Pig.
