Don't blame guns or the US, UK society is to blame.
Scoop replied to Skyrad's topic in Speakers Corner
You're right. The trouble is that freedom for the judges will never be restored until there is sufficient space to house the criminals. I've got people I deal with who have been arrested 30 odd times and never been inside -
Hi, I'm in the same position. Just got into a career where I'm working 3 weekends in 5 and thats just not going to change. I love jumping abroad, as someone stated, so much less bullshit. Its just fun. I will be going to Empuriabrava again in September. I wondered if it'd be worth quitting as my progress has been so slow but then thought, nah sod it. I've invested a lot of money in equipment and when I'm jumping I really enjoy it. I'll probably continue to do the bulk of my jumping abroad though and just stay current at home and do some fun jumps with friends. You'll probably find there will be a 'hardcore' (hardcore tossers) at home who will tell you your not a skydiver if your not at teh DZ come rain or shine spending most your money at the DZ bar because the weathers shite but thats bollocks. KEEP JUMPING but do it where you don't feel like you've been anally violated for the privelage

Finally got my car, any suggestions on mods/add-ons?

What he said. Please please please avoid nitrous unless you have your engine completely rebuilt and upgraded by a profesiional engine builder. Even then you should only use nitrous if you've exhausted all over methods of getting power (lightened components, modified heads, increased stroke/bore, uprated pistons/rods/crank) In fact fuck it. Nitrous is for dickheads -
So how weird am I? I kinda want to get Pepper Sprayed...

Exposure training is no big deal. Geting PAVAd directly in the eyes is a bit different though. One gripe I do have about PAVA is it is supposedly not meant to cross contaminate, but thats bullshit. Being in an environment where PAVA has been used is worse than being in a CS environment. -

What we really need is more prisons and tougher sentances. The penalty side of the justice system is laughable. I feel that the police do a stirling job only to be let down by the courts and judges whos hands are tied with what sentances they can impose Makes me wonder why we bother sometimes -

I've been CSd both directly with a jet in the face and exposure in a CS environment. CS isn't too bad, I just had a sensation of burning skin but I could battle on. The only problem is moisture reactivates the crystals so when I had a nice cup of tea afterwards the steam from the cup reactivated the reaction in my eyes which hurt like hell, much worse than the actual spray. The only remedy is to stand with your eyes open facing the wind. I have also been hit accidently indirectly with PAVA (pepper spray) and I couldn't see as my eyes just continually streamed, I immediatly started uncontrollably coughing and my skin burnt (sensation, not literally). That lasted about 30 mins. I hate to think what a direct hit would have been like. Its good though as when you know what the sensation is like, its not such a shock and it helps you to battle through it should you need to. You can identify when your getting the symptoms of the spray and not panic which is the most important thing. People really freak out. So much so that when someone was sprayed with an inert training spray (water) which they forgot to remove from their holder they freaked out which still allowed time to gain control of the subject before they realised how stupid they'd been! -
... because you're AFRAID of the consequences of entering such an emergancy without one you mean.

Hospital security guard tasers man carrying newborn baby.

I have to agree with John. The child wouldn't have been at risk from electic shock unless a barb made contact with the child. With a tazer you can have hands on with the subject while they are being shocked. Having a good old fashioned bundle wouldnt have been any safer either, nor would weilding a baton (which would have been impossible in the confines of a lift anyway) I say he did a good job. Children are green and bounce pretty well anyway. -

DD back up girl Scoop is correct the News paper in wuestion is a tabloid, akin to the Sun (UK) Don't want to be an American idiot. One nation controlled by the media. Information age of hysteria. It's calling out to idiot America. A word from the wise!

Its not so disimilar over here, especially in the cities with gang related shit going on. WHich is what Op Trident is all about. Stopping black on black violent crime, specifically gun related. http://www.stoptheguns.org/ ^ It's not anti-gun. Just anti-murder.

LOL, i'm only saying. News reporters are notoriously bad at reporting the truth. Not their fault though. They can only report on what they are told. She could have been drunk and intimidating to people for all we know. Just don't immediatly start slagging off the police and the government etc because thats the 'cool' thing to do because it may well be that it was a perfectly reasonable thing to do.

Hey, each to their own. I don't see myself downsizing anytime soon either. I got something thats fun enough for me and I want to concentrate on jumping. I've spent alot of money on kit, now its time to get some use out of it. Think of the money you've saved on kit because you haven't kept buying smaller canopies and then getting a nice pretty small container to put it in!

I had to search for it as your link wouldn't work for me. But I'm guessing it was this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfhUaUuG1sM and this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1_lmvhkv3c You see one paticular individual in a grey top refusing to move and resisting when pushed. Then takes a few rubber bullets. Looks like a very effective method of dispersing a crowd to me! I'm all for peaceful protest, but don't obstruct the highway or people going about their business when you do it. What I find even funnier is they try getting water to wash off CS gas. Haha, BIG MISTAKE!
