Given the rash of recent Bike purchases by people on here. Does anybody know a good source for parts for a '88 Honda Shadow VT1100C. I have one that I am trying to get goingand am looking for some parts: Rear shock absorber Driver pegs How about a good source for new tires?? I have a lead on a new tank (needed) and a 3 peice seat set (not needed but if can be bouyght cheap why not). As you might guess it is a great bike the last owner dumped. I want to get it up and running again and ride the shit out off it. Just a random asking the masses thought Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

People have noted some pro's and con's with ROL vs BOC. Personally I like the BOC but jumped for manyyears with ROL. I like BOC since I know where the handel is even though I cant see it. I dont mind that give and take given there is no exposed bridle, or very little depending on the rig and BOC set up. Students with RipCords may be more comfortable transitioning to a ROL since that is a similar set up to many ripcord set-ups, yes I know it may be a longer reach but they can see the handel. Anyway. I have seen many rigs with both a BOC and a ROL pouch. If maintained properly both work great. Paragear sells replacement Spandex B.O.C. Pilot Chute Pockets for $15. Paragear number W97765. They are very easy to sew on and a rigger should be able to do it fast and cheap. We are talking probably 15min at most if you have the pocket. I would have copies a link but the paragear site is protected and searches in a strange way. The pocket is under the Miscellaneous section. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Has there been any reported problems with the "B" versions?? I have heard nothing regarding them or of a misfire problem since the recall was started... Also has Vigil put out any press releases or anything to owners that may be of interest?? KIM??????? Any word fro the head guys on the current status and reliability both in air and on ground of the B units............. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I have to say a Freak Bro's convention in the early 80's got me wanting to skydive and my parents againt it My uncle Dave Callantine FB#694 took me to a few boogies and I was a wide eyed kid. I think the last one I went to with him was at East Troy. Good times were most assuradly being had! He always had some great stories. I will pass along the FB website on to him. Scott C. Here is another question for the camera vets out there... I am looking for a remote switch for a Canon camera. the one the camera notes is a RS-60E3 but the cable is short, like 2.5 feet or something like that. What should I do in getting a remote trigger with a longer cable. What is the remote trigger y'all are using and did you buy one and modify it? Do they have a Canon compatable one with a longer cable? Thanks Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I have been poking around on different peoples camera settings for stills that have been noted here in the forums. It seems a lot of poeple are using "Tv" Shutter speed priority mode with a setting of about 350 on cloudy days and 500 on sunny days, manual focus and the camera doing the rest. Why is that prefered over "Av" Aperture Priority mode and letting the camera set the shutter. Maybe I am completely wrong in my thinking but if you set the aperture higher resulting in a deeper depth of field would that give you a better shot at getting an infocus shot? I really dont know and that is why I am asking the question. I am jsut curious why most seem to like the Tv mode? Any thoughts appreciated..... Thanks Scott C. Actually she may be hot but she is not Kinky. Read the papers and she was against the kinky stuff in the clubs. She even became "physically ill" and "Began to cry". Too bad since she is HOT. It will be hard to imagine her as a kinky bitch now that she is in court papers as stating not to be so.... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I saw them on E-bay. And you can do a Yahoo search with "Zenitar 16mm" and a bunch of hits come up. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Trying to find a lens is not hard but the conversion factor with the 24mm is kinda interesting. Cant find much info on it online but looking. Any words from people out thre. My guess is that the 24mm size is going to be in the ballpark of the chip on the 10D. I was reading that the 22-55 is like a s8 to 80 or so when using a 35mm format. Also looks like I can go cheap with the Zenitar 16mm but then I have to manually do everything. Does that seem to be an overload in trying to get a shot? Again the Still land is a beast it seems to me but I am trying.... Any help out there??? Thanks Brent for the info. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Ok I know its only an APS 24mm format but I have one lying around with a 22-55mm lens. It is not being used but when I did use it in the past (non-skydiving) it was great at getting good pics. I am thinking abouut mounting it on my camera helmet but figure I need a couple of things. First a different lens. I think the 22mm probably would be good but the zoom to 55 makes the lens long and I dont really need/want that for a freefall setting. What is a suggested lens to do skydiving shots?? Also I was wondering if setting it in a manual focus mode but in auto for the shutter. Is this the best way to go?? I can also only find a shutter cble that is 2' long. Any suggestions on getting a longer cable? or if I should get the standard cable and splice it for a length extension. I shoot video when I am asked and do a decent job. I am not usually the guy behind the camera though. I have been trying it more though and want to learn more to be better. But still photography seems to be an entirely different beast then video. Any good reading sites on the subject for skydiving or any "Start Here Settings" I should be thinking about? This Canon EOS IX Lite Camera is a full auto or full manual or about anywhere inbetween. Has anybody tried this camera? I know behind the times and all but I am not doing it as a pro or as my main skydiving direction but since I have the camera and want to get a better feel for it before sinking a bunch of money into the equiptment I might as well testwith what I already own.... Thanks Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Actually I saw that clip awhile back and I was the same way, . I could not believe it but after reaing some more about the stunt and the practice that went into it it seemed less crazy and well thought out, so to speak. He still has huge balls and is obviousaly very skilled for that stunt. BUT that said he did turn out and go over a valley to open. It also looked like he had a chance to make that turn at any point down the slope. I am niot taking anything away from that at all, it was badass but it seemed to be well planned. That said the low pull is still a no out stunt. It did not seem that he could have pushed it much further before pulling and it seems the margin for error on this stunt was much less. Sure there is a lot of speculation as to rigs and set up and exit platform and differences between BASE and Skydiving but the fact is both stunts are incredieble but to me the low pull seems slightly more crazy. I realize that this was probably not a skydiving exit on this stunt. Also after looking at the opening a few times it looks like a base rig with no D-bag but that is really out the window when it comes to Base vs. skydiving with wingsuits and in this case (IMHO). Either way the jumper is well past the time it would take to terminal and he was fully involved with his wingsuit flying as seen in his flight path. Airplane exit or cliff exit I dont think it matters in this situation. Makes no difference at all. That said and differneces in the two sports aside the timming is amazing, looks to get full presurization, or somewhat full at touchdown. Go a second later in the pull or fumble on the pull at all the guy is at the very least hurt..... Looks like no flare at all also. Back to the Skydiving or BASE issue and why I think it is irrelevant here. I have seen people put a base main in a skydiving rig (TSO'ed dual parachute harness system) to be legal for a jump out of a plane in the US. What difference does the exit point make if the canopy can go in a set up for either. The guy has bigger balls then me. In fact monster sized bigger balls then most people I would bet. The fact is he was frikking low and did not leave much room for error... again HOLY SHIT Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

http://www.flyinggnu.dk/?page=5&mode=showvideo&id=34 The website was posted to look at over in the photography section and I was poking around. Found one titled "Birdman Low Pull or something like that.. I cant read the reviews since I dont speak ".dk" that is, but my translation is something like "HHHHHOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLYYYYY SSSSSHHHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTT !!!!" with a look on my face... I dont think I need to describe it if you watch it but it is, welll , watch it to see.... My guess is it was a slider up base rig opening but still WOW 20meters with the open canopy maybe???? Scott C. I wanted to add a skydiving related question and am curious as to the response you might have. He was low and Slow but still way above what I would call a landable glide. Other then the thoughts of the opening altitude, or lack there of, you might have what does it make you think about pushing the limits in the sport?? I see it being a push, push, push but then somethings gonna happen to somebody. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
