Heard from some people that were jumping it last weekend that it was "awesome" I think one guy called it and "anti-gravity machine" Sounds like Pat and Rex have gotten a good airplane for the Spokane area, congrats ! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

My first reaction is "WOW" I would guess that your profile is not updated as what it says now is not enough for a tandem rating but assuming that it is the motovation you are using is maybe not the best. Tandem jumps are not just another jump. Getting you rating is a process of learning and probationary jumps with experienced jumpers then with "live" passangers. Getting the rating for a specific weekend a few days ahead with one of the primary motovating factors being money might not be the best course of action. All of this is separate from the Softball Team. You owe it to that group to go to nationals as it is a once in a lifetime thing in many situations. Besides that you have made a committment to the team. You will have a good time at Nationals and would probably regret it if you did nt go. "Big" skydiving weekends will always come along and I am sure that given the time of year and just being the begining of the jumping season many more will come along! Scott C. As a newer camera guy you will find that sometimes the easiest and safest (for getting the video) is to peel off the plane with the team, basically you dont lead them but as they exit and start to move past, keep them in frame and by turning your head then go. You keep them in frame the whole time and end up on top looking at the team and the ground.... Going with this exit will give a good chance to get a feel for the team and the exit count they use. Once you have the count pretty secure you can move to a leading exit. But the surest exit for the shot is to peel off IMHO.. You might want to post this in Photog and Video as you will get some advice there as well and maby the link your looking for, I cant think of one of the top of my head. Scott C. Yes she can slow WAAAAAYYYY down in that suit..... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Prefer to pack myself. Bad luck on a few openings with packers so I jsut would rather do it myself. Besides I pack fast so not that big a deal. About 5-6 min pack average for me so not that much time..... Other then Tandems, my sport jumps are probably less then 1% packed by a packer.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I was thinking of a flatbed scanner that has the film negative adaptor. You can pick them up for from 40 to 100 depending on the unit. I was looking at the following but really was curious if somebody had used one to do this.... Example "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

OK, any advice or sugggestins on this? What scanner works best tricks on it ect. I have a bunch of negatives and I would like to just scan the ones I like and not have to take them to the shop to get them to due what looks to be something that I can do at home. I can pick up a HP scanner with the negative holder but before I go buy one I was curious if anybody is doing that and if so what the results are like.... Thanks, Scott C. I think he is refering to his Reserve Hard Deck or Decision Altitude.. Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!" -
They are actually a good rig. Sandy at RI calles the Flexon the "Voodoo 1.0" as many of the features from the flexon went into that rig. Mind you I am biased as I had 3 of them and still have one as a backup rig. Easy to pack the reserve IMO as it is very straight forward. No velcro on the rig and the flaps, on the ones I have had, did not come out in strange body positions. Secure is a good word. The closing sequence of the main is very straight forward and what your probably looking at is the protective flap for the PC. There are 2 tuck tabs that are the last thing I do on a pack job. this basically was a flap on the bottom of the rig that the spandex ouch was attached to and once stowed the tuck tabs prevented the spandex from being exposed. it is not sketchy at all it is a very secure system and onc you have seen it once it is very easy to close and see how it would provide a higher level of protection then just a pouch on the bottom of the container. I was jumping my F5 with a number of different canopies from a Xaos 108 up to a 150 Diablo and did not have any problems. I was mostly flying the 135 range canopies though. Reserve was a Raven 1 (181) and it was a great fit. Here are pics of 3 different Flexons so you can see what they look like packed. I have a main off the container right now that I am using to show the closing and the pouch. I just stuffed a pc in there to show the routing of the bridle. It should give an idea. Again yeah the rig is older but lots of features that were on the rig at the time were very advanced for the time. It is a more secure rig then the Vector II that I was jumping a ling time ago and as long as the rig your looking at is in good shape is a good servicable rig. I never had any problems with mine and that is why I have had a number of them and still do... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Naw, could'nt be with a jump number of about 200 thinking about a WL change to over 1.6 from 1.2 not to mention a planform change to a higher performance eliptical.. Naww, just has to be a joke, so good one!! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

How about a teaser vid?? You know, just to give a little taste As a side there have to be some people out here that remember the upside down meets at Star Idaho in the late 70's and early 80's... I was not there but know many that were...... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Bought a laptop off E-bay one time and it was no problem at all. I just have to say that you need to go with the feedback. Try to go only with people with very high feedback. If you looking at a seller that sells a loit and has a few bad FB's that may be OK but you have to look. The more you sell the more you will find that somebody will be unhappy... It is a good guage though to get an idea about the quality of the seller. I dont do a lot but have done close to 200 transaction on E-bay (over 5-6 years) and have only really gotten burned once and it was partialy my fault. Lesson learned for $100 bt other then that I have been nothing but pleased with what I have done. My daughter is using the labtop now and it is running fine..... Good luck. Basic Question, what gets you going for a workout, in the morning, whatever...... what gets you going Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Mel did a good job overall and was a great sport. He kinda froze on the step and then when he was starting to go he got his feet tangled up with themselves a bit and instead of just going off the plane with it, his instinct was to hold on and that caused him to come off a little funny. Basically, he was holding with both hands but the exit motion when he fumbled with his feet caused his right hand to come off and his left held on a bit longer. That is what caused the akward looking exit. Instead of going off the plane to his right, he sorta fell straight down and his container bumped the wheel which caused his forward rotation. The parachute deployment was S/L and it opened with no line twists. My guess is that he tweaked his shoulder (Left) when he was trying to hold onto the strut. Mel was a really cool older gentelman and he has been eating up the attention he has gotten. Apparantly he was wearing a shirt around the retirement home where he lives that said "World Record Holder" Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=310&item=7141310809&rd=1 Here is a canopy that you dont see too often.... It has been awhile but i hope people do remember the Nova and that it was not a canopy know for good flight characteristics.... Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

I think it is something called snow, but I am not sure as it is basically non-existantt here in Seattle as you know...... Hell I almost feel like I got a new Sam the other week. I had to chop mine the otehr weekend over the woods and did not recover it till the next morning about 10am. Nasty spinning function laid out on my back. I was ready to take the whole day off. Only thing was drying it out by hanging it up for a number of days then gave anotehr good inspection. Need to get new Freebag and PC but hell that is not the really spendy part... At least I found it.. The Sam is a great canopy and I am looking forward to getting it back in the air!! Congrats on the new one and gotta love the "Sig" club! Scott C. I have a Rebel 2000 that takes great pics. It has the standard trigger input and is easy to use. Also can pick um up on E-bay cheap... I got mine in like new condition delivered for under $100 w/o a lens. I shoot with a 22-55mm lens on it (from another canon I had) and it gives huge amount of versatility. Just a great basic set up. Signature Series is da bomb...... brian builds them himself, and they have a couple nifty features. The signature series also has no warning label. Love My Signature Series as well! "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Ok now, I started this thread nad I am going to add a few more cents into it. My Wings is an outstanding rig, its comfortable and works great! The problem was noted by me the day i put the reserve in it the first time. I noted the problem and made allowences to address it. Once I had the packing down (every rig I have owned has had its own little tricks to it) it was NEVER and issue again. I let Sunrise know and they were very happy to assist. YOU CANT ASK FOR MORE! QC at every place will let one get by but it is how they respond that makes the difference. they stepped up and did a graet job, fast and clean.. Hopefully they make a manufacturing change and the issue is truley a non-issue Another rig I have had a problem that the manufacturer gladly fixed while I waited. They did this even though I bought the rig used. Another example of outstanding support. I am not going to defend a company and say one is flat out beter then another as every one out there has had problems of some sort.. THE TRUE TEST IS HOW THEY RESPOND! I say again Kudos to Sunrise for stepping up and fixing the issue I had. I would by another one. NOW that said personal responsibility is key in life and in THIS SPORT! I inspect very carefully all of my gerar and treat it very well. It saves my life after all. Garath hit the nail on the head regarding jumpers noting the condition of their gear. EVERYONE SHOULD DO IT! Inspect your gear on a regular basis and you will find little things to fix or repair, be it wear and tear or a minor problem that might have bneen there all along finally to a majoy issue that needs to be addressed, it is ultimately up to you to decide to jump the gear you jump......
