It is a STUPID idea with a Square. This resulted in a fatality last year in Washington. They were "towing" behind a truck. Very sad.... I cant say enough this is not a godd idea. The idea goes along OK as long as the canopy is in the wind but if it gets turned out a little too much before you correct you will get driven into the ground and hurt. It happens FAST and it is not like if the canopy turns you fly that way, there is an attachment point and the canopy will pivot off of it and fly straight into the ground... I was very against this idea before the fatality I noted above and it stems from an experience from 10 years ago. It was again only reinforced by the fatality last year. The time 10 years ago we were doing it with a 7-cell and were having a great time. I had just gotten off of my "flight" and a buddy went up. We had the wrong type of rope and a huge gust hit with him at the "top", the rope broke and the canopy colapsed with the release of tension. The gust was probably 25-30 and he flew/fell backwards trying/fighting to inflate the canopy. Just by luck it partialy inflated just before he hit about 75-100 yards away. It did some real damage though and to be honest he was very lucky to be alive. He was in the ICU for almost a week and then took over a year to get better. Broken leg, hip on one side back dammage and broken shoulder and arm on the other side. He had hit in a bit of a rollish plf so that is probably what saved his life. I mention this and note the severity of what can happen by doing this. I am 100% against this and hope the two incidents I note never happen again. Bored skydivers and a bad weather day can be a bad combination.... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Brian, Are you going to update the Sam's line set now? Or is there no need with the way it is now. Also what is the time you suggest on the lower control line replacement for the vectran on the Sam's line sets? Just curious...... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!" -
Watching then following out a Mr. Bill jump. That is always nice to see work but the cool part was after landing looking up and seeing the pax basically make a Wingsuit BASE jump from the parachute. It was cool to see a long delay with the wingsuit from the other jumper. The guy with the wingsuit then came in and hit a dead center. Just one thing that pops into my mind, I am sure I could think of a bunch more... but that was cool. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

the picture is nice but you did not need to get so close. Come on now, the effect of the tat might have been better if you were shooting the shot from a couple feet back. You know, bumps and all to give the full effect... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I have a question for you then, Why an 85 if you found teh best performance was at 2.1 to 2.2?? Going to 2.6 might make it fly faster but your well into the point of diminishing returns for that speed? Just curious. Basically my questions is what performance characteristic do you like that wins out over the shorter swoop at 2.6 compared to 2.1-2.2??? Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I think your at the "Baby Caffeine" level Now when I was in Graduate School, that was an ode to Caffeine. Usually "all day" filled with Caffeine products. Mind you "all day" means morning through the afternoon and going into the later part of the evening. Not wanting to be too hyped up though from all of the caffeine, this mode was usually followed by an Ode to Beer and pool.... It was a vicious cycle, needed the caffeine to get up from the night before which was needed to relax from the Caffeine... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Did ya vote on the movie?? http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=952638;#952638 I have been suprised that it is such an overwhelming "Love" of the movie by the votes. I thought it would be more of a "Liked it" response. I did not come out of it saying "WOW, I loved that movie!!" Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I think he is talking after they are taken out of the unit at the 2 year or 500 jump point. But I could be wrong, it is just how I read it... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

0:1:1 0 --> love a good fight now and then 1 --> thanks Corey for spurring me out the the DZ with the request for a Wake Up call "if the clouds were high enough or it was sunny" 1 --> spent a good chunk of a bad WX weekend with the Rug Doctor steam cleaning system. Need that kind of thing with a 17+ Y/O dog. he keeps kicking along and is not ready to go down yet but that does not mean is is as "trained" as he once was Scott C. Separate from that, I am curious as to the sizes they are planning on offering. It is probably in the thread BUT since it was started awhile back and sits at 85+ posts I did not go back and look. I know the vids and the pics but not the sizes if they were noted. Again regarding the design, though not an airlock in the Brian G. design, BTW which I am a fan of and jump (have a Samurai), it is still very similar in final result to a Airlock. Still noodling over the "spill over the top" issue for airflow, seems like a nice design though. I would be curious to see more of the canopies around and see the feel from others, or even myself if I could get my hands on one. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

The Tye dy eis Kweel but I would go with the darker Navy Blue. Mine is Navy with Jade Tye Dye. Think of the Jade being replaced with the Orange you want... The Wings system is sweet! Verey comfy!! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

You should try Blue Skies over in Bremerton if you want a slow nice pace compared to Snohomish, -OR- K-pow for a more up paced DZ in the NW. Oregon is great fun and very UP Paced while another slower pace place that is fun is Toledo.. They all have things that I like so I try and go to them all durring the year! Scott C. My guess is there is a very discrete flow chart that you have to follow to get to the right button. Unfortunately that button, though apparantly obvious, is behind a lock that can only be released by the proper sequence. You can push the button all night long and get no response unless you follow the proper procedure!! That translates to 99% of the time men are screwed! (or not screwed as the case may be ) Scott C. I know its real and have always wondered about GG climbing into the harness as well as doing the upside down hang?? What I mean is I heard about the harness under his clothes but for him to get into the harness he has to "Unhook" at some poing t I would imagine. Also for the upside down part is he hooked i.e. started that way or did he switch safety points??? Anyway, a little insite would be appreciated for quelling years of wondering.... Could jsut be his little secret as well, never know.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
