  1. Just saw the Crue in concert about a month ago. They can still bring it. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  2. There are 3 DZs in Idaho, all in that vicinity. 2 at Caldwell Airport, Skydive Idaho and Skydown Sports. I don't know much about those two other than I believe Skydown is a relatively new DZ. The other is in Star, Idaho, Snake River Skydiving. I think it's the closest to Meridian and I've been there a few times. Great DZ, great people. On an old abandoned airport so it's the only traffic around really. Large landing area. Cool place. I like it there. They held a PST meet a couple years ago...off DZ at on the river, I believe. Anyway, it's cool. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  3. My first rig was a Javelin J3 that I bought new. Fit great, looked great, had the options I wanted. My first canopy was a Spectre 190. Fit great in the J3. My next canopy was a Sabre 2 170. Also fit great. It now has a Sabre 2 150 in it. It's a little loose but still fits pretty good. Oh, BTW, the 150 which was brand new was a little easier to pack in the D-bag sized for a 170. Bottom line is I still have the rig and anticipate having it for quite some time yet. That's my experience, but a rigger can give you more specifics, some already have. 4. No really, I saw Keanu Reeves do something similar with Patrick Swayze in Point Break. Of course they had more like 4 1/2 minutes of freefall on the first jump. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  5. Wow...this has become such a technical discussion. Just get her hot, over the top already!! I think "how-to" discussions are more important. You can never learn enough tricks of the trade! Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  6. Exactly. The people that really know realize the beret is just a hat you wear on your head, nothing more. Everybody's got a job to do, whether there in some "elite" unit or not. Berets just really don't matter. (other than they suck) Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  7. I think we should have a study. We all go out and initiate as many female orgasms as possible in the next month. Then we ponder momentarily, realize it doesn't matter why, and continue the process. This study could go on indefinitely. Of course while we're at it, might as well study the male orgasm too. 8. Yes, Mesquite is one of my home Homes. I have many homes away from home. My job ensures I get a new one periodically. Anyway, looking forward to coming out there. Probably be there the weekend of 25-26 June to check things out. I'll send a PM. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  9. Hhhmmm!....I like the sounds of that........I think! Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  10. Hey, I've been here a while now and I've yet to have a corn landing. Besides, the corn is barely 8 inches tall right now....no big deal. Jeremy, I'll look for you, second week in June. See ya there. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  11. Oh yeah, love to freefly. Not sure about Skyfest right now. I think my unit is scheduled to be in the field at that time. We'll see though, never give up hope. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  12. This is just another testament of why Bill Gates has so much money....lol. Sure glad I've got Windows. The PD site is pretty damn cool. Worth the wait. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  13. I don't have any experience with the Cresco. I'm sure you're right. Yes the Kiing Air is a Twin Turbine. I'm not saying one is better than the other, just pointing out two aircraft that are fast to altitude and down, as I interpreted the question. I believe both the PAC and King Air are relatively inexpensive to operate compared to other aircraft. Agreed. Can't beat a twin otter. But the question seemed to be an aircraft that can get to altitude and return quickly, and I inferred that this was for a DZ that is looking for an aircraft they can operate efficiently. My mind had a smallish turbine DZ in mind. A twin otter is a great plane, unless you can't fill a load and it sits on the ground. It takes more jumpers to support an otter. Therefore, I offered the PAC 750 XL and the King Air as possibilities. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  14. Well, I just jumped a PAC this weekend and 15 was awful tight. Seems like 18 is ok in a King Air, but I can't remember. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  15. Hey all you Spaceland peeps. The Army is seeing fit to move me again, this time to Fort Polk, LA. I think Spaceland is the closest turbine DZ, so I guess that'll be the new home. Just wanted to say hi. We'll be there in about 3 weeks. So what's up at Spaceland?? Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  16. Hey, Jeremy. Congrats and welcome. Stop me and say hi this weekend at Skydive Kansas. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.

  18. PAC 750 gets up and down fast. They're supposed to cheap to operate too, at least that's what I heard. King Air gets up and down fast too and is a little bigger than the PAC I believe. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  19. Too easy, Johnny Cash, One Piece at a Time. Edited: Oops Douva beat me to it. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  20. A skydiving student was quite apprehensive about his upcoming jump and the instructor tried to reassure him. The student asked, "What if my parachute doesn't work?" The instructor, noticing the student's worry and fear tried to calm him. "Don't worry, the chances of a malfunction on your main are very slim. Besides, you've been trained in emergency procedures and you've demonstrated the ability to handle the situation should the main malfunction. Then the reserve will deploy and you'll be just fine. I'll be here to talk you down on the radio and I'll pick you up on the DZ with the truck. There really is no need to worry. Just remember your training." The student, somewhat reassured, boards the plane with his static line jumpmaster and off they go. At altitude the student climbs out and executes a picture perfect exit. The main deploys and to the student's horror is a shamble of shredded fabric that does little to slow his rapid decent towards the earth. Remembering his training the student arches hard, reaches for his handles, and perfectly executes the emergency procedures he had been taught. The main releases and the reserve pilot chute springs, pulling with it what is apparently a load of dirty laundry, leaving the student hopelessly in freefall. The student, by this time very disgruntled with his instructor, mutters, "Great, I'll bet he ain't waiting with the fucking truck either!" Another student shows up at a careless drop zone that doesn't much mind BSRs or FARs. Having never jumped before he is surprized when the DZO hands him a rig and an altimeter, telling him, "When you get to 5000 feet, pull this ripcord. If that doesn't work, pull this cutaway handle, then the reserve ripcord. Have a good jump." The student, thinking that people do this all the time, figures this is the normal procedure for training a first-time jumper. He boards the plane and rides to altitude. He carefully watches the other jumpers on the load exit and tries to get any further knowledge he can about how they go about this business of skydiving. Finally, the student finds himself at the door, takes a deep breath to muster courage, and out he goes. Tumbling wildly through the air and spinning out of control, the student quickly realizes his training has not been sufficient. He decides not to wait for 5000 feet and pulls the main ripcord. The parachute deploys in a tangled mess and the student, although not well trained, realizes that this is not what it's supposed to look like. He pulls the cutaway and the main releases. Somehow finding himself belly to earth the student pulls the reserve ripcord. Upon pulling the ripcord the student is astonished that nothing happens! Nothing at all! Suddenly he looks down and he can sees he is right over a neighborhood. And amazing as it may seem, a man is screaming upward nearly straight at him at a tremendous rate of speed. He figures that the man may be his last chance. As they close, the student screams at him, "Hey, do you know anything about parachutes??!!" The man yells right back, "NO! Do you know anything about gas barbecues??!!" Ok, that's my contribution. If you think they're funny they are mine, if not, they're somebody else's Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  21. Send me a picture and a brief description of your sexual attitude and I'll let you know....lol Seriously, it will probably depend on what you're willing to provide....as bad as that sounds. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.
  22. Yeah, my thoughts to. I'm really confused on what the question is? What is low? I don't know anybody that goes below pull altitudes as required by the SIM on purpose. I choose 3k as my pull altitude although I am allowed to pull at 2k, unless DZ policy prohibits. My choice is to allow extra room for error. If airspace is not clear I can use a little extra time to track. I don't feel the need to take it any lower. As far as going below 2k on purpose....wouldn't even consider it. I've had hard pulls that took me to 2200 or so, but that's as close as I've been. I'm still not sure I understand the question. 23. Umm, I've seen that rig before. Wazzup Patrick. Blues, Nathan Blues, Nathan If you wait 'til the last minute, it'll only take a minute.

  25. Personally, a guy that messes up, realizes it, takes responsibility and tries to learn from it is ok in my book. What bothers me is those that so "oh well, no big deal". So don't take it too hard, but at the same time, don't forget. Sounds to me like you are responsible for your own actions. Good for you. In my opinion that's more than half the battle.
