I think that was not ideal. Im sure its difficult at the time to stay calm and think rational when you see someone you love in distress but a gentle effort is best. If it hasnt returned right into the spool can you retract the belt now in different circumstances? Anyway, you did the right thing. Tried couple of times then tried alternative, I guess you truly were lucky to ahev that thing lieing around. I have a friend who rolled his car in a water filled ditch. He had one of these knives in his sun visor and had to cut himself out as the belt wouldnt release (I guess due to his weight as he was suspended from it) He walked away without injury. Just very soggy and his car written off

Lucky man. I think some people should have licence removed permanantly. Its for emergancy access ONLY. Also if someone isn't observant enough to realise this or see a stationary vehicle ahead they should never have a licence Also the boy in lower of the two pics looks much like on eof my nephews

On an intersting side note you can be arrested if you have an accident and found to be on medication, whether its prescribed or over the counter. Even paracetemol has a warning on the back about drowsiness. In UK offence is 'unfit through drink or drugs' - S4 Road Traffic Act I believe

It could be like UK where if your making multiple drops as delivery person your exempt frpm wearing belt. Thats only thing thats seems to make sense

Haha, yeah I guess so. I have a real problem if I'm sitting in the front and someone behind me doesn't have their belt on. There was an advert on TV where rear passenger kills the driver, who is his Mum and its always stuck with me.
