  2. Yea well you and your dirty hippie husband both need a shower! NO WAY you could see my nose hair... I'm 100% blonde as hell! --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training
  3. Deployment is a crazy time in the skydive; how do yours turn out? My Stats: SabreII 150 1st 2 shots belly cam 3rd shot flat top narrow (reverse angle) Shot #4 is just sittin' pretty --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training
  4. Yo STRATOSTAR I can't believe you didn't post any pictures of this guy's canopy! Sabre II 150; she's my baby --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training
  5. I'm sure its fine when everything goes right; but when everything goes wrong it could land you in trouble. For Example: Imagine getting in a canopy wrap/entanglement with another jumper but your ipod has rendered you unable to communicate and you chop before the other guy is ready; you've just killed your friend. I wouldn't bring music and I won't jump w/ you if you do. I think music is best when added to the video after the fact. --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training
  6. Perfect openings every time on my SabreII... I always have on heading openings and closed end cells. But I have been a professional packer for 2 years now... I wouldn't trade my SabreII for anything. --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training
  7. RR#1 - RYAN TURNER RAN HIS CANOPY THE F%^K INTO ME AND TOOK ME OUT (Entanglement) --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training
  8. Stratostar is right- Dude brought me into the sport anyway... He's part of the reason why I haven't pounded myself in by now. I think everyone's got the same idea but a different way about thinking how it should get done. Basically, if you're out to kill youself you'll find a way and no amount of advice or regulation is going to stop you. Its just up to the people who care enough about you to try and help. Life is fragile and we all know it and I wouldn't care except that the jumpers that get hurt are all part of my family. I think we need to push the limits slightly in order to learn but I don't want to see anyone else get broken. --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training
  9. Hey Kent, Thanks for the positive response there bro. I agree tho, I don't know how anyone can 'dust off the hands' when its your friends who might get hurt. Who knows? We've all gotta rely on each other to keep ourselves safe... you can check my pin any time you want... just don't try to pack my main HEY RYAN TURNER.... WHERE'S MY BELLY CAM VIDEO??? I'm way too excited about that crap --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training
  10. Practicing set up and accuracy is perfect; He didn't post about learning to set up his landing though, he was asking about the mechanics of swooping a larger canopy. I've just gained more respect for canopy flight recently and when I posted the post above and my post in safety and training I guess I went a little crazy on canopy pilots I precieve to be operating out of their experience level. I just want people to stay safe and in the air. --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training
  11. Thanks Stratostar Yea I know I've done my fair share of things I should have done, but I appreciate that you consider me a person who is eager to learn. I do know its hard to see more experienced jumpers do things that you want to emulate but may lack the skills and experience to do so. I really hope no one thinks of me as the "oh no, its cool I'm good at this" type (besides the ladies ) As for my friend... I've discussed this w/ him at length multiple times and he won't heed my advice (hence the frustrated post)... At the end of the day its his decision. I've had my 'wishing I was on the ground' moment and I just don't want my friends to have to feel that. --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training
  12. is really starting to piss me off. PLEASE keep tabs on the younger jumpers at your DZ. I know a jumper (who will probably read this) who is loading a diablo 170 @ about 1.4 with 50 jumps. Just 'cuz it feels fine when you're coming down out of a cessna onto 8 bazillion acres of plowed field doesn't mean its going to feel good when you're opening too low over town. I hope my friend reads this and I hope that more experienced jumpers than I can back me up, 'cuz since I live more than 1000 miles away there's not much I can do besides talk. Tonight, I'll call the DZO. --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training
  13. Anyone want to touch on the fact that he's only got 52 Jumps? No offence broseph, but I don't want to see anyone pound in weither it be under a crotch rocket or a pillow. Take a canopy course and learn your canopy before you start thinking about swooping. Ask yourself why you need to swoop before you get into it as well. Make sure you can bring it straight in and land on a teacup doily before you start whipping front riser approaches. Just like all things in skydiving, its better to be safe wishing that you could do something rather than being broken and wishing you didn't. Just my 2 cents --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training
  14. I don't think you guys understand my question. I don't have an HC90 and I can't figure out where I can find one. What I do have is the possiblity of buying an HC90 box and a HC96 camera. What I don't know is if fitting an HC96 in a 90 box is possible. Buying a new helmet/box is not the answer I am looking for. --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training
  15. I'm looking at buying a camera helmet set up for a HC90, but they no longer sell the model! Bastards! I called up Linda @ BH composites and she was not sure if the HC90 box could be modified for the HC96, and a new box for the HC96 is 6 weeks away. Poor me. Any of you crazy cameraflyers fit a square peg into a round hole lately? --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training
  16. She's not usually on the phone under canopy... actually I've probably only seen her use her phone a dozen times all summer long. This was by far an exception and the phone was planned for use in an off field landing situation. I guess it'd be a pretty pathetic thing if you just can't stop texting no matter what you're doing... "My landing pattern can wait... jimmy just broke up with alice!" --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training
  17. Jenn - if you don't want to find out how good of a rigger you are... shouldn't you let your customers know about your lack of confidence?? Or at least make them sign an extra waiver --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training
  18. Alright, I guess it really doesn't matter... I'm jumper A. Now you know my terrible secret. UPDATE! A wuffo brought in my freebag today! He found it while he was on a walk in his neighborhood and brought it to the DZ. My reserve is getting repacked as I type. A 25$ finder's fee really beats paying 250$! Also, the other jumper found this article online: Sometimes the entanglement will start spinning, with one jumper hanging downward and the other one orbiting the entanglement. In this situation the orbiter should cut away first. This will fling the orbiter clear of the entanglement without changing the other jumper's orientation. If the jumper hanging downward releases first, it will change the orbiter' orientation to the mess and could make his situation worse. 22. [BEER] I've been sitting solo and free-flailing next to good freeflyers for a while now and I FINALLY flew relative this weekend! HAHAHA THAT FEELS SO GOOD! Didn't really hold the docks (4 of 'em), it was more of a touch and go... but it felt GREAT! I also flat tracked it out hard core on a sweet sunset tracking dive (93 avg, 85 min says my neptune)... FREAKING SWEET WEEKEND --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training
