  1. that was nice... Gotta say the winds were really messing with some of the swoops though, some looked really freaky with the canopy bucking some.. Couple in the carvung course really got grabbed then I noticed the wind blade in the didtance.... I guess there was a little wind Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  2. Nice pics and looks like good way to spend a B-day! As a side Loved the shot under the tandem, you do/dont use a flash?? Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  3. A cessna 182 for a S/L jump.. Did #2 same day it was so fun... Sold my motorcycle to keep jumping and get some gear.... Gotta love a 182 DZ!! Did not jump anything bigger till about 100 jumps... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  4. Jays record is outstanding and hats off to the technical aspects of being able to lift that many times.. Super coordination in aircraft and packing of the armada of rigs for Jay.. BUT that said I would be very interested in the total number of jumps by a single jumper in a 24hr perioid packing him/her-self.. Again taking NOTHING away from Jays record but that would be an outstanding feat: Turn around times of 10 min might be the fastest - 3 to 5min for a pack, 3 or so mintues to 2100 in a cessna, 1.5 to 2min to get back to start point... That is about 10min and assumes that you are packing right next to the runway..... Anybody know? The 10 min thinking would yeild a 24 hour total of 144 jumps Scott C. 5. Rob, Gee, the answer seems obvious.. Just send the $ Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  6. The joke when I got my Tandem rating years back was "It is not "IF" but "WHEN" you will have a tandem chop" SO I think there is some level of belief that tandems will get you a function more often. With the size of the canopy it seems the two most common functions are line overs from sloppy packing and tension knots probably also from sloppy packing.. To put another twist on it, in the lst 5 year snapshot of my skydiving time, I have 3 tandem functions and 1 (a spinning mal) on my sport rigs. Maybe there is something to do with it. Each Tandem function was from a DZ packer, not my own pack.. I blame packing and sloppy packers trying to get the extra $10 Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  7. have to agree as I also got my Stroboframe off of E-bay forabout that.... Works awesome!! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  8. spendy to jump there I guess that is why there are lots of jumpers from around the world making lots of jumps in the states: at todays exchange rate: 20,000.00 GBP United Kingdom Pounds = 36,592.47 USD United States Dollars 1 GBP = 1.82962 USD 1 USD = 0.546561 GBP or to look at it another way, a common ticket price in the US is $20: 20.00 USD United States Dollars = 10.9325 GBP United Kingdom Pounds 1 USD = 0.546625 GBP 1 GBP = 1.82941 USD Scott C. 9. I cant tell very well but it looks like the lef upper clip is not all the way on and is not closed all the way as a result.... Is that it?? Hard to tell.. Double check if our doing a tandem all of the connections.... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  10. I am curious as to if the stepthrough was above the risers? Also what is the main and I am guessing it was not flat packed??? Other then that, I am glad you got through the 1st Tandem Chop. I was told years ago that "if you do tandems it is not a question of ->ifwhen

  12. I dont hav a clue but I judt did a quick Jahoo search and found this site: http://www.walkaboutstudio.com/wedding/wphrate.html http://www.ctphotojournalist.com/rates/index.shtml or http://www.tomellisphoto.com/weddings.htm Hope that is a good starting point. Might be cool to poke around the sites to get an idea on the stuff others are doing, always good to pick up new tricks and ideas... Hope that helps, Scott C. 13. There are a 4 versions of them noted. http://www.shop.viosport.com/store/customer/ourgear.php?page=gear_overview The manufacturer page has some good information including camera compatability information/lists.... http://www.shop.viosport.com/support/index.php?page=compatibility Looks like a good number of the cameras out there will work but more will not. They basically say that you need to have a "AV in/out" on the camera, not the firewire in/out. Like most manufacturers they say "check you manual" and "If you can record to your camcorder from a VCR or other analog output source" it should work.... Scott C. 14. Damnit Billy, just read the lips.. Throw your $12.50 to the movie machine then anpother $20 for snacks.... I dont see a problem with that.... Stop showing some smarts after the shityour throwing up here, goina confuse people..... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  15. I'd tell everyone to FUCK OFF!! and laugh about the fact that they would still be trying to kiss my ass.. I would go skydive and again tell everyone to FUCK OFF and laugh when they all wanted to jump with me... No really I would, why not, 99% of the people out there would do anything to be near a famous ass hole. Unfortunanly I am just an ass hole, no fame for me.... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  16. because that is the only way they can tell you that they like being palyed with...... Duuuhhhhh! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  17. It might save your neck but its specs say: Resolution: 380 TV lines About half of standard today... like I said good for specality jumps but probably not usefull for selling and the such... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  18. I thought it would go with out being said but ti much: Make sure the Wind Tunnel Cam is ON!! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  19. Me?? I hope not but dont doubt it..... Scot C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  20. Well I can think of a couple of basic offers from manufacturers... Dolphin and Genera. They never did very well and were preceived as lower end.... They did exactly what your noting, basic rig very little options and lower cost Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  21. Ok I can see that but it then becomes a more of a speciality shot type of thing..... I can thinkof a few fun shots as well but still not an every jump thing.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  22. I basically go through a opening sequence gone bad each jump before exit. think about the Pitch and then watch opening going bad and then chop and reserve... different function nowand then but keeps me thinking.... I do it on every jump and it is kinda like a ritual almost. I also check the 3 rings and make sure all is routed correctly, they are since I check it before I put it on but it is a habit.. I guess it "comforts" me. Do it before a tandem, video, or sport jump... I alos adjust my leg straps and tuck them away before door opens and climb out. High or low it does not matter, same about every time.... Scott C. and I dont plan on stoppingany time soon, oh well call me crazy... It works for me.... "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  23. that loos cool and all but what good is it if you have to hook it up to a camcorder anyway? I guess yu could stick it into a pouch and then run the lens up to whatever? Mabe I am missing the usefulness of this???? Cool though but you need a camcorder anyway... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  24. It is actually not written as "In the saddle" it is container opening altitude. See below fro USPA BSR's: Minimum container opening altitudes above the ground for skydivers are: 1. Tandem jumps--4,500 feet AGL 2. All students and A-license holders--3,000 feet AGL 3. B-license holders--2,500 feet AGL 4. C- and D-license holders--2,000 feet AGL So in the situation noted as long as the "A" license jumper pitched his chute quick out the door I would interpert it that he would be fine under the BSR's. Being "B" qualified really should not be looked at I guess but looking at it from the point of view of a 2500' min opening altitude you should be able to do a couple of flips get stable do a turn and still open the container before 2500' (IMHO) .. Now looking at it from the point of view that the opening altitudes are given for a terminal opening your much better off going out low from a plane then pitching at the same altitude at terminal. Look at a 2000' exit. Terminal to the ground is approx 11 sec away. Same altitude from an exit is about 16 -17 sec away.... Which is safer?? $0.02 tossed in from me.... oh well its not worth much with inflation.. Scott C. edited to add, DAMN DAVE BEAT ME TO IT!! "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
  25. Maybe I missed something here?? You are talking about getting your main re-lined but you have a separate issue with a reserve in the miriage? TSO will not apply to the main at all and you can jump what you want. I just scanned briefly the Gear and rigging for a Mirage TSO issue and it did not jump out at me? I easily could have missed something but.. Can some one toss a bone here?? Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
