Lotus/Samurai and availability/viability
Praetorian replied to thegreekone's topic in Gear and Rigging
Lotus is compairable to a SaberII not a stiletto, Brian would be very upset if a 125jump newer jumper got his hands on a Sam, (thats a guess) because he recomends a MINIMUM of 300 jumps to fly twitchier mains. PM brian on here (see manufactuer contacts at top of list) I find that once you have the air out of it a Lotus packs up almost the same size as a saberII ... maybe I'm just getting better at packing. after 80+ jumps (I know thats not alot) on my lotus I still love it Good Judgment comes from experience...a lot of experience comes from bad judgment. -
You just don't give a shit...do you?

Agreed the best way to avoid the kind of incident where a cypres fires is not to need a cypres in the first place... but when they occur how do we learn what they did wrong if they go in? if they had an AAD we can then ask "why the hell did you cut away and then not pull" get an answer and LEARN, so that others can train what not to do and LESSEN the number of cypres activating incidents. I FREELY ADMIT I might fuckup, and I might dislocate my shoulder, I might blackout to a head impact or an unknown medical condition.. in all of these cases I want to be around to learn from my mistake or incident .. so I have a cypres. I would much rather learn from my mistakes then die from them.. same thought for everyone else I'd rather chew out a friend for loosing altitude awareness then morn him/her Good Judgment comes from experience...a lot of experience comes from bad judgment. -
Diagram is great, the distance moved would be less on the ground, only problem is the dif between the distance from the center of the circle (core of the earth) and the surface of the earth VS the distance between the core of the earth and 10k feet agl is such a tiny fractional diference you can ALMOST neglect it Good Judgment comes from experience...a lot of experience comes from bad judgment.

now your changing to a less useful tactic then total denial.. you last three posts seem to be in the vein of "if you don't like whats said attack the speaker" at least your changing tactics maybe one day you'll get past denial, move on to acceptance and correct whatever the problem is.. The major difference between everyone elses humor in these posts and yours... theirs are funney .. maybe mean to you, maybe just tough love, but funney. your "humor" is only humorous to you and seems like another denial tactic, yet another way to avoid useful advice. I see your point, but I have yet to see someone die from pussy withdraw... I know a few who suffer terribly and wish they were dead... on a different take I know a few women who are upset by withdraw ... but that is a whole other thread Good Judgment comes from experience...a lot of experience comes from bad judgment.

yes more addicting then heroin, but not the most addictive, that "honor" belongs to Methamphetamine, Research animals will litterally kill theselves to get more of it, the same cannot be said for nicotine Good Judgment comes from experience...a lot of experience comes from bad judgment.

ok I'll give you that "Lotus" even when called the "Lotus MAX or Lotus Eagle trim" may not sound as butch as Sabre Good Judgment comes from experience...a lot of experience comes from bad judgment.

Pack is SLIGHTLY bigger than a sabreII (not as much as the 10% often quoted in my opinion) on dry days especially when its BRAND NEW the slippery of the ZP combind with the air locks keeping more air can make it a little slower to pack as you need spend more effort getting as much of the air out as you would a non airlocked. packs just like any other 9cell normal pro pack. I have a prodytter in one ear and a protrack in the other, they fit nice and snug in the ear openings of the helmet liner. have stayed put for over 100 jumps for me, if you are really concerned you can ziptie or otherwise mount them either externally or internally, just make sure when you put them in the lining that they are snug and the speaker is pointed TOWARDS your ear, not to the outside of the helmet Edit to add (yes I use a protek) and they get much more comfortable if you pull the liner and cover it in cloth. some humans are conditioned to enjoy adrenaline, but it is nowhere near the most addictive substance. Good Judgment comes from experience...a lot of experience comes from bad judgment.

You forgot the LOTUS, everyone forgets the lotus, it flies a lot like a sabreII, slightly less rounded... but its got Air locks .. ask those who fly them .. they are not just a gimik! I don't have a lot to compare but I have expreience with SabreII and my Lotus... I like the lotus better, stronger flair more precise turns (but maybe a tiny bit slower turn rate) Good Judgment comes from experience...a lot of experience comes from bad judgment.

I was bad, and I was (correctly) edited, sorry The part of my post that stands (and should have been said this way in the first place) If your version of why you name is on the list is correct ... Either laugh it off as someone being petty, or if your really upset you could just as easily put 10 bucks down on her and have her name right by yours, see if she likes it Good Judgment comes from experience...a lot of experience comes from bad judgment.

Exit order strategies...
Praetorian replied to skydivenagasaki's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I was in that same position, after discussion with FF and RW orginizers I came to the conclusion if I'm 1/2 belly 1/2 FF I should go between the RW and FF groups, giving a little extra seperation to the last RW group infront of me... or I decided to pull a little high ~5k feet and went out last (except students or Tandems) Good Judgment comes from experience...a lot of experience comes from bad judgment. -
yea my mom saw it ... and I spent 20 min explaining why I have the experience to fly but NOT to try that ... she has seen my usual TAME simple pattern input, yet she was scared that I was doing that..... she finally calmed down when I told her that as I understood it swooping at my skill level would be SUICIDE, and as I'm not suicidal I do not do it Good Judgment comes from experience...a lot of experience comes from bad judgment.

I took your quiz and tried to send it to the E-mail address on the bottom to get graded... it got bounced back as "invalid domain" or some such. Good Judgment comes from experience...a lot of experience comes from bad judgment. -
