  1. That would be me. Money spent partying is not money spent jumping! Anyway, im never drinking again after this new years Haha, who am I kidding, I say that every year!
  2. This is what annoys me, I recognise the loss of earnings perhaps if she was going to a place of employment but the other things are these fantasy conditions made up when people realise there is an oppurtunity to make a bit of money. They are scum. She doesnt need the money, its not like she was crippled in a car accident and needs the money for her care. Its just greed, like when someone claims off there employer when they slipped over or something because they didnt have training how to walk on slippery surfaces. WHAT A CROCK OF SHIT! I understand her position but the law is quite strict and unfortunately for her the test results were initially pointing in the wrong direction. It was only when a proper forensic examination could be conducted that she was cleared. Im not quite sure how it works in the States that you have to pay for bail, but over here if its reasonable you are automatically granted, there is no cost involved. I am certain she would not have been granted bail here either. It is also noted that if the investigation concludes the findings not supportive of prosecution it doesnt make the arrest unlawful because when you arrest someone you arrest them on suspicion of an offense for the purpose of securing evidence and conducting an investigation. The laws are tight for a reason and police officers have enormous powers they can exercise if needed. I guess the lesson learnt was just have a thing about what your doing, paticularly if your carrying items through airports/customs, because you might give an honest and reasonable answer, but if there is any doubt the law wont be on your side. The onus is on you to prove its purpose, like in the case of offensive weapons and unfortunately my procedure in scenarios like this is to arrest them, caution them (read their rights) and take them back to the station for a timely investigation where all there statements can be recorded for their benefit. The roadside/someones house/airport is not the place to do this. - paticularly when you have to wait 3 weeks for lab results I really hope she doesnt get anything as a result of the lawsuit
  3. Working nights is good. Can sneak down the DZ before you have to start work! If its like my DZ the weekdays arent too busy and you can get a good amount of jumps in without feeling like in some sort of cattle market
  4. Scoop

    whose pissed?

Only just recovered from it. Ive finally managed to stop being sick and have eaten something. So far its stayed down too
  5. I have to say, I recognise it as a term, but what kind of example of use of the English language is that?! Id like to think it was something more like... Skydiver - 'I jump out of perfectly good aeroplanes' Non-skydiver - What for?
  6. Its perfectly legal to act upon the information you have in front of you at the time. In this case it appears they believed she was in posession of a controlled substance. You will be dealt with accordingly. 'Oh its just a joke' is not a recognised defence in any court of law
  7. Removed post content cos its really repetition of what has already been posted
  8. OK, now im gonna be cheeky and ask if you have a picture of the full weapon you believe it to be. I imagine some skinny lil item, but id like to see what they look like ready to fire. Ta
  9. OK the plot thickens. Apparantly they lived in Birmingham. The city was bombed terribly during hte war and there was a number of UXBs. If this was one of them, I wouldnt have thought it would be canadian, british or us. I suspect that more than likely its been pinched as a momento by one of the female members of our family who was involved in manufacturing in the factories during the war. Would I be right in thinking its brass? It has no flat marks that indicate any kind of impact (assuming fell fuse down) I suspect my family are more likely thieving gits
  10. ..and that was going to be my next question Little bit of history then. Be nice to know specifics. I know an old engineer and bomb disposal guy. Id assume he would know what it was if it was a common weapon for its day. Probably still digging them out now. Heck, we are still finding spitfires in the ground in the Marsh here! So is it artillery piece or an air to ground weapon?
  11. Excellent, thank you. Trying to find out what model it is, even which country was manufactured by. Ive had a measure up with my vernier and these are the dimensions ive come up with... (see pic)
  12. Thanks, ive googled it but surprise surprise cant find anything. I need an anorak who will instantly recognise it really. Ok, closer examination. Writing on the top has a lone '63' then 'No 83 II' with the letter C and the letter A typed within the curl of the C. I dont know if this is some manufactures mark or something? You can slacken off the top and slide around a band with a nobbly bit on the outside of one edge (technical term). The increments read from 0-22. Dont know if this is for delay or as an aerodynamic thing

  14. Can you help me identify this? Ive had it for ages, belonged to my Grandad. Sadly he died when I was a month old so never got to the bottom of it. Anyway, ive treated it to a polish today and was wondering if anyone could identify it or point me in the right direction. It was apparantly retrieved off a WW2 battlefield. He used to be an armourer in the Royal Eletrical & Mechanical Engineers. Photos arent very clear. Writing reads 'No 83 II' Thanks in advance, I know its a long shot!
  15. We got some decent pepper spray finally, that does animals. The old CS used to just piss them off and make em go BANZAIIIIIIIII! Your right, I was going to get a German Shephard, think ill take a look at a pack Chihuahuas too
  16. Its the consequences that are different I DONT APPROVE!! lol
  17. Hehe, ill admit ive not seen many examples of the hard drugs about but the ones I have seen are in all sorts of weird and wonderful states. I guess that just gives law abiding people like me even more reason to deatin people like her while eximinations are run. Bottom line. She was silly, got caught out. Why should she get any damages as it was a result of her stupidity. You wouldnt walk up to a police officer, spit in his face, then once you ve been arrested try to sue them. Im sure her little gang think shes really funny though WHat kind of a cock end transports flour in condoms?
  18. Yeah, I think we have to make a request. The injured party has to make a statement to the effect that thate animal was vicious and is a risk to other people. But the police do have an overriding power though Id have to look it up in the big book of words to find out what act/section it is! I know we put one down. One of the local scallies used to have some horribly ill behaved staff bull terrier and he used to use it as a weapon against other people and police. Not anymore Is sad for the dog tho
  19. Thats a bit of a dumb statement. In the current climate of hightened alert do you really think an officer or security official would be dipping there finger into an unknown white powdered substance and tasting it Would you have done that if you received a letter in the post containing a similar substance a couple of years ago?
  20. Haha, hardly the savage beating you wouldnt mind admitting to! Can you guys have dogs destroyed after attacks? We can over here
  21. OLDIE BUT GOODY: We were so poor if I wasnt a boy I wouldnt have had anything to play with
  22. If she wins her case wont the money be coming out of your (the taxpayers) money. She thought shed be clever and funny and got caught out. Lesson learnt, will she do it again? I doubt it
  23. Hahahahaha, what an idiot! She deserved that. Short of sniffing or tasting it how would you know on the spot? I for one wouldnt want to see time wasted at an airport with an officer making enquiries. I would imagine its the same in the US as it is in the UK that you arrest for suspicion. She was lucky. I believe drug testing results from the lab over here take 10 weeks! She should be sued for wasting police time and tax payers money. Edited to add in some countries she would have been facing execution. Oh that would have been a chuckle then wouldnt it
  24. No, this is a good engine.. No turbo spinny things and whooshers and shit. Just real torque. 1460 long stroke with 160BHP in a 700kg front wheel drive shell on slicks. The car is a true 'cossie beater'. Its nice taking it to the circuits and kicking there ass. Modified saloon champion again this year. 4th time in a row Oh yeah baby! NOTE: The engine install might not look the neatest but it was after a seasons worth of hard racing (and a couple of accidents) Or for special occasions there is the spaceframe GT Metro silhouette. 1293cc BDH? (I think) putting out 210BHP in a 500kg car Now that impresses me, not street stuff with bolt on mods.... yuk!
