The level of background radiation around our local nuclear power station is lower than the levels typically found in any other environment according to the engineers I was speaking to recently doing an area survey. Probably due to being a rural coastal location and the ridiculously high (but understandable) safety regulations. I'd rather have an efficient nuclear power station supplying my electricity than thousands of windfarms, hydro facilities etc all over the place. I honestly believe nuclear energy is safe if all parts of the process are kept to the strict control they are now.

OK resurrecting this thread to see if policy is any different now. I will be flying to Girona from Stansted in August. Dimensions wise not a problem and I don't think weight will be either. Just wondered if people still had positive experiences. Cypress X ray card / CAA letter been recommended to me. Anything else I'll need other than licence etc? Thanks

Hi, thanks for the advice, I wasn't aware of that and by aircraft alti I mean the one we have mounted by the door, not the cockpit instrument. As it goes I think the altimeter might be lairght. We established there is a certain tolearance within manufacture that is accetable. As it was fine on my last couple of jumps I may have been unfortunate to sit next to a jumper at the higher end of the tolerance whilst mine was at the lower end. I'll keep an eye on it though.

That's a racist remark. You shouldn't judge someone by the way they look. They are innocent until proven guilty. If the intelligence was good they'd have found something. Its weird how people dont recall the amount of bomb making equipment thats been recovered in raids, people detained and imprisoned for terrorism offences. Remember the Ricin seizures? It's easy to criticise when something gos wrong but never seems to be any thanks when stuff goes right. It really is a thankless task working in law enforcement

I'll tell you a fucked up game. Baseball, those guys are all out of proportion. They are proper freaks. I find it boring too but probably because I don't undersatnd the rules. I swear I saw this pitcher throw like 7 balls at one guy and he didnt hit one and wasn't out either. That made my head hurt. I admire how the pitcher can manipulate the ball in the air though and when they can finally be bothered to hit the ball they really can whack that bitch

I admit THE MET are very capable of making mistakes but I cannot believe one of this magnitude. Surely not. As for De Menenenznznznznes or whatever his fucking name was, I forget what the outcome of it all was but he shouldnt have been here if I recall correctly and anyway I can do nothing but thank those fficers that made the call based a split second, it takes balls to stand by your judgements, especially when your wrong.

Football is a game whereby you kick a round ball with your feet. Its not a complicated concept, clue is in the name. Your version of football has limited use of the foot, surely be more aptly named 'fucked up hand ball' or as us gentleman call it, american football, to be polite America may or may not suck at football but whatever, it a shit game for overpaid faggots who cry when they fall over/trip/mysterously dive for no reason. A 250 man operation is not launched based on some dogy third hand information received in a pub. Theres probably not enough evidence to charge but doesn't mean they not upto something or weren't. On a side note to that, most people would prefer to think it was a bodged raid than find out that a dirty bomb has gone missing

I [personally couldn't give a fuck how disruptive it was to them or how traumatic it was. Intel doesn't come out of nowhere and for one of them to get shot he must have made a move or tried to run or something. I heard them crying on the radio today pleading for sympathy saying 'I thought they had come to kill me'.
