It pretty much does exist in seperate legislation such as the Police & Criminal Evidence Act (PACE), the Human Rights Act, common law and other hidden gems. There is no one source though.

I keep hearing (maybe incorrectly) that the US has a 3 strike policy with regards serious criminal offences, What you make of this? I think the issue with this was the websites display rape and torture and the like. As you probably know their daughter was killed in such an act. I don't think banning that sort of stuff is wrong, I'd welcome it, but there would be a hazy problem of where to draw the line. Whats torture and whats S&M for instance. There is another point (which I don't believe) which is sex offenders claim by looking at disgusting images and videos it satisfies their desires without them having to carry them out themselves. So what... violent porn by presription?

I agree, people will slip the net initially but no doubt will go on to commit other comparitavely minor offences and then be put in the spotlight for previous ones. It happens today. Its not instant justice, but it happens

I used to be pro database coming from a law enforcement point of view, but yeah, mistakes do happen. I know of one incident where a very high profile UK murder suspects DNA sample was lost. Turned out was in the wrong fridge but noone found it for weeks I can see it being very effective, for example in rape, murder cases or incidents of violence where blood/hair/skin/saliva is left but at the cost of everyones anonimity being taken away? I'm not sure if thats justified

Yeah, I don't have military experience but I imagine your right. Not through malicious intent that this stuff happens but it does annoy me that our elite special air service seemed to be playing second fiddle to delta force and their operations. The SAS were founded in the desert, have a history there and are certainly capable of conducting there own operations without having to play the little brother I'd have been frustrated too

I think people make videos and DVDs like this (Getaway in Stockholm for example) because they couldn't quite make it as no 1 on the track. I've no doubt that some of these drivers have professional training and race experience but they don't impress me to be honest. Strange technique on entry to corners too! Enters in a really high gear then changes down heeling & toeing afterwards! WTF!? After reading more of the blog, I have to say there is no way that was an F1 driver!

I was watching a documentary following some British forces in Iraq. They arrived at one location to find 4 civilians in plasticuffs and told the Americans they would take them away for them. Turns out they'd been held there for hours and the British officer just removed the plasticuffs and set them free, turned to the camera and said: 'they do this sort of stuff all the time, if we hadn't have turned up god knows how long they'd have been here'. HOWEVER: I also bought a DVD from a company that specialise in filming in warzones called Combat Films & Research and it showed the American troops as nothing but super professional, if a tad on the scared side as being their first tour of duty.
