  1. I keep receiving e-mails saying I got a PM off someone. Then when I check... no messages They have all been read too. Very odd and its driving me crazy as im on AOL and it keeps going 'YOU HAVE EMAIL!'
  2. Hey, although that video doesn't show much, it really made my stomach turn seeing it from point of view. Hope your healing well. I see from your profile you must have jumped since then. Just reconfirms that the most scary part of the whole thing for me is the landing.

    BEER!!!

Beer.... is there anything it CANT do!?
  4. Well looks like I been roped into coming up this weekend. Hope some of you strokers gonna come to Nethers for the Skyvan and Andy... don't neglect Empuria! Its our calling
  5. I probably wont make it this weekend. Got some kit and tunnel time to pay for and will make some local jumps.
  6. Yeah I dont get it either. I think the boy been on one too many Shandy Bass
  7. Dear god, have your fingers been minced in a horrendous summer beef burger manufacturing accident? I know your typing is shit but sort it out!
  8. Pepper spray is awesome for individual confrontation. CS is, however, much better if confronted with a group or crowd. One officer used 1 small can of CS to gain control of over 20 football trouble makers fighting on a station platform
  9. Yeah, I do... maybe I'm being greedy I'll try to make a trip down for the Skyvan though even if its just for 2 or 3 jumps
  10. So how do people feel about Netheravon on 15th-16th July. They will have a Skyvan to play with
  11. I thought it looked kinda cool. I guess the charm comes from being so far out of its normal environment its almost surreal
  12. Sounds fun, after I blown my money at this tunnel have to make greater effort to catch up with you guys
  13. Good result guys, stay safe
  14. I have just completed my A licence via AFF with this club at time of this review. I found the club very helpful and the staff and members will always give you time with a query or advice if you make the effort to ask. I too read a lot of poor reviews on this website but I had already started. I love the place although it can be frustrating for students as the number of staff members able to get through the vast quantity of students and tandems means it can be a long wait to jump. All the aircraft rock, I love the Let for its comfort, speed and big door. The Beaver because its fast and fun and the Islander has its own charm too. The landing area is fine with plenty of safe off landing places. The packing shed can get quite busy when they are putting a lot of loads in the air. Because of London air traffic only expect 12,000 feet. The best bit is on a clear day, when they open the door, you can see France on the horizon. As its also an airfield for pleasure flying you can expect your own personal air show during your time there from WW2 to modern aerobatic aircraft. Some of the people there are really good skydivers although you wont hear them talking about their achievements. Don't neccesarily assume the tandems are a bad thing, I have been down numerous times where if it wasn't for the tandems booked in that day there wouldn't have been a lift, paticularly in winter. Come on down and enjoy it!
  15. I voted 'other'. I am single but not actively looking, I am enjoying things as they are at the moment. If someone comes along however, be great to see how things go. So I'm not taken and I'm not really looking either
  16. Very nice, I have upmost respect for all soldiers wherever they are based. Maybe its the case that the majority is silent and only the people with something shitty to say stand up and say it so here's my turn. Lots of us support you guys and girls and I think its a great thing thats being done in the middle east

    Altimeter

I have a brand new Altimaster Galaxy and that appears to be reading lower than what actual height is. I noticed when comparing with other jumpers and the aircraft alti. At full alti it was about 250 feet lower then it should be. I told myself that if anything, reading lower isn't a problem, I'd rather open sooner then later but its annoying and if something has gone wrong with it I would rather get it checked out. I am 100% certain it has never been dropped and its always kept in a small cloth bag (for digital camera but liberated for a better use) which then sits inside my helmet in my padded helmet bag so its a bit of a mystery. I shall try and find contact for company and email them
  18. You crazy mofo, I just like Maglites. The rechargeable ones are super powerful. One of my fellow colleagues left a Maglite on but also on charge in the car. When he come back the back seat was smoking from the intense concentrated light. Surefires are good and look very gucci, in fact I got a similar torch but I only use it for paperwork and doing small area stuff like searching houses or vehicles. If out and about and doing public order work or searching for people hiding in fields etc I like Maglites
  19. Hey it has a good presence about it that a little gay wafty surefire doesnt. Although, I admit, they are damn bright. Good for small area searches but for open outdoor work I use either my Maglite or a dragon lamp
  20. Get a D cell Maglite. 6 cell should do it. Can use it as a baton then too
  21. Think of the bigger picture. This is one of the reasons I lost my old juob and was out of work for 6 months. Imagine not being able to jump for 6 months Work hard, even do overtime (during week) and keep your weekends for your own time. I do 60 hr week now so I will never be in situation again where I run out of money for jump tickets. Just frustrating when the weather is nice while your working then goes to shit when you got time off and want to jump
  22. Possibly but wouldn't be until 3.30pm ish
  23. Im also mechanical engineer - CNC miller. 50-65 hours a week
