  1. I am looking at getting a Stroboframe and looks like I just need to get the Manufact # 300QRC and an optional antitwist plate? Is that correct or am I missing another essential part? Just curious. Also I noted the max load on the Stroboframe is 6.5lbs. The camera is obviously less then that but in Freefall is there a strength issue with the strobo set up and a standard camera? Also if there is is there a suggested was to secure with the strobo? Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  2. Depending on how willing your going to be as a hostage will really influence those that are close enough to accomplish the request. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

  4. Well maybe 7 or 8 months if you get too manu after work jumps, not to mention the liquid crack from the tunnel.. Better make that possible not out of debt!! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  5. Lots of speculation and talk about it on the forums but lets hope to get some real feedback after this weekend... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  6. I forgot to add I am also a TI and I prefer the guy out on the step for many of the same reasons that Dave notes. I can see him better that way and I can dive at him for a better video shot of the passnger from there as well... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  7. Personally I like all the way out on the step looking back to the left. Give the TM a clean exit and I just lead a bit and get the shot of the plane going away. Simple and straight forward. I do know some people that like to hang back from the door frame along the side of the plane.... Different strokes I guess. I have tried it but think my being all the way out is a sure fire method and does not hinder the TM... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  8. Results are interesting: 2/3 of the total respondents (non-riggers) want the rules. I am a little suprised that only ~1/3 of the rigger respondents let the rules slide a little. I would imagine that more possibly do it on their own rigs but not on customers rigs.. I guess I should have made that an option for the riggers.... I am suprised that more would not be going over 12 years on the cypress though...... maybe not suprised at the same time though Thanks for playing Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  9. Not sunrise but could be.... Not sure it scaled as good as I wanted, oh well Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  10. My cam Eye has been great but last weekend I went to use it and it seemed to work fine. I went to use the buttonn to turn off the camera andit went from green to rapid fire red while I held down the button. It keopt doing this until I let up and it went back to green. At this point the CamEye was an indicator. It would not switch into record and it would not turn off the camera... It would however tell me if I was recording when I pushed the rec button on the camera... As a result I have been using an expensive indicator light... Wrote then and got a response that they cant tell whats wrong from my description but to return it to where I purchased it for a replacement. OK, I am thinking, I return it to the DZ who bought it from ParaGear.... How does my DZ get a replacement for my replacement.. I asked the company that is a response E-mail and have heard nothing back yet.... Any thoughts?? I guess it could be worse thogh, at least the indicator light is showing the camera status correctly.... Scott "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  11. Any opinions on the Sony DCR-TRV25 Mini-DV. I am putting together a different set up and have a great lead on one of these used. They guy says "Like New" and is including a bunch of accessories. This has not been used for skydiving previously.. The description is all well and good but has this been used much for jumping by anybody?? I have seen the bigger LCD brother , the "trv27" and the only thing I can see as different is the LCD size. Thanks, Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

  16. OK, I am looking at a "new to me" canon 2000. Thinking about giving in and going away from my ixLite. It can take a nice picture but the grain seems more evident compared to 35mm film. I have tried both 200 speed and 400 speed from Kodak in the APS. Seemed to be a little better with the APS film with setting about at the 28 to 35mm setting for zoom then at the 22 mm setting. Usually go at Tv with 350 or 500. I dont have a grand to shell out for the Digital rebel but do have the Sub $100 I can pick up a decent used rebel 2000 but w/o lens. I wanted to use my canon 22-55 lens and was wondering if anybody has tried this lens on a camera other then the ixLite? I know it acts like a different lens with the negative conversion factor between the 35mm and 24mm films But is there any issues I should be thinking about? I figured the same settings with a 100 or 200 speed film with the 35mm version. Another part of the desire to switch is lack of film choices and film cost with the APS format... Figured that the almost double size in negative should give me a better output. Are there any other issues I should be thinking abut with the Canon 2000 as it relates to skydiving???? Thanks Scott C. 23. First of all you need to look at what you want to do, you note freeflying but do you want to do belly as well. Are you going to be vertically challenged and need a smaller or bigger jumpsuit? There are a number of nice combination or middle of the road jumpsuits out there that will give good all around performance. I say get a middle of the road suit since you may still be wanted to explore different aspects of jumping while not buying multiple different suits. Another suggestion is to look to get an off the rack suit from a manufacturer. It will generally cost less and will fit much better then a student suit. I have always had great luck with Body Sport. I know the owner and he is a great guy with a very nice product. If you give them a call or look on line you will get lots of info and may be able to find a good suit that fits your needs..... Hope that helps a little and good luck in getting a suit! 24. Just ask her, I am sure she will tell you just that! I have not had the pleasure of meeting her yet BUT if she lives up to her dz.com reputation we should all be scared of meeting her. But in a good way that is... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  25. Corey, As much as I would hate to see you leave the Seattle area, ya gotta take the job! If it comes through that is. Going to Omaha might not be the ideal situation but look at it like this, if your family is there you can possibly replentish the bank funds that have dwindled a bit with a minimal amount of output for living expenses by using the family. Not ideal but you need to get back up and running again. Skydiving might be a lower priority for a short time but once your back up on your feet and have the cash again, get your own place and take a trip about every month in the winter to a nice warm jumpy spot. You gotta admit you have had a good run regarding the unemployment thing, again not the funest of times but still you were not doing too bad... One bad thing is that ACME might get to 2 hours before you if this happens! Honestly, ya gotta take the job if it comes through. "A bird in the hand is better then two in the bush........" Being broke and living in the back of a big red truck hoping that it is not repoed would really suck compared to living in Omaha, even if that plan did let you stay in Seattle Scott C.
