    new canopy!

Something like this (seeattachment)? That would look nice in the air I do believe! What load were are you on the 136/120? I love the 136 but was thinking a 120 might be better. Getting great landings at the load of about 1.7, but jumping the load up to about 1.9 may put it in the more optimal performance envelope. I was waiting to hear about the status of the Sensi before deciding. That is something that is intreaguing. Colors as it is are OK but I am not overly concerned about that. I should call brian an see if he has a demo 120 I can play with for a weekend.... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  2. Wings had my delivered right on time, they shipped it within in one day of stated time when I ordered! Also I talked to a guy that needed it right away and it was in his hands as promised on the rush service.. Current time is stated at 10 or 11 weeks on the webpage..... As a side I think VSE has custom delivery at 5-6 weeks now. Also a very nice rig at a good price. They do a great job but gotta give love to my wings. And Kelly is right on the reserve packing, it seems that you need to get more in the molars to get it to look good.. I first packed it just like a Javelin and found I needed to make a few adjustments to make me happy (read that as re-distribute some reserve bulk to the molar). Scott C. 4. I agree on the reserve packing, the split is very nice but not really a needed on reserves that are not "big" for the container. The spring is strong and gives a great launch. In the case of Wings the price is good but that is by no means cheap in workmanship. At least from what I can tell! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  5. I'm not against them going espically if there is an opening. I dont know all the rules for Freestyle events but how come there can be more then one representative team from the US?? I know there are differences between World Cups and World Meets regarding RW events... One team allowed (world championship) vs multiple teams from different countries allowed (world competition) Space Center FX won the world cup in '98 but were not the world champions as it was not the championship year... There were 4 US teams at the meet. http://www.omniskore.com/comp/1998/world_cup/results4.htm Again If there is an opening, Dos gatos please take the slot and get on the medel platform, more power to you. I am just not sure about the # of teams allowed in Freestyle thing.... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  6. I would be shocked if you were not allowed to add slink bumpers to the rig.... Given you had a problem as it is and by adding them it reduces the chance of this problem happening again. Besides that it is not like it is a huge modification here, it is easy and non-envasive to the rig.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

  8. Why not?? Unless your here to find out something that you want to use against your kid who jumps... Why do you ask? Have you been asked not to be here and post?? Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  9. I posed a real question. That should keep it here, right?? I do agree it probably is better here then in Talk Back or in General as it is probably a good help for people, maybe a streach on that but I dont think it is way off for this forum..... Besides, there is not a "Rig Love" forum.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

    new canopy!

I love my Sam 136! I probably load it a bit more then you.... What colors did ya get? Is it a Signature series ort a PD build? Congrats, Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  11. The rig is spankey new. The reserve is packed up in the noted picture. Also the rig has the cut in laterials. As was noted by Kelly where this is on these rigs, maybe this is a characteristic of that design. Dont know but it was something I noted on an old J3 I had years ago where I always worried about packing so that it would catch. Like I said it is something that is probably not a big deal but I wanted to see if it was noted by others.. Scott C. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  12. Let me translate to what I saw here... "Blah BBLLEAAAH, Blah..WHHHAAA WWWHHHAAAA WHA WhA WHHHHAAAAAA. " Welcome to the winter life of most other skydivers in the US.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  13. Here is a pic... BTW the soft links are the ones that BeezyShaw is selling in classfied. They are the "Hyper Links" I think... I wanted to try a pair and they are pretty nice! Easy to put on and cheaper then Slinks. Just thought I would throw in a quick review Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  14. It works! With my Sam I do basically that maybe slightly different, I really dont pay a whole lot of attention now. After you jump an airlocked canopy for awhile you dont even think about it, first few times in wind, that is a different story. Now even on a windy day I see other people hainvg more problems then me. It is just getting use to it! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  15. It was posted in Talk Back, at least Ivan is not here to write a ticket
  16. Here ya go... Quick question and a way to get the thread back onto a gear and rigging topic to make the powers that be happy !! Does anybody else notice/have a "catch" in the bottom corners of the reserve tray. What I mean by catch is that the corners of the reserve tray are not sewed in, maybe a 1/4 to 1/2". Not "in" the reserve tray but at the top of the main pack tray in the riser channel. This leaves a little catch or ledge I can feel with my finger. I am carefull about not getting the riser and the lines under the catch as it could cause a twist as the bag is commmming off my back. I will get a picture tonight.. It is a new rig and I do not know if it is part of the design or not. I had someting similar on a old Javelin I had and just packed accordingly. Just curious.... Scott C. Edited to show what I am askig about. Again not a huge deal but curious if anybodyelse sees this... "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  17. 16 weeks!! Are they getting on top of production now?? It was like 24week for the wait a little bit ago. Good for you! Nice rig. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  18. I got a new Wings container and the dive loops they have on the set they provided were nice. The lay to the side and not square on top of the riser. As a result they are easy to grab.... I will post a pic later unless someone else can get it up. If so I wont bother... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  19. I went back and looked and see that you did not start the thread but regardless of how it started you seem to have become the focus. I am not a canopy nazi by any streach but I will stick to what I posted before based on a number of years of experience and seeing lots of people go through progressions and some of them get hurt. You really need to take the advice from others and you say you do but I dont see it here at all. There are a number of people that are posting with lots of experience and you seem to be blowing them off because you dont like what they are saying. Seeing that is what made me write what I did. You do say you listen but from the reactions you toss out as responses from seemingly good advice, I am curious who you listen to. I dont think that 80 jumps and a 1.6 load is going to be suggested by anyone???? I hope you learn and dont get hurt but I would take the "under" bet on this one for the long run. And I still stick to what I wrote based only on the your tone in this thread... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  20. I look at jumping a canopy smaller then your experience level to be like a wait and anticipate game. Not for you but for the people around you. The analogy I can come up with, for the other people, is that every time you land people are going to get the feeling like driving on the highway, maybe just a touch too fast. You see a cop with lights flashing coming up from behind. You start to feel that little worrisome tingle, you know that it may be you that is getting the ticket. It gets worse as the cop gets closer and then finally he goes by you and your free and clear. You feel much better but know that it easily could have been you watching the landing gone bad, oh sorry about that, I mean getting a ticket... It is a % thing, the odds are against you getting the ticket but it always seems to happy at least once to all of us.... Your "odds" say that 85%, 90%, 95% hell maybe even 99% of the time you will not have a problem with you canopy during opening, flying, approach and landing. That is good for you and better for the people around you. But, when something does happen out of the usual chain of events you expect, and it will, the experience you don’t have would have been indispensable.. Under a loaded HP canopy things can and do happen very fast. If you don’t have the experience for the proper reaction/action, %’s flop highly in favor you getting broken up. People here are just trying to help and you are being extremely bullheaded. Every one is saying basically the same thing, but that does not seem to mean anything to you and I don’t know why??? It is too bad you are so defensive and wont listen, why did you even bother posting the question to begin with??? It would really suck it you did have talent with regard to swooping. You will most likely never get to the point you want to be at by pushing it to fast too soon and getting hurt. That said, even if you do get to a point of being good, your attitude will never get you over the top most likely because you wont be able to take the advice that could really help you get better. That would have come from the people with more experience but we see how you take advice… Think about what people are saying, just because your looking at a tract record of 100% success so far, 50% of 80 total jumps under a HP canopy is really not that much.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  21. Ivan is right it would not be the best if you are a hard core gamer. It is WAY faster then dial up and depending on your set up close to the speeds of Cable, not quite as fast but on the main PC we routed it through it was lickety split. Slowed down when running through that computer to the home network. Still, even on networked computers it was at least 10X faster then dialup.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  22. I have a 1 year old Direcway system with all the stuff, its still on my house. I just went to Cable when it became available in my area. I was planning on getting it off my house and packaged all together for selling it on E-bay. I have been seeing them go for about $200. If you are intersted PM me and we can work out a deal. It is the complete set up.... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  23. Damnit, it was on the internet and just like TV everything is real! Good Bad or ugly, true or not, I enjoyed it and wanted to share... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  24. I think you already did... It was a small test set of non-skydiving people that I know that got it wrong. I expected this group to be more likely to get it right... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
