lisa-I'm so sorry to hear about your pet cat. But hey, you had him for 18 years, that's a rarity, as I'm sure your very aware. I know your pain, I lost my Australian Shepard "Bear" some years ago. I'm not kidding you when I say I cried like a 2 year old when he passed. He was 19 years old when he went to the "Big Play Ground In The Sky!" I'm certain there's other dogs up in doggie heaven that love to play foot ball as much as he loved to play it with my 2 sons. That dog practically raised my 2 sons. I'm sorry, IMHO you should focus on your dive flows and such. Sweating bullets about having/not having gear is certainly a distraction, been there, done that, got the tee shirt A suggestion, go to the classifieds here on DZ.Com and see what they have. If you have to, rent gear until you can get your own gear. Patience is a Virgin! Good Luck!

They used to have a DZ in Beeville, but I "think" they shut the doors. The nearest and best DZ you could possibly visit is SDSM at Fentress Air Park. Sky Dive San Marcos Excellent facilities, staff, gear store, food, sleeping/rest area, they got it all!

I cannot understand for the life of me why newbies come here to the forums asking questions about gear, landing patterns you name it do a search for the Love of crickets! Here's where I have conflict with these questions, why can't you just simply ask your DZO, AFF1's S&TA. There's plenty of support (Or should be) there you just have to ask for it. I was sky Diving for 2 years before I knew DZ.Com even existed. I relied on the DZO (Steve) of SDSL in Rosharon, along with the input of Hook-N-Swoop (Derek) and Super Swooper (Chris Miller). Of course you didn't see it, as it wasn't there. Denver has got some horses on the offensive line. They give Payton 30 minutes to find a reciever and you can't give him that kind of time to find recievers or the end result will be the same as it was when they played NE Pats, and they have a great defensive lineup. Seattle will lose b/c of their qtr back, he has no experience in super bowl play, and he'll be nervous and the Broncos will eat him up. Broncs by 10. Best- Richard

Street Racing at The old *************** Airfield. Just an old 1.5 mile airport landing strip in the big middle of no where! 30 cars entered so far. Got a fast car, I mean real fast, PM me if your in the Austin area. If you want to come the race master will have to approve your frame, motor, safety equipment, including fire suits, helmets, hans devices etc... so be prepared! I don't win each and every race, but I win my share. Oh, last but not least $1,000.00 per race and that's just prize money. Entry fee: $500.00. Side bets are allowed. Violence is never the answer to situations like this one. It just makes an already complex issue much worse. Not to mention the SO or PD would get involved and commence filing charges & arresting the parties involved. To the guy who got dumped, get over it. The gentleman who dumped you apologized, and he was sincere. He won't do it again. My favorite retaliation was to wait until before they board the jumpship & pull their reserve handle. Believe it or not, the show is adlibbed to a great extent. Willie does all of the narration and adlibs that. The evening meal commentary is done adlibbing as well. Willie said he tried doing the scripted segments and the problem with that is he couldn't remember his lines. I Love the show, but this was bound to happen sooner or later. I knew when the oldest brother Alan who is an ordained minister joined the reality series for the 2014 season, that it wouldn't last. I feel as if Alan "Sold out " for the money & left his ministry behind. He just doesn't fit in. So I reckon he'll trapse back to the pulpit now that he missed his opportunity to make millions of $$$$ That kind of disappointed me because he left his divine call for money. That's never worth it. Shear ectasy! I was hooked on the first tandem with Hook-N-Swoop as my Jump master at SDSL, what a blast! For the last year I have digressed and doing something I swore I'd never do. But I have done it. I've stopping this activity b/c I'm concerned that I will only become more & more addicted to it. I sure don't want to break any laws by continuing this activity.
