    Sounds like the right side JM did everything right... if the student kept going for red during his checks then its probably wise to deploy him early so he doesn't follow through in freefall at 5.5k. I wouldn't think its 'golf talk' worthy, but the studen't attitude is bothersome. It is damn windy up there --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training

    Knowing that the sport is dangerous is essential. If you haven't jumped, you don't know what door fear is all about but if you do you will feel it fo sho. The fact that you are plumeting toards the earth is to be feared and respected, the ground will not get out of your way. On the upside, its the most incredible thing I've ever done and I'll always try and convince anyone that they should give it a try. Just let your loved ones know that you're going to do it as safely as possible, and then follow through. --- and give them wings so they may fly free forever DiverDriver in Training

    I'm seriously freaking out. Indiana sucks in the winter - no hills for miles and our plane needs an annual before we can do winter jumps... AAANNND I'm sitting on my butt waiting for gear and its agonizing like a fat kid w/ some beefaroni but no can opener.     Remember that you don't have to wait until 4500 feet to pull! *EDIT: Although, if you are on a group skydive, make sure that other jumpers are aware of your intentions - plan the dive and dive the plan* If you find yourself wishing that you were under a deploying canopy it might be best to put yourself there. When in doubt, whip it out! Use a Coach and see if you can get a coach that will shoot video of you. It might not be obvous to you what your body is doing, but there is nothing better than video for fixing body position. Stick with it...
