  1. I'll be there!! Tell em I want 2 Lobster tails!!! "Utah, get me two!" Ok, couldn't resist. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  2. Yeah, I tend to exaggerate just a little [slaps hand]. It is very thorough though. But the DZ is well worth it. Glad you had a good time. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  3. Yeah, if you add up all the Florida players and multiply by a million it's still 0. And there's just something fundamentally wrong with the Stanley Cup in Florida. I mean, really, what do people in Florida know about winter sports. Really, I just wanted to stir the pot a little though. True Lies

This may be true, but I'm not convinced this is a complete study. I think more testing needs to be done. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  5. 8:0:0 8 more days in hell.....er.....Korea. Then I'm free!!! Gonna start jumping my ass off as soon as I get back! Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  6. That's the spirit. You'll be ok. I know there's an awful lot of people on here that have leaned on your shoulder, don't be afraid to lean back. Keep us posted on how it's going. Oh, by the way, I too have a high tolerance for pain. I finished a football game with a broken bone in my hand. Then later cut a cast off because I was too competitive. Then, another incident, in the army I broke my elbow and cut the cast off a week and a half later to take an important PT test. Neither of these turned out well in the long run. So, before you start thinking about it......DON'T!! 2-3 more weeks at the end is not that big of a deal. Just my words of experience for ya! Anyway, keep smiling, keep us posted. From what I know about you, you'll find something incredibly constructive to spend your time on. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  7. Of course, if the last 13 games are any indication, the Flames will win, capitalizing on Tampa'w win/lose/win/lose/win....etc....streak. Of course if Calgary does win, Tampa will have a record that will never be broken, at least if they don't make series any longer than 7 games. I want the Flames to win, because I like any team from the west over any team from the east just out of principle. However, about the goal, I don't think even the Calgary fans want it to end that way. Let it be a no doubter, not a controversial goal. Of course if Tampa wins, we'll never hear the end of that goal. And, yes, it was in....no doubt. League stands firmly because they have to, not because they're right. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.

    Sex Poll

Perhaps all parties involved were in agreement and it wasn't done behind anybody's back??? Just a thought. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  9. Oo Oo Oo.....I'll be there!! I get back on the 15th and I won't miss that one. Then I can pass on that Korea knowledge. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  10. Actually I've acquired a taste for Korean food and I like it. Yes, even the Kim-chi. But it's not like I'm gonna miss it or anything. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  11. I've been to a couple of those. They're usually trying to sell some sort of timeshare or something and that's how they get their audience. They'll try to be persuasive to get "the sale". But if you just stick to your guns and say "not interested" you can move on. BTW, it doesn't help to be friendly. You don't have to be an ass, but the more blunt you are, the quicker they get the picture that you're not interested. Also, if you act interested during the presentation, you will be targeted. Anyway, go for it. Just be prepared. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  12. You know, I'm usually pretty positive about anything. And I was when I came over here too. I really went out and saw a lot of things in Korea and got exposed to their culture. And I believe I openly assessed what I thought about Korea based on my experience and not on any expectations or negativity. I can honestly say now that there is no way I would voluntarily visit this country again. Call it negativity, but it's just based on experience. Some places you like, some you don't. Of course, to be fair, other soldiers love being assigned to Korea, but they are a vast, vast minority. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  13. I think you see the end result of a set of circumstances. These are the last things that happen. What you don't reference is any of the circumstances that led to this. Things happen at a faster pace under a higher wingloading and a higher performance planform. There is less time to think and react. Situations that often lead to bad decisions are bad spots resulting in landing out. Obstacles in landing areas. Traffic from other canopies, etc., etc., etc. Yes the actions you described are what causes the damage, but the question is, what led to those actions by the jumper. Bottom line, jumper needs to be ready to react faster. Just things to think about. I'm still not gonna say what's right or wrong. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  14. Yeah, right. That's what they told me too. I have 11 more days left in hell.....er....Korea. If you want to jump here, there's one place. You need $88 to join the Korean Parachute Association and then it's $88 per jump. Oh, and they're open every other Sunday, if the weather's good. I'm guessing they were open about 10-12 days during the year I was here. Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there's no place over here that's worth it. There used to be an Army DZ and Camp Casey, but it is long gone. Plan your leave for Hawaii, like Jeanne said. I hate it for you man. Blues, Nathan edited for grammar Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  15. My first canopy was a Spectre 190 loaded at 1:1. My next, and current canopy, is a Sabre2 170 loaded at about 1.2:1. I noticed a tremendous difference in going from one to the next. It is a downsize and a planform change. I downsized at over 100 jumps and in retrospect feel it was about the right time, but if I had it to do again, I would've put 50 more jumps on the Spectre and gone through Billvon's checklist again. Like John, I tend to err on the conservative side. I'm not gonna say what's right or wrong cause I just don't think it's my place, just thought I'd relate my experience as I did the exact same transition. 16. In this case, I don't have a problem with it. However, let's be realistic, this is NOT how these cards are going to be used. This will be the exception and not the rule. Most parents will get the card and never worry about it again. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  17. I don't think I'm arguing the point you're trying to make. I think if a parent buys and supplies alcohol to their own kids because they think it's a good way to teach, say....responsibility, ok, maybe they've got a plan, I can live with that. But this is taking the decision-making and discretion away from the parent and giving it to the kid......bad move. I feel this is the lazy parent's way out of another responsibility. I mean, really, they're not deciding their kids are ready to view, understand, and process all R-rated content. They're deciding they don't want to have to take the time to monitor. I think the ratings should and do apply guidelines. If the parents choose to allow the children to view specific or all restricted material, I have no problem with that. But they should at least be involved in the process instead of handwashing responsibility away, which is what is happening here. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  18. That's what I thought too. 700 is quite a few jumps for an F111 canopy, IMHO. Here's what Performance Designs has to say about the difference between F111 and ZP canopies. Blues, Nathan Edited to add link Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  19. Thanks Chris. I too wish to pass on thanks to my fellow servicemen/women and to all of the veterans that preceded us, to whom we owe so much. THANK YOU! Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  20. Here's another way we are making it convenient for parents to avoid being parents. Bottom line, it's a card the parents can get for the child so they don't have to accompany the child to R Rated films at the theater. I can't believe we make it so easy for parents to avoid responsibility. Why don't we make cards that allow fourteen year olds to purchase tobacco and alcohol while we're at it? Some proponents say "my child is mature for his/her age." I say "the parents are immature for their age" if they really believe that. I'm not saying that kids need to be shielded, but appropriate supervision and explanation for some topics helps mold the minds of kids. Why do parents shirk this responsibility? 21. Here's a link with some info on Sprayliner. Really, I haven't seen a professionally done spray-in liner that was bad. I have seen some Rhino Liners with some minor cracking but nothing to worry about. I have absolutely no cracking in mine after 8 years. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to use Rhino Liner either though. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  22. You know I saw a great video of somebody's cell phone leaving their pocket shortly after exit on a FF jump while at the Mesquite Boogie. Didn't even realize it was gone til we were checking out the video and saw it. Then she checked for her phone, sure enough, FF cell phone. Could this have possibly happened to you? 23. Uuummmm.......BEER!!! [BEER] Oh, wait, I saw your post on Weekend Numbers......nevermind! Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  24. Spray-in, no doubt, Rhino lining or Sprayliner, either one. But don't use one of the do-it-yourself kits, they are not the same!!! Had a buddy that used one and it totally sucked. Once I had one done I swore I will never get another truck without one. They're a little more expensive but well worth it. My current one is a Sprayliner that's been in the truck for 8 years and tons of abuse. If I took a hose to it, you'd swear it was put in yesterday. Very durable and not nearly as slippery as the plastic ones too. Well worth the extra $$ spent, IMO. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
